True Blood’s Lauren Bowles Doesn’t Care Who Sookie Ends Up With

August 9, 2014

It’s More About Sookie Stackhouse’s Journey Than Her Destination:

Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True BloodBy far the hottest subject for HBO’s True Blood Season 7 is who Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) will end in at the season finale. While for Team Alcide fans, it is already a race lost for the werewolf (played by Joe Manganiello), there are still two other contenders on the table:

  • Team Bill
  • Team Eric

After watching Episode 7 (entitled May Be the Last Time), fans could be lead to believe it will be a happily ever after with Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). But Team Eric [Northman (played by Alexander Skarsgard)] are counteracting that claim to Sookie’s affections with the fact that there are still three more episodes left and that is a long time in the Sookieverse for things to go horribly wrong for Sookie and Bill!

However, for Lauren Bowles (who plays Merlotte’s waitress and resident wiccan, Holly Cleary) she’s all for Team Sookie:

You know what? I’m Team Sookie… I’m a card-carrying feminist and I think ultimately whether you pair off or not or who you pair off with [doesn’t matter]. Ultimately everyone’s relationship with themselves is at the core for all of us to figure out, as individuals living in this world and with these characters like [Sookie]. And I think so often on shows like this everyone’s focused on the answer: ‘Which one?’ ‘Who will she end up with?’ And to me, it’s just more interesting to sort of see how they all settle in with themselves.

What do you think? Are you Team Sookie as well? Let us know your thoughts by commenting below!

VIDEO: Lauren Bowles Ugly-Cried Through the Final True Blood Read Through

July 30, 2014

Find Out How Lauren Bowles Coped With the Shocking Deaths in Season 7:

Lauren Bowles stars as Holly Cleary and Chris Bauer stars as Andy Bellefleur in HBO's True Blood Season 7With only four more episodes of HBO’s True Blood, for the cast, it is already over. Recently Lauren Bowles (who plays witchy waitress, Holly Cleary) got to chat to PopSugar about just how gut-wrenching Season 7 has been for her so far:

At our final read through, mess. We were a total mess. And I had, like, done myself up – really regretted that decision. When I was doing the ugly cry and looked like a melting raccoon… I actually noticed a bunch of the chicks had no make up on. I’m like; ‘Well that’s ballsy of them.’

As for all the death the show has presented with so far in Season 7, Lauren was saddened by the loss of her cast mates (especially that of Rutina Wesley who played new vampire, Tara Thornton), referring to True Blood by one of HBO’s other great bloody shows; as going ‘ a bit Game of Thrones-y.’

And what of the rest of the season? While she didn’t spill on any more upcoming deaths, she did say the last episode of True Blood could be summed up by the single word: ‘full’. There is apparently plenty of emotion on display – both happiness and sadness, the full spectrum. Which hints at the possible loss of more lives.

True Blood: “Season 7, Just Start Screamin’,” According to Lauren Bowles!

July 17, 2014

Find Out What’s in Store for Holly and the Rest of Bon Temps in Season 7:

Lauren Bowles stars as Holly Cleary and Chris Bauer stars as Andy Bellefleur in HBO's True Blood Season 7For Holly (Lauren Bowles) the start of HBO’s True Blood Season 7 was a bit of a bummer. One minute she was hanging with her friends at Bellefleurs, the next she was held captive in the cold and gloomy basement of Fangtasia’s:

…After we got those first couple scripts. I thought, “Oh my God, I’m going to spend all season in the saw room.”… Other than your ass getting awful sore from sitting on that floor for so long, we had so much fun. Our first day of filming — with the wonderful Mr. Moyer as our director, by the way — was in that saw room. Carrie and I started laughing because, literally, our first take of the season was just us screaming our little heads off. She turned to me and said, “Season 7, just start screamin’,” so we decided that should be the tagline for the final season.

It took three episodes and a significant body count, but Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) finally roped in enough humans, shifters and vampires to rescue Holly, Arlene (Carrie Preston) and Jane Bodehouse (Patricia Bethune).  Now that they are all safe and sound (albeit completely mentally shaken), will things quieten down in Bon Temps? Lauren say no, but she did hint at the fact that her boyfriend, Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) may propose before the end of True Blood. Which sounds like a good way to end the show – with a wedding! And, speaking of finales, she had this to say about the end of Season 7 and whether it has complete closure for the show or if there is the possibility of something more:

It’s kind of both. Certain things are wrapped up — like, the final nail is put on the coffin — and for others, you see how certain people’s lives could continue. I keep joking with our showrunner [Brian Buckner] about doing a True Blood movie, and he just looks at me like he wants to kill me. And I just say, “Come on, all the HBO shows are doing it!”

