6 New Things You Didn’t Know About True Blood Season 7!

Season 7 Will be a Bloodbath:

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBOs True Blood Season 7With less than a month to go until HBO’s True Blood Season 7 kicks off, there is plenty of anticipation! Fans are scouring the latest teaser videos and promo posters in order to extract every last tasty morsel of information in relation to the very last season of True Blood.

Thanks to a recent on the set interview by TVGuide, there is now a whole lot more to pine over. Husband and wife True Blood actors, Stephen Moyer (who plays Bill Compton), Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) and showrunner, Brian Buckner had the following to say about True Blood Season 7:

  • Bill has to kill both a greedy human and a menacing vampire in Season 7. Who they are and whether we know either of them remains to be seen.
  • The abovementioned deaths involve a bloodbath unheard of – even for True Blood standards. The special effects involved in this gore ridden scene have been dubbed ‘Bellagio‘ (after the famous fountain in Las Vegas)
  • Season 7 will end on a more personal note according to Brian Buckner:

We’re going back to the original promise of the show: Bill and Sookie. People are going to be very surprised about the way we get there. There’s romance, sadness and resolution.

  • Nobody is safe. Nobody. With the outbreak of Hep V infected vampires encroaching on Bellefleurs (formerly Merlotte’s), fans had no doubt of this. It will probably come down to just how many of our True Blood faves will succumb.
  • Sookie cannot save everyone. Anna Paquin had this to say:

The stakes are the highest they’ve ever been. Sookie gets into situations she’s going to need help getting out of.

  • Bon Temps may be going to hell in a handbasket, but people will still be getting naked! Well, this we probably could have guessed at already, but Brian Buckner has just confirmed it for us.

What do you think all of this new information means for True Blood Season 7? Let us know by commenting below!

True Blood Season 7: Meet the Newest Character!

Brigette the Microbiologist:

HBO's true blood season 7Over the years many Truebie fans have complained at the extensive and sometimes confusing list of characters that arrive and depart in every season of HBO’s True Blood. Well it seems Season 7 is no exception to this rule! Not only have two new villains been introduced to play alongside long time resident baddie, Sarah Newlin, but we now have a microbiologist to add to the list!

According to E! Online, we have the following details:

We’re going back in time to meet Bill’s parents, William Compton Sr. and Margaret Compton in 1855. We’lll also see Caroline Compton (Shannon Lucio) give birth to one of Bill’s kids in the 1850s. And in the present, get ready to meet Brigette, a smokin’ hot…microbiologist.

So, it’s only a small snippet of information, but it still leads us to wonder why exactly there would be a microbiologist in True Blood Season 7? Could she be investigating what is going on with those rabid, zombie-like vampires we saw at the very end of True Blood Season 6? That seems completely likely. However, some are wondering why Brigette’s inclusion in True Blood was noted alongside the reported flashbacks to Bill Compton’s (Stephen Moyer) past –  is there a possible connection between the two? Only time will tell.

Make sure you tune in for the premiere of HBO’s True Blood Season 7 on June 22nd 2014 to find out!

Let us know your theories as to why True Blood would need a microbiologist in its final season by commenting below!

True Blood Season 7 Spoilers: Bill Compton

Prepare for More Flashbacks to Bill’s Past:

Stephen Moyer stars as Bill/Billith in HBO's True Blood Season 6With the start date announced for HBO’s finale season of True Blood, fans are starting to wonder how everything will be tied up neatly in a mere ten episodes. For those of you who are particularly fond of vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), there has been some interesting spoilers released in relation to his role in True Blood Season 7.

With fans concerned about what would happen to Bill after turning into a blood puddle and reanimating as Lilith/Billith at the end of Season 5, and then with all his adventures in Season 6, it will be very interesting to see how this season will pan out for him.

And now, with the announcement that there will be a flashback involving Bill, how will this tie in to his constantly evolving story line? Well, here at TrueBloodNet, we have compiled a list of Bill Compton spoilers – read ahead with caution!

