OMG, just read some spoiler alerts and interviews for season 4 of True Blood. “Pam” mentioned that she would really love to see in the show the time when Eric loses his memory. ME TOO, and I really hope they stick very close to the storyline that CH presented us with. This would be such an Amazing move on thier part to recreate Sookie and Eric heating up during that time while he stayed with her. “Pam” said she wouldn’t be surprised if they brought that into the storyline and I gotta say I totally agree!

Ok, so I have now read all 9 books within a matter or 5 days!!!! Haven’t hardly slept and when I did, I dreamed of Eric, lmao. I am OBSESSED. I love the show and from the get go of that I have always wanted Eric and Sookie to be together. Now, reading the books, and laughing and quivering over all the “Eric” comments, I see Alex Skaarsgard’s face and I just flipping MELT, he is so HOT!!! I didn’t know there were more books coming out when I began, I was so scared the ninth book was the last book and it about killed me. Now I know tomorrow I can go buy the 10th. I am have many reservations about the future though and really scared about some possibilities I have come up with of my own on how they story will end. I am almost sick over it and REALLY hope I am so Totally WRONG!!!! Please let CH continue this series for a long time to come. I don’t want to know there is an end in sight, I will just be sick about it!

    Hi Christina,
The 10th book is out “Dead in the Family”. The 11th book “Dead Reckoning” comes out I think May 3rd. There is an excerpt for book 11 chapter 3 online at Penguin Group. Its under browse-upcomong books. Yah the books have been getting a lot darker. CH said that Eric and Sookie won’t die at the end of the series so thats a plus.

can I just commit a hate crime by saying “It’s just a book!” I discovered the sookie stackhouse novels as a way of recovering from twilight addiction (teenage girl – okay – married thirtysomething guy with kids – not so cool) I have loved the entire series, watched series one on tv, then bought all nine books (I know, now ten) in quick succession. They are brilliant fun, a lightning fast read, funny, entertaining and brilliant in a slightly daft way, but the one thing i loved about this series is that it’s NOT twilight! If anyone starts saying “team bill” or “team eric” then I will absolutely lose it! they’re made up characters, the books we are all reading are grown up, slightly smutty novels designed for adults… Can we please treat them as such and not as twilight 90210.
personally i think sookie is a bit of a tart but i don’t have a thing for blondes…

Dara, you are cetainly entitled to your opinion and to love whichever vamp you want, but I wouldn’t call Eric selfish and conceited by any means. That’s just insulting to the Eric lovers. Eric has done a lot for Sookie throughout the entire book series, probably more than Sookie deserves at this point in the books series. So please be respectful to others who share a different opinion than yours. Thank you.

dara

I don’t care that he betrayed her, he has more than made up for it and proved how much more he loves her. With eric, its obviously just sex-he is too seflish and conceited to be with her.

    Hi Dara,

We try not to ruffle anyone’s feather with the “team” shout-outs and they have it the past alot of hurts feeling among both teams. Therefore when it comes to teams we promote and encourage people to shout-out “Team True Blood” to show our admiration for this great show and wonderful cast. 🙂

Also as you can see by my name I have a particular favorite but your comment as Jaxx pointed out early can be very hurtful and insulting to Eric fans. We can all state our different opinions here but the main thing is to do it in a respectful manner without putting hurting other people’s feelings.

We are all passionate about True Blood and have lots of fun here enjoying the show’s various storylines even when the don’t involve our favorite. Welcome and have fun! 🙂

I wouldn’t necessarily say the book was bad, but it was definitely not up to par with the others. It just seemed like filler. Although it did seem as though their relationship grew a bit more, I was disappointed with most of the Eric/Sookie interaction.

Oh well. Time to wait another year for the next book I suppose!

Linda

I think that Eric is her real soulmate. He has never did her wrong. He seems to have her best interest at heart even though he is more about himself. Bill on the other hand, betrayed sookie. She doesn’t trust him because he came on to her to find out about her powers because the queen of louisiana wanted to use sookie. On the other hand, Bill did say he developed true feelings for sookie after he got to know her. But if you notice in the books,he doesn’t seem to show the interest that he was showing in the beginning, and Sookie doesn’t trust him. He doesn’t try to vie for her affection. He stays away from her but only comes around when he has to protect her. The sign of wanting to protect her could mean he does have feelings, but it could also mean he’s just doing his Job. Eric told Sookie more than once that he was the one of the two lesser evils. So does that mean that Bill is in some way evil in his intentions for Sookie and Eric is really has all the true intentions for Sookie? Does it mean that Bill is just plan evil and Eric is not? But Bill hasn’t shown in his character that he is of much evil. He seems to be a rounded out type of guy who prefers his women old fashion like they were back in his days

I think the idea of claudene transferind the baby is a good one it could happen

I’m about a quarter of the way through this book. It’s AWFUL. It’s completely half assed. CH appears to to put absolutely no effort into this one at all. So far this is no real plot or development. Each conflict lasts about 2 paragraphs with no detail or buildup. It would appear that the television show Trueblood has made Charlaine Harris lazy and only doing enough to cash the next book advance. It’s really disappointing because I’ve loved this serious up till now 🙁

I am with you 100%, what a disappointment, I did not even finish the book, I bought the whole series last year and read them in a week, I didn’t want to put them down….this one I threw down! I hope CH takes more time in the future and gets this series back on track and interesting.

