TheFashionPatrol.com posted pictures of Lindsay Pulsipher (True Blood’s Crystal Norris) while she attended the 25th Anniversary Genesis Awards in Los Angeles at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel. Lindsay wore a Dalia MacPhee dress from the Spring/Summer ’11 collection. The shoes she wore are charcoal Dana Davis “Alana” heels and she also sported a Badgley Mischka purse. Also in attendance at the awards was fellow True Blood star Carrie Preston (Arlene Fowler) wearing a sexy one-shouldered black dress made by In Add Minus. I think both women look good and made a good choice with what they wore. Let us know what you think of their outfit in the comment section below.

The Inside True Blood Blog Dishes on the Ropes

Despite Technology True Blood Still Uses Ropes on Set:

Ropes on the set of True BloodGianna Sobol, assistant to True Blood creator Alan Ball, has given us another peek at behind the scenes.  She’s posted a picture on the new blog, Inside True Blood, to show that despite new technology, True Blood still uses old technology as well.  The photo shows several of the ropes that are used in production for Sookie’s bedroom and bathroom.  Too bad we don’t know exactly what they do!  It would be interesting to find out.  Here’s what Sobol has to say:

“Despite all the high-tech stuff that goes into each episode of the show, some things are still done the old fashioned way…”

Thanks for all the sneak peeks, Gianna!  They make the excruciating wait a bit more bearable.  Do you feel that way, Truebies?

True Blood’s Sam Trammell Becoming a Dad of Twins

Double Trouble for Sam Trammell:

Sam Trammell as Sam MerlotteSam Trammell, the actor who plays bar owner Sam Merlotte on HBO‘s True Blood, and his girlfriend of 8 years Missy Yager are expecting twins.  The couple met in New York while doing theater.  Yager has been on shows such as Mad Men and Boston Public.  These will be the first children for both actors.  After receiving many tweets (including one from myself), Trammell responded:

“Thanks for your well wishes! It’s true; I’m going to be a daddy. Missy is pregnant with twins!”

E! News Played a Guessing Game with True Blood Fans Asking the Question, “Which True Blood Hottie Is Gonna Be a Dad—to Twins?!”

True Blood Cast and Crew Treated to Delicious Meals on Set

Typical Fare for the Cast and Crew:

guess-whose-lunch (Inside True Blood Blog)We have another fun tidbit from behind the scenes of True Blood, thanks to Gianna Sobol, assistant to Alan Ball and writer of our new favorite blog, Inside True Blood. Incidentally, if you haven’t checked it out, do so and then add it to your bookmarks!  There’s nothing better than news straight from the source.

Have you ever wondered what everyone eats on set, while filming True Blood?  Well, thanks to Sobol, here’s a peek.  She writes:

We’re shooting on our stages today, which means lunch is at the commissary. Whose plate do you think this is?  The choices are:

A) Audrey Fisher, costume designer
B) Todd Lowe, Terry Bellefleur
C) Michael Lehmann, director

Most of the guesses the blog received were Todd Lowe.  I have met Todd and agree with the people who chose him. The answer has not been posted, but hopefully we will get to find out soon.  What do you think, Truebies?  If you had to guess, who would your choice be?

On the Set of True Blood: Lafayette’s Bathroom

True Blood Blogs About Plumbing on Set

Lafayette's ToiletThe Inside True Blood Blog has posted about Lafayette’s (Nelsan Ellis) bathroom. When toilets are used in a scene they do not work typically. Gianna Sobol, writer of the blog says about the plumbing situation on set:

“The plumbing is so bad at this location, that if the crew were to use the toilet, it would overflow and damage the set.  When we build toilets into the sets on our stages, we do not plumb them unless we need to for a specific scene.  If that’s the case, our Special Effects Coordinator Michael Gaspar will rig a water system.  But sometimes even the fake toilets have these warning signs posted to ward off confused extras in search of a toilet”

Let’s hope for the show’s sake the signs work and there are not any accidents to stop the filming of the show!

William Sanderson’s ‘Bar Karma’ Begins Filming

Premieres February 11th on Current TV

William Sanderson in Bar KarmaFilming has begun for Bar Karma, the world’s first community developed television series, staring True Blood‘s own William Sanderson (Sheriff Dearborne).  The unique new show will be 12 episodes long and will invite a community of fans to essentially take charge of the show from the storylines, art direction, soundtrack, etc.

The half hour show is set in a mystical watering hole at the edge of the universe and stars Sanderson as a 20,000 year old bartender.

The series answers the age-old question: “What would happen if you could change your fate?”  Set in a time traveling bar owned and operated by members of the mysterious organization Karma, Inc.,  each weekly episode follows a new bar patron as they enter at happy hour and must make a life-changing…and possibly world-saving …decision.