What to expect:

  • The flashback will occur in the 1850’s – 1855 according to E! Online. There we will meet Bill’s parents, Margaret and William Compton, Sr. Not sure why we need to see Bill’s parents, since he was turned after he was married to Caroline (Shannon Lucio), but it must be important.
  • Another flashback is due to occur in 1862 (which is only three years before Bill’s ‘death’). According to Examiner.com, Bill will be clashing with some local residents of Bon Temps about his views on the Civil war that was raging at that time. A casting sheet in relation to this scene reveals a 5-year-old Sarah Compton will also be present.
  • A spoiler site (although Examiner.com did not reveal which one), has claimed that we will also see a flashback to the 1850s where fans can witness the birth of one of Bill’s children.

So what does all this mean? Will Bill be fighting with his inner demons yet again? Or will there be a final closure for him? Let us know all your thoughts and theories in the comments below!

True Blood’s Big Season 5 Finale And Upcoming Season 6 Hints! – Video:

HBO’s True Blood Creator Alan Ball and Director Michael Lehmann Discuss the Epic Episode and Season 6

Eric & Sookie S5

After seeing the thrilling, question-raising, True Blood Season 5 finale, I knew I wasn’t the only one to be sad when Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) met his unfortunate end at Eric Northman‘s (Alex Skarsgård) hands! True Blood creator Alan Ball gushes that writing the scene was “emotional” for himself as well:

“I get really upset when I write scenes where characters that I love die.”

Going on to express how hard it was to write, complimenting the spectacular portrayal by actor Denis O’Hare,  he also adds,

“…but it is True Blood, and he’s done some pretty heinous things.”

Ball knew Eric would have to be the one to do it since Russell had “destroyed Eric’s life” by originally killing his human family. He says:

“It’s blood vengeance. It’s primal, it’s mythic, and all of those things that can do well on a show like True Blood.”

Director Michael Lehmann also notes:

“It’s really fun and interesting that Sookie’s fear is what draws Eric there. That’s kind of a great moment, and that Eric comes in and completely surprises Russell in his moment of glory.”

With Season 6 in the future, Ball hints that questions raised in Season 5 will be addressed, including more information about Warlow and how Jason will deal with it.

As for the big final moment with Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and the blood in the Season 5 finale, Ball explains it as:

“a gigantic challenge for Sookie, because for all intents and purposes, she sees him die and then be reborn as something alien and terrifying.”

Lehmann points out that “it’s pretty clear where Eric is emotionally and where he stands.” However, he wonders most about Bill, since “he went so dark at the end of this episode.

Stay tuned for True Blood Season 6 to find out!

Video: True Blood Cast Dishes Spoilers at Season 5 Premiere

New Couples, Old Adversaries, a Long Awaited Backstory:

Alexander Skarsgård, Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer at True Blood Season 5 PremiereWhen the cast of HBO’s True Blood turned out for the Season 5 premiere, they were interviewed on the red carpet. Everyone was happy to share information and insights into their characters and the events of the show itself.

*Warning: Mild spoilers ahead!

Alan Ball said that Season 5 is the season of church and state. It’s the season of politics and religion from the vampire perspective. When asked about Scott Foley’s character, Patrick, Mr. Ball explained that he made a bad decision in the heat of battle and it has far reaching consequences. Finally, Mr. Ball alluded to the introduction of some new romantic couples. He couldn’t elaborate because it would give too many story details away.

Jacob Hopkins (Alexander) described his character as feisty and strong minded. He says Alexander grew more obnoxious with each episode.

Denis O’Hare (Russell Edgington) said that vampire politics are the focus of Season 5. Mr. O’Hare explained that when people are brought back to life, they have to lose something. With Russell’s resurrection, he has lost his vicious ambition. In its place are a playfulness, ease, and humor. But make no mistake, Russell is still really dangerous. He still kills a lot of people, and kills them with glee. When asked, Mr. O’Hare said it took Russell about 4-5 episodes to heal. Most intriguingly of all, Russell unexpectedly falls in love again.

“Something happens from across the room. Something happens while sharing a body. Someone you know. You’ll be very surprised  by it.”

Lucy Griffiths (Nora) explained that Nora and her ‘brother’ Eric love each other very much but haven’t seen one another in a long time. Their relationship can be very fraternal, in that they can be very aggressive toward each other. They make a great team when they work together but otherwise they just mess each other up.

Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) talked of the close relationship that developed between his character and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård).

“We’re good friends and it’s been a lot of fun. And we sort of love each other.”

Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam) shared that Nora’s appearance caused a little bit of trouble for Pam. Ms. Bauer van Straten explained that she and Alex have been asking for Pam’s backstory for years and were thrilled to finally see it played out. She says the story explains the Pam we know.

Kelly Overton plays a new werewolf character named Rikki. She describes her character as a strong, resourceful werewolf, the opposite of the damsel in distress. She’s determined to find out what happened to the Pack Master and is not loving Alcide at the moment.

Rutina Wesley said that, despite people’s doubts, Tara is coming back.

Michael McMillian (Steve Newlin) said that becoming a vampire might be the best thing that’s ever happened to Steve. At first, he wondered if Steve would be self-loathing but the reality is, he’s very attracted to power. Jason is the guy Steve always wanted to be and he’s coming after Jason. But, Jason has a new vampire friend in Jessica.

“If you mess with Jason, you mess with Jessica.”

Apparently, the first four episodes are a Pam tour de force, and the origin story between Pam and Eric is fantastic. Fans don’t have long to wait now. Season 5 of True Blood premieres on HBO June 10th.

Check out the video below, if you’d prefer to skip to the good stuff (strictly True Blood related), it starts right before the 3-minute mark. Enjoy!

HBO a Two-Time Tease with True Blood Season 5 Trailer

More Revealed with Second Trailer for Season 5:

Bill, Eric, Nora season5A second trailer for True Blood’s Season 5 was released by HBO. This one runs a minute, twenty-two seconds and, where the first trailer focused on potential conflict with the Vampire Authority, this one sets the scene for the return of Russell Edgington.

Initial narration for the trailer is dialog from Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) as he confronts Sookie (Anna Paquin) with the reality that death seems to follow her, despite her attempts to avoid it. Dialog voiceover accompanies subsequent scenes of newly-rescued Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) being hidden as he heals. Alcide (Joe Manganiello), still acting as Sookie’s protector, tells her of Eric and Bill’s deception.

If the Vampire Authority isn’t enough to reunite Sookie with her vampire suitors, Russell’s reappearance seems to be. With Russell apparently coming for her, Sookie is forced to team up with Eric Northman (Alex Skarsgård) and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), apparently against her wishes.

Fans are still left wondering what has become of Tara. A second question this trailer leaves everyone asking; who freed Russell from the concrete? This very question seems to have created a rift between Eric and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten). Does Eric truly believe Pam would betray him?

There’s Something Going On With Jason, Andy and Reverend Steve

This second trailer makes it seem as though Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) and Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) have had all they can take of vampires. With Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) in the picture once again, will he keep the Bon Temps police occupied? Or will they set their sights on Bill and Eric? Or worse, yet — Jessica.

What questions does the trailer leave you asking? Is that possibly Jesus we see? What kind of trouble is Sam in, now? The white finger-light is back. Can Sookie control it now?

What do YOU think? Share your theories in the comments section below.

Video: HBO’s True Blood Trailer Sets Stage For Season 5

Favorite Characters Are Back and New Ones Are Arriving:

Eric Season 5 PosterHBO has released a full minute and a half long trailer for Season 5 of its series, True Blood. Through a combination of scenes from upcoming episodes and character voice over, it provides the major story arc fans will be following this year, and still manages to ask more compelling questions about what is to come.

For better or worse, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) and Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) have joined forces, but remain on bad terms with Sookie (Anna Paquin). The two vampires find themselves in the middle of a battle between the newly freed Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare), and the previously unseen Vampire Authority, fronted by Roman (Chris Meloni). Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) is back, and appears to be advocating for the cultivation of humans for vampire consumption. It looks like Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) will have something to say about that.

Vampires, Werewolves, Old Acquaintances and Flashbacks

The HBO trailer for True Blood’s Season 5 contains brief scenes of Eric Northman in period clothing. That means fans will be getting flashbacks and back story! Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) is back, once again looking out for Sookie. There is a brief scene of Eric and his progeny, Pam (Kristin Bauer Van Straten) in bed together. Is it a current scene or a flashback to the time of her turning?

Still, the biggest question that needs to be answered is asked in the very first scene of the trailer: What becomes of Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley)?

Take a look for yourself! What do you think is in store for Season 5? What burning question do you want to have answered?