Regina

This book was by far the worst. Kept on putting it down couldnt seem to get into it. Not much action at all. This was a let down after all that time $27.00 later. Disappointment and I think I will be done with the series. Last book I gave a B not that great, this book a C. Could care less when the next one comes out.

juleinny

i havemnt read dat bo00k but in the book sookie stays with eric or bill

jaxx

I read DITF. Compared to her other books, I found this one flat. I give it a “C”. While I loved the Eric/Sookie storyline and was happy for Bill in the end, CH is definitely setting us up for the remaining three books and who Sookie will end up with, if anyone. Don’t want to spoil for anyone who hasn’t read or is still reading. Anyone else?

Rosy

I read “Dead in the family” its great i already wanna read the next one. I LOVE ERIC and poor Bill. Sookie its a bad ass. lol

keekers94

I dont think Sookie has lost ‘that sexual connectiom” with Eric at all! That would be so tragic… 🙁 Rather, I think that she just has a hard time feeling safe anymore. She is too scared to be that vulnerable, especially since Eric didnt come to her rescue. Perhaps with Bill….

And I hope we get to see a lot of Sookie’s nephew in this book! He is so cute, and Sookie would really be able to help him. I dont think she will get pregnant, but maybe he will live with her.

I am so excited for this book!!!!

Sal

As for the pregnancy idea, she could also be pregnant by the fairy she was with in Wolfsbane and Mistletoe (which was after she broke up with Quinn). It is unusual for a fairy and human to conceive, but since Sookie isn’t entirely human perhaps it is easier. CH did note condom use with Quinn and yet nary a word about them in W&M.

NJfromLA

Sookie mentions in one of the books that she’d actually like to have a regular life and have children, but that with her “gift” she didn’t see it happening.

The “sampled” first chapter isn’t very compelling. I have all of the books and looked forward to this one because of the promise of Eric and Sookie finally admitting love (although, Eric has very much indicated that he’s in deep). I wanted to see where they took Eric’s comment about explaining why he did not arrive sooner when the two Fae were torturing Sookie. She really went off on him (considering her horrible physical condition) for not being there — while Bill WAS there. Also, Sookie said at the end of the last book that Eric wanted to limit the amount of blood he gave Sookie at that time because they were reaching some kind of unknown limit.

It’s not a good sign if Sookie has lost that sexual feeling with Eric. Very disappointing start in my opinion. BUUUTT, I have hopes for better when reading the book in its entirety, and certainly I plan on buying it no matter what.

emily

if she’s pregnant it could be quinn he is a were-tiger

Suzie

I am so excited….I can’t wait till i have this next boo in my hot little hands…Oh hurry up may!

bite me eric please

Ooooh man! I hope she is pregnant with eric’s baby but I don’t think so! Wishful thinking 🙂

Evie

I don’t think she’s pregnant…but you do make good points…. When I read the last book I also puzzled over the comment that Eric lives on in Sookie… Weird…

Also, in the fist chapter of book 10, Sookie complains that she feels too many of Eric’ emotions that the bond is getting stronger…

CH also mentioned a few times that Sookie will not get pregnant from a vampire…I think it’s her way of distinguishing her series from Twilight, where vamps and humans have babies. Or maybe she’s just misdirecting all of us on purpose.

CH also signed a contract with the publisher to write at least 3 more books. Introducing a baby so soon doesn’t sound like a very good idea.

    jaxx

I think the statement that “Eric lives on in Sookie” is because Eric gave Sookie so much of his blood up to this point. There is a lot of him in her, especially with the strong blood bond these two have. That statement was made just after Clancy died giving Bill his blood. Clancy is living on in Bill because his blood is in Bill. That’s why the emotions are so strong. I don’t know.

    Hannah

You might also want to think about the fact in the first chapter thats been sampled she says “I was already planning for the future” after talking about her friend having a baby. Also you also need to consider CH said Sookie can’t get pregnant – but we didn’t know weither she something more than we know – she might have the ability to get pregnant, though we don’t know what.
For all we know CH has got some juicy stuff up her sleeve.

Joyce Prater

This may dound far fetched but could Sookie be pregnant? In thelast book Sookie complains of being dizzy twice for no real apparent reason. The after the Fairy War Pam comments that Eric lives on in Sooke. What does she mean because Sooke has had blood from both Bill and Eric and it was never worth mentioning. We need to remember that Sookie is part fairy. Could a baby, being part vampire, human and fairy be on the way? And what about Sookie’s dream where she sees Eric walking in the sunlight? If modern science can make a substance that has the attributes of blood, then why not find someway to allow vampires to walk during the day? Or maybe the witches come up with a way for vamps to be daywalkers.

    jaxx

I think CH has said in a couple of interviews that Sookie would not get pregnant in her series, but who knows.

      Loleaf

      Hey Joyce and jaxx!!
Wouldn’t it be crazy if Claudine somehow transferred her pregnancy to Sookie before she went to the Summerland!!! After all Sookie could probably carry a fey baby…. I know it’s extremely far fetched but just an idea swimming around in that thing I call my mind (even though this TRUE BLOOD Hiatus is making me wonder if my mind is still intact)… LOL!!
