6 New Things You Didn’t Know About True Blood Season 7!

Season 7 Will be a Bloodbath:

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBOs True Blood Season 7With less than a month to go until HBO’s True Blood Season 7 kicks off, there is plenty of anticipation! Fans are scouring the latest teaser videos and promo posters in order to extract every last tasty morsel of information in relation to the very last season of True Blood.

Thanks to a recent on the set interview by TVGuide, there is now a whole lot more to pine over. Husband and wife True Blood actors, Stephen Moyer (who plays Bill Compton), Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) and showrunner, Brian Buckner had the following to say about True Blood Season 7:

  • Bill has to kill both a greedy human and a menacing vampire in Season 7. Who they are and whether we know either of them remains to be seen.
  • The abovementioned deaths involve a bloodbath unheard of – even for True Blood standards. The special effects involved in this gore ridden scene have been dubbed ‘Bellagio‘ (after the famous fountain in Las Vegas)
  • Season 7 will end on a more personal note according to Brian Buckner:

We’re going back to the original promise of the show: Bill and Sookie. People are going to be very surprised about the way we get there. There’s romance, sadness and resolution.

  • Nobody is safe. Nobody. With the outbreak of Hep V infected vampires encroaching on Bellefleurs (formerly Merlotte’s), fans had no doubt of this. It will probably come down to just how many of our True Blood faves will succumb.
  • Sookie cannot save everyone. Anna Paquin had this to say:

The stakes are the highest they’ve ever been. Sookie gets into situations she’s going to need help getting out of.

  • Bon Temps may be going to hell in a handbasket, but people will still be getting naked! Well, this we probably could have guessed at already, but Brian Buckner has just confirmed it for us.

What do you think all of this new information means for True Blood Season 7? Let us know by commenting below!

True Blood Season 7: Could Sookie Stackhouse End Up as a Vampire?

Latest  Promo Poster Features Sookie With a Bloody Tear:

And we all know that only vampires in the Sookieverse cry bloody tears. Could this latest promo poster from HBO for True Blood Season 7 signify a change in Sookie (Anna Paquin)? Will she sacrifice the very thing she cherishes so dearly – being a human – in order to save someone else?

True to the End HBO True Blood Season 7 promo poster

This idea was investigated in in Season 6, so surely the writers wouldn’t draw upon this dilemma so soon? However, we have seen a lot of doom and gloom in the trailers for Season 7. We have also seen Sookie sobbing and bloody as someone appears to be dying in her arms – could this be the catalyst needed for Sookie to consider becoming a vampire?

Yet, the title of the poster seems to say otherwise: True to the End. This would suggest that Sookie wouldn’t turn – no matter what odds are stacked against her.

So why is she crying bloody tears HBO?

Writer Reveals Sookie Stackhouse Nearly Died in True Blood Season 5!

‘Nobody Should be Safe’ Says True Blood Writer Raelle Tucker:

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True BloodFans of True Blood’s main character, Sookie Stackhouse (played by Anna Paquin), will be shocked to hear that the Bon Temps telepathic waitress nearly didn’t survive True Blood Season 5! If series writer, Raelle Tucker, had her way, she would have come to an untimely demise in order to shake things up for the vampire loving audience. Recently she told the audience at the Rio Film Festival:

In Season 5 I pitched to kill Sookie, I really did because I think nobody should be safe.

It’s always a fine line writers have to walk: that of keeping the audience happy, and shaking things up just enough so fans tune in for the next episode. Tucker went on explain that it is a writers job to kill of characters, yet, when asked how she feels when their intended audience is upset about character deaths, she had this to say:

It’s a good feeling if the audience is feeling upset when a character dies, that means we have done our job right.

Raelle was very thankful to be writing for television in a day and age such as this one. She was also very excited about the advent of viewing platforms such as NetFlix, Amazon and Hulu, but was most thankful to HBO, citing the studio and network for the long term success of True Blood. She summed up her thoughts on television in the digital age by saying:

It feels that the only limitation on television is what you can imagine, there is no boundaries of what you can say, what you can do.

Do you think Sookie should have died in Season 5? Let us know in the comments below.

True Blood: Is the “Real” Season 6 Major Death Still to Come?

Will We See One More Death in the Finale?:

True Blood's Anna Paquin
Credit: HBO

With the Season 6 Finale of True Blood less than a week away, there is the lingering possibility that the Season 6 major character death is still to come.  Fans watched with awe and sadness in Episode 6, when the lovable and tormented Terry Bellefleur(Todd Lowe) set the wheels in motion to put an end to his tortured life.  We knew almost immediately that Terry would be the “major” character death of Season 6. Episode 7 confirmed our feelings, and yet the death of Terry Bellefleur for some was a little anti-climatic.  Yes Terry has been in the series since the beginning, but Terry? The major character death?

I would like to propose another twist that the major character death is still to come in the Season 6 Finale which aires next Sunday August 18 on HBO. The major character death could in fact be none other than Bon Temps favourite telepath, Sookie Stackhouse(Anna Paquin).