True Blood King Stephen Moyer is Keeping Busy

Two Upcoming Films for Moyer:

Stephen Moyer HBO promo S4Though the fourth season of HBO’s smash hit True Blood has recently come to a close, leaving many fans wondering how to pass time over the long hiatus until the next season begins, Stephen Moyer will be busy filming his new movie The Barrens. Moyer, who plays Vampire King Bill Compton on True Blood will take on the role of a family man who unknowingly puts the lives of his family in mortal danger while on a camping trip. Given that this movie is being directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who also is responsible for giving millions of movie watchers recurring nightmares from his Saw installments, he will be sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats in this horror flick.

Moyer must face the legendary creature the Jersey Devil, in the New Jersey forest, the Pine Barrens.  For True Blood fans it will be fascinating to watch Moyer transition from the cold blooded legendary character of a vampire to becoming the victim of a legendary creature. The Barrens is currently in production and scheduled for release in 2012.

In the meantime if you are looking for a Moyer fix, he appears in the recently released spy thriller, The Double which hit theatres October 28.  Moyer plays the part of a Russian spy, who is sought after by a retired CIA opeartive (Richard Gere).  Though Moyer won’t be donning any fangs, this flick looks like it will allow him to demonstrate his acting abilities in a very different light.

True Blood’s Stephen Moyer Talks Candidly About Season 4

Moyer Talks Up the Show, His Coworkers, and Wife:

Stephen Moyer HBO promo S4When Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) first received the script for True Blood, he thought “Holy f**k, this is fantastic.  [It is] beautifully written [and] funny.”  He tells the Bajan Reporter what most audiences already understand to be the greatness of the show: that “there’s a lot going on underneath if you want there to be.”  Moyer also graciously commends the supporting actors like Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse), Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte), Nelsan Ellis (Lafayette Reynolds), and Carrie Preston (Arlene Fowler) for their work on the show.

Moyer loves the depth offered by Bill Compton’s character. He enjoys the opportunity to take on the varying roles that Bill has inhabited over his centuries-old existence, like a 1920s nightclub entertainer or a punk-rocker in 1980s London.  From the books by Charlaine Harris, Moyer noted that Andy Bellefleur (played by Chris Bauer) is in fact Bill’s great great great grandson and he looks forward to a possible (albeit hilarious) line of subplot.

When asked about Bill and Sookie‘s breakup at the end of Season 3, he points out that Alan Ball resolves characters’ happiness with conflict. “You can’t watch two people be happy together for too long.”  This simple idiom seems to permeate every character’s interactions. Bill and Sookie’s synergy is no exception to the rule.  After their breakup, “there are a couple instances where she gives him an opening and he says, ‘Goodnight, Sookie.’ He’s reversing because he knows if there’s any hope for him with her… he has to let her be.”

Another case in point: by the end of Season 4, the triumvirate relationship between Bill, Sookie and Eric Northman seems untenable.  Where will it go from here? Will Sookie ditch them both into the arms of Joe Manganiello‘s character Alcide Herveaux? We don’t know, but what we can glean from previous seasons is that if it does happen, it probably won’t last long!

This brings us to the next question: (apparently on everyone’s mind) How does Moyer react to the on-screen romance between his wife, Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgård?  He handles the question with tact and points out the more uncomfortable situation that exists for his wife: “You’ve gotta remember what it’s like from Anna’s point of view… She’s having to do it with somebody else in front of all the crew who know us as a couple.”  As a loving husband, he reminds us gossip-mongers that the awkwardness is far greater for Paquin than his own.  But also, he comments on future “affairs” as husband and wife: they’ve considered working on projects together, but not acting together.  If a project came to fruition, one of the two would assume the role of director and the other, actor, so as not to overdo it for indulgent fans.

Video: Alexander Skarsgård on Season 5 of True Blood

Will the Eric and Bill Bromance Continue?

Alexander Skarsgård (Eric Northman) and Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton)Who loved the tentative and often downright awkward relationship between Bill and Eric in Season 4 of HBO’s True Blood? Well, if what Alexander Skarsgård has to say to MTV is anything to go by, we can expect more of it in Season 5.

“It’s an interesting dynamic between those two guys, those two characters. I could see that. I don’t know. I haven’t read — they’re breaking season five now, so I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m sure there’s going to be some nice Bill and Eric moments.”