Each week the online community, who have been participating since November, will log on to the storymaker application and will vote on the top storylines chosen by producers.  Users whose submissions are used will be named in the credit roll at the end of the episode.

Watch the video clip below to find out more about the show!

The first episode airs February 11, 2011 at 10:00pm EST on Current TV.  Check your local listings for details.

True Blood’s Joe Manganiello Talks Wedding Planning

Thoughts on His Father, His Wedding, and the Upcoming Season:

Joe Manganiello, who plays gorgeous Alcide Herveaux on True Blood, ended 2010 on a high note. He became engaged to girlfriend (now fiance) Audra Marie. He proposed  while the two were on vacation in Italy. Joe spoke to parade.com at Art of Elysium’s black tie charity event this past weekend. (Also in attendance at this event was Kristin Bauer van Straten. Read more about that here.) Manganiello chatted briefly about wedding plans, his dad, and what is to come in season 4 of True Blood.

He mentioned the tribute his dad Charles Manganiello did for him when he first started on True Blood,

“My dad was an engineer who never did anything artistic ever. I flew him and his wife out to L.A. for my first episode of True Blood when it aired. He showed up with a framed poem about werewolves that he wrote. My father, you’ve got understand, is like the toughest guy I’ve ever met.”

He also talked about his father’s thoughts on the recent engagement. Manganiello said that his father was very excited about his engagement, and thinks very highly of his fiance. He’s hoping that his dad will do something similar to what he did with the poem for True Blood for his wedding. He added that fiance Audra Marie was “really good at wedding planning” but they “collaborate a lot.” According to him, it’s a “good collaboration.” Unfortunately, all other details about the big day were kept under wraps.

Of course, the interview couldn’t end without a few questions about the new season of True Blood. Here’s what Manganiello shared:

I’m a werewolf so I’m biased to werewolves. We’re going to see a continuation of the last season. More meat-eating, more chest-baring, perhaps more romance.

No new tidbits about season 4 in that statement – but at least he promised more chest-baring! I am waiting patiently for the new season of True Blood, and his teaser just makes me all the more excited! How about you? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Creator Alan Ball and True Blood Cast Members Talk About Season 4

Talk of Season 4 is in the Air

Joe Manganiello and Anna Paquin as Alcide and SookieThe website Digital Spy recently gathered together several articles featuring creator Alan Ball and cast members Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) and Rutina Wesley (Tara Thorton) discussing season 4. While none of them are specific about things happening in season 4,  there is quite a bit of hint dropping!

Alan Ball told TV Line he suspects that Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) has already fallen for our heroine Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin). However, he maintains that even if Sookie had mutual feelings for him, they would have quite a bit to overcome as a couple.  But anything is possible, especially considering the state of Sookie’s love life at the end of last season.

A Dark and Crazy Season

Stephen MoyerCast member Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) recently hinted to E! Online that there will be a new dark presence in season 4 originated by Denis O’Hare (Russell Edgington) in Season 3:

“We have a new presence that will be a new kind of spectre that represents darkness.  We had the wonderful Denis O’Hare as the king of Mississippi last year who is gone at the end of season 3, so we got something else coming in to replace that darkness, which is going to be really interesting, I think, this whole new topic we have not covered.”

I hope Denis O’Hare comes back as Russell because they left the story line open and Denis himself has hinted that he might be back this season.

Rutina WesleyRutina Wesley (Tara Thornton) recently spoke to Access Hollywood and has described season 4 as crazy and exciting. She also said that the new season will bring changes for Tara. She hopes that the character will gain power and strength. At the end of season three Tara actually left Bon Temps. So does that mean Tara comes back? Rutina didn’t answer that inquiry but she did say:

“That is the big question. I can’t tell you that. I love my job too much”

So Truebies, what do you think about the teasers Alan, Stephen, and Rutina gave us? Does it make you hopeful for the new season? Tell us in the comments section!

Will Season Four Pave the Road to the Return of Russell Edgington?

True Blood Season 4 Spoilers and Speculation:

Denis O'Hare as Russell Edgington in Season 3 True Blood (HBO,inc.)

Season 4 of True Blood premieres June 12, 2011– just 5 short months from now. Fans (including me!) are waiting on pins and needles to see what’s going to happen next to our favorite characters and to finally get answers to some looming questions that came up at the end of season 3.

Some of the questions fans hope to find answers to include:

  • What’s in store for vampire Bill Compton(Stephen Moyer) as he faces off with the much-more-powerful Vampire Queen of Mississippi (Evan Rachel Wood)?  Also, will there ever be a Sookie and Bill relationship again?
  • After taking sewing shears to her lovely locks, where did Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley) and her cool-looking convertible go–and is she coming back or will she be on an extended road trip?
  • Has Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who recently discovered she is part-faery, actually gone to the land of the Fae and will she return to what must seem a very cold ‘real’ world?

Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) the Vampire King Of Mississippi, is yet another True Blood character favorite that fans want to know about. Russell was encased in concrete, gangland style, by Bill Compton with an assist from Eric Northman, at the end of season 3.  Eric was buried ‘alive’ under a huge amount of cement by Bill as well, seemingly forever to be encased in the hardened concrete but as her maker, he was able to summon Pam (Kristen Bauer van Straten) to help him. I wonder if she had to ruin another pair of pumps?

The first thought that crossed my mine was it is easy to picture Russell getting out with the help of an unknown source–perhaps Eric. I think it was Eric after he himself was released from the concrete. It is no secret Russell has caused lots of craziness for the main characters for husband Talbot’s killing so he could be back to cause more drama for everyone at some as yet unknown point.

It seems like a great idea that Alan Ball and True Blood‘s talented writing team kept the storyline open so that Russell may show back up sometime after the season premiere. Rumours are swirling that Denis O’Hare will indeed return as the ruthless Russell with his plotline intertwined with a filmmaker trying to get vampire attacks on camera and put them on the internet. Being a fan I can’t wait till season 4, even though June seems a long time from now.

Evan Rachel Wood’s Naughty New Gucci Ad

True Blood’s Vampire Queen Sophie-Anne and Chris Evans are ‘Guilty’:

Even super-heroes and vampires need to smell nice. True Blood actress Evan Rachel Wood (Queen Sophie-Anne) and actor Chris Evans—coming to the big screen soon as the new Captain America—pose together in the ad for the new Gucci ‘Guilty’ men’s fragrance. Stunning Evan doesn’t look the least bit guilty getting super-close with Evans.

Janina Gavankar On Her New Role As Hot Teacher, Luna

True Blood’s New Supe Drops Hints About Getting Close To ‘Sam’:

Janina GavankarJanina Gavankar recently learned that she’d won the role of shapeshifting sexy public school teacher ‘Luna‘ on HBO‘s hit show True Blood. Better, the lovely actress joins True Blood as a regular cast member so we will be seeing quite a bit of her. Gavankar couldn’t say much about being cast on True Blood though with good humor she revealed that:

‘She’s very different than I am… obviously I am not a teacher, and I can’t shapeshift”

When asked why she is taking such a seemingly unique turn in her career she answered:

“I don’t feel like it is, actually! I often play normal people with abnormal life skills and or challenges.”

Does She Think She’s Sexy?

Gavankar responded in the negative when asked if she thinks she could be defined as sexy:

Janina Gavankar in the L Word (Showtime)

‘Nope. I can look at other actors and say ’she’s sexy’ or ‘he’s sexy.’ I think it’s a lot harder for me to turn the mirror around. Many of my characters have been uber-confident, and therefore perceived as sexy. Looking back at some of them, like Ms. Dewey or Papi, I would say “Hell yeah! Those girls were sexy!” But that’s not me, that’s them.”

Asked about the True Blood upcoming season 4, Gavankar remained, as many True Blood cast members do, tight-lipped:

“All I can say is the show is going to continue to give you everything you love about it, and more.”

In response to questions about her True Blood wardrobe, she replied:

“Well, there’s not much to it at all. Shifters remove their clothes before they shift. Needless to say, I’ll be in the gym over the holidays.”

‘I Value Being Strong’:

Among others in a broad range of inquiries both serious and less so, Gavankar had this to say about staying in shape:

“I value being strong over being skinny. But my gym confession is: if I don’t have a trainer, I’m probably not going to work out. I hate it. (Laughs) I’d much rather use my energy artistically. So I change my routine often because I get bored easily. I just started boxing this week, and let me tell you, right now it hurts to sneeze (but) at least I’m not bored. (Laughs)”

Gavankar was asked about her memory of first being introduced to vampire lore as a child:

Her reply?

“Count Chocula (a monster-themed line of breakfast cereals). Best cereal ever. (Laughs) Hm, I think the first vampire lore I’d really seen was “Dracula” with Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder. I think I saw it in high school at a friend’s house, and I didn’t tell my mom. She would have never let me see things like that. I found it horrifying.”

When queried about what she loved the most about her character and being on True Blood, Gavankar shared:

‘I’ll be working with Sam Trammell a lot. I’ve marathoned the entire show and have fallen in love with his character. It’ll be nice gazing into the eyes of Sam Merlotte.’

Wow. Sounds like Janina has done her homework on the previous three seasons of True Blood and is really caught up and ready to get shifting! What do you think about the actress and the character she’ll play?