What we know:

1) Sookie has promised to become Warlow(Rob Kazinsky’s) faerie vampire bride, this can only be achieved with the “death” of Sookie. Sookie reconfirmed her promise to Warlow in Episode 9.

2) Sookie does not want to die and be buried next to her parents for all of eternity.

3) Sookie’s “death” would not mean the end of her time on the show True Blood, it would mark the beginning of a very interesting storyline.

It has been said in an interview that the finale brings “game changer” status to True Blood. Having Sookie become a vampire would definitely be a game changer, since we have spent the past 5 seasons listening to her say that she would never turn into a vampire…

So Truebies what do you think? Will Sookie go through with the faerie vampire wedding, marking the “real” major character death of the season?

Sookie Stackhouse Was Nearly Played by True Blood’s Anna Camp!

Could You Imagine Sarah Newlin as Sookie?

Anna Camp stars as vicious Sarah Newlin in HBO's True Blood Season 6While Anna Camp is thoroughly enjoying the return of her character, Sarah Newlin, to HBO’s True Blood Season 6, it seems she very nearly made it to the True Blood big time: Sookie Stackhouse (played by Anna Paquin).

With her big hair, southern hospitality and an aversion to vampires, Sarah has turned out to be the villain Truebies just love to hate. It’s a challenge she thoroughly enjoys too.

When you have the mean girl, you can’t just hate her. You’ve got to love to hate her. There’s a certain line you have to walk to play the mean girl. You obviously can’t be in on the joke, but you have to commit to it.

While Camp enjoys playing the nasty characters, True Blood’s first showrunner, Alan Ball, had a different idea. Originally, he had Anna Camp try out for the role of Sookie Stackhouse! It seems that Anna wasn’t so sure she’d fit the part. And once she saw Anna Paquin trying out for the role, she knew it wasn’t going to come to pass:

We passed each other in the hallway, and I was like, ‘Oh, Anna Paquin. She’s totally going to get this.’

While Anna Camp may have missed a golden opportunity at a long time role on True Blood, fans sure a happy with her portrayal of Sarah Newlin. While Sarah is the villain we all love to hate, it has come down entirely to the brilliant portrayal of the character by Anna Camp.

Do you think Anna Camp would make a better Sookie Stackhouse? Or, alternatively, could you imagine Anna Paquin as Sarah Newlin? Let us know in the comments below.

True Blood Season 6: Is Sookie Stackhouse Pregnant?

Does Glowing During Sex Result in Pregnancy?

nna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) and Robert Kazinsky (Be Flynn/Warlow) star in HBO's True Blood Season 6

In Episode 6, (entitled Don’t You Feel Me), of HBO’s True Blood Season 6, we got to see Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and her very special fairy lady parts get intimate with Ben/Warlow (Robert Kazinsky) while she was hiding him from Billith (Stephen Moyer) in Fairyland. With a rather ‘glowing’ end to the consummation, fans have been speculating that Sookie could now be pregnant, thanks to the same thing happening when Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) and Maurella’s (Kristina Anapau) tryst ended this way.

If this is the case, than more questions than answers are raised:

  • If Sookie is pregnant, would the baby be human, fae, vampire or a combination of the three?
  • Does glowing really indicate conception, or is it just a sign they had a ‘happy ending’
  • Would Billith stoop so low as to drain one of Sookie’s fairy babies if they turn out to be the same as Warlow?
  • How many babies would Sookie have?
  • Does this now mean that Warlow and Sookie are married?

Recently, Roberrt Kazinsky dropped a hint about that scene when asked about what Warlow can and can’t do, which has further fanned the rumors:

I can eat, I can cry, I can bleed, I can have children, I can walk in daylight. And that’s an interesting proposition for a show like this.

Well, now isn’t that an intriguing thing to say? It will be interesting to see if anything comes to fruition from Episode 6. While there was no hint of pregnancy mentioned in Episode 7, (entitled In the Evening), there is still plenty of time for things to occur with three more episodes of True Blood’s Season 6 left. Wouldn’t it make a fantastic cliffhanger?

You can view the entire interview with Robert Kazinsky here.

Rob Kazinsky’s Best True Blood Scenes are “Still to Come”

True Blood Star Rob Kazinsky Teases the Best is Yet to Come:

Robert Kazinsky stars as Ben Flynn/Warlow in HBO's True Blood Season 6

Truebies Rejoice! Rob Kazinsky, the faery-vampire hybrid obsessed with Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) teases that some of his best scenes on True Blood are yet to be seen.  A fan on Twitter asked him what the highlight of his experience on the show has been so far, and his reply was:

That’s all still to come!

Whoa! Does this mean there are more exploding light sex scenes with Sookie? A fight with Bilith (Stephen Moyer) perhaps? Fans can’t wait to find out!

Apart from his role as Ben/Warlow, Kazinsky stars in the action/sci-fi flick Pacific Rim, out in theaters now.

True Blood Season 6 – Will Sookie Die?

Lauren Bowles Has The Answer:

Anna Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood Season 6

With all the speculation about who will die in True Blood’s Season 6 after Brian Buckner spilled the beans early this month, Truebie fans are starting to panic!

And I don’t blame them – even the least liked main characters have been an integral part of our lives for more than five years now. Many people are speculating over how ‘major’ the major character really is. After all, would HBO kill off Sookie (Anna Paquin), Bill/Billith (Stephen Moyer) or Eric (Alexander Skarsgard)?

It seems the answer is no – or at least not Sookie. Lauren Bowles (who plays Holly Cleary) had this to say to EW.com about the major death occurring in True Blood’s Season 6:

It completely surprised me. There’s not much to say other than it’s completely heartbreaking. It’s heartbreaking. But I really will say it’s one of those that I cried when I read it. Everyone at the table read was crying because in addition to who it is – and by the way, I’m saying that meaning it might be Holly, you don’t know – it truly could be anyone. I think it’s safe to say it’s not Sookie but other than that, it really could be anyone and it is so beautifully done. So it really is heartbreaking.

Well, if it’s not Sookie, who is it then? At the live True Blood Season 6 premiere event, Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur) also had this to say about it:

This is a season that takes its toll on the humans, for sure.

So does that mean the major death will be a human character? Well, only time will tell!

True Blood’s Main Maker Dishes About Sookie’s Swan Song:

Author Charlaine Harris Talks About “Dead Ever After”, the Final Southern Vampire Installment

DEAD-EVER-AFTER-COVER

Charlaine Harris, author of the Southern Vampire series of books, sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss the end of Sookie’s story. ‘Dead Ever After’ is the 13th, and final book in the series that inspired HBO’s True Blood, and Ms. Harris says this is the conclusion she had always planned to write. Despite reader complaints or requests, Ms. Harris remained true to her own vision of the universe she created.

While Ms. Harris enjoyed the world she built around the town of Bon Temp, Louisiana, she feels that she has told all of Sookie’s story there is to tell. While she received much reader feedback, Ms. Harris knows her characters best and remained true to her vision. She is very excited to be moving on to new projects now.

“I’m sorry, this is the universe I’m the queen of. The readers can get pretty angry and tell me I’m writing the characters wrong. I hardly see how that could be possible. They’re my characters!”

Eric is a Fully Developed Character and Ms. Harris Loves How True Blood is Different from Her Novels

When asked about the sometimes angry reaction to how she has occasionally written the character of Eric, Ms. Harris responds that she believes she created a fully developed character, with both good and bad traits. Readers don’t always react well when one of Eric’s less attractive traits plays into the story she is telling.

Ms. Harris enjoys the True Blood series, especially in the way it differs from her books. She admires the writers of the show, and doesn’t believe she could ever successfully write a script for True Blood.

“But at the same time, True Blood gives you the same characters in a completely new environment.”

As far as future projects go, Ms. Harris has begun a brand new series. She has also written a graphic novel with Christopher Golden that is due to be released in December of this year. Currently, she is working on another anthology with Toni Kelner, and is editing a number of stories. As for what type of project Ms. Harris would like to work on if she had the chance, she would like to have one of her books made into a movie. Having learned how television works, that seems to be a logical next step.

For fans of the original books that inspired the series, True Blood, ‘Dead Ever After’ releases May 7th.

True Blood’s Alcide and Sookie Possible Hook-up Dead and Buried?

Remember when Alcide and Sookie Started Going at It in the Beginning of Season 5?

Sookie and AlcideYep and so do we! So what happened?

Alan Ball, creator of True Blood, said:

“The decision to not do it this season [came about because] every single season, it’s been all about Sookie falling in love with this person or that person. It seemed like she had enough on her plate this season to not just [say], ‘Okay, now Sookie’s gonna fall in love with Alcide!’”

Ball reassures that even though Sookie has put Alcide through the ringer, i.e. covering up his ex-girlfriend’s murder for her, puking on him, subjecting him to vamps who he despises, etc, that the door is not closed. Or not locked.

What do you Truebies think? Are you Team Eric? Team Bill? Team Alcide?

True Blood to be Reduced to 10 Episodes for Season 6!

Trubies, What Do You Think of HBO’s Decision?

Hey Trubies; I for one am not happy, with True Blood only being 10 episodes for next season. Wetpaint.com has posted an article about True Blood being reduced next season. Wetpaint references a TVguide article that you can read here. In the article Alan Ball says:

“[We are] moving production to January to accommodate [Anna’s pregnancy],” but there will also “only be 10 shows next season, partly because of Anna and partly because of the economics.”

About the show in Season 6, he also states:

“There will also be some other characters maybe who we know and love who are pursuing a less than generous agenda,” Alan spilled, also noting that Jason “might be” a danger to all of Bon Temps’ vampires!”

He also had news about Sookie and Alcide possibly rekindling their very brief romance in the next season.

What do you think about Season 6 being only 10 episodes long trubies? Let us know what you think by commenting in comment section below.