How do you think HBO’s True Blood Season 7 will wrap up? Let us know in the comments below!

True Blood Season 6 Finale Spoilers: The Stakes Are High!

August 18, 2013

Who Will Die? Who Will Sookie End up With?

Robert Kazinsky (Warlow / Ben Flynn) and Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) star in the HBO True Blood Season 6 finaleTruebie fans are frantically counting down the hours to HBO’s True Blood Season 6 finale. And there are literally just mere hours to go until all our True Blood questions are answered for this season (and more questions raised to keep us wondering until True Blood Season 7).

Searching the web today, this is what TrueBloodNet have found for you in relation to the True Blood Season 6 finale:

  • According to Lauren Bowles (who plays Holly Cleary), things will be shaken up considerably to ready fans for True Blood Season 7:

The end of this season, I think, is going to surprise everyone. I love the direction that it goes in — I’m not sure if everyone will — but I do. And I can promise that you won’t be bored. It really takes the show and blows it up in a way that will make everyone clamor for season seven.

  •  As for her relationship with Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), she is less optimistic about the outcome. As she points out, happy couples don’t last very long on True Blood. So it looks like we’ll just have to enjoy their happiness for as long as it lasts. Perhaps, with the possibility of Andy confronting Jessica Hamby this week will be the beginning of the end for this pair?
  • While there are expected to be more deaths in Episode 10 (entitled Radioactive) of True Blood, showrunner Brian Buckner says it won’t be as bloody as Episode 9 (entitled Life Matters). It will, however, have a bit of a time jump.
  • As a result of the time jump, we will see the first half of the episode dealing with a Warlow (Robert Kazinsky) who is becoming less patient with Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin). Considering Warlow was billed as being the big bad guy this season, this is a little concerning to hear. How will Sookie fare? And in what state will she enter True Blood Season 7: human or vampire?
  • The second part of Episode 10 will help to draw the characters back to Bon Temps and set the scene for Season 7. According to Deborah Ann Woll (who plays Jessica Hamby):
We have a couple of scenes at the end of this season where we were all there. It was amazing to see, like, the 20 cast chairs lined up with names of people I only see once a month.
  • Brian Buckner has also confirmed we will see Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard) make at least one more appearance in the True Blood finale. It could possibly be a nude scene too:

There’s definitely something for the ladies and the gay men. We might see a certain body part.

However, considering we saw Eric heal Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) in Episode 9, it is possible this scene may just be a figment of Jason’s imagination!

Let us know what you think will go down in the season finale of HBO’s True Blood Season 6 by commenting below.

True Blood Season 6 – Will Sookie Die?

June 21, 2013

Lauren Bowles Has The Answer:

Anna Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood Season 6

With all the speculation about who will die in True Blood’s Season 6 after Brian Buckner spilled the beans early this month, Truebie fans are starting to panic!

And I don’t blame them – even the least liked main characters have been an integral part of our lives for more than five years now. Many people are speculating over how ‘major’ the major character really is. After all, would HBO kill off Sookie (Anna Paquin), Bill/Billith (Stephen Moyer) or Eric (Alexander Skarsgard)?

It seems the answer is no – or at least not Sookie. Lauren Bowles (who plays Holly Cleary) had this to say to about the major death occurring in True Blood’s Season 6:

It completely surprised me. There’s not much to say other than it’s completely heartbreaking. It’s heartbreaking. But I really will say it’s one of those that I cried when I read it. Everyone at the table read was crying because in addition to who it is – and by the way, I’m saying that meaning it might be Holly, you don’t know – it truly could be anyone. I think it’s safe to say it’s not Sookie but other than that, it really could be anyone and it is so beautifully done. So it really is heartbreaking.

Well, if it’s not Sookie, who is it then? At the live True Blood Season 6 premiere event, Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur) also had this to say about it:

This is a season that takes its toll on the humans, for sure.

So does that mean the major death will be a human character? Well, only time will tell!

Lauren Bowles Talks True Blood Season Four

March 12, 2011

Why We Love Her

During an interview for Hall Pass, Lauren Bowles was around to ask some questions about the new season four of True Blood. Lauren is  known to us “truebies” as Holly Clearly who is a witchy waitress at Merlottes with an adorable little boy.

True News

While Lauren was careful about what she said,

“I want to keep my job”, she did spill the beans on a few things.  Lauren says, “”I can say that because Alan [Ball] acknowledged that at the end of last season, that this year would be the season of the witch. Anything that’s already out there I can confirm. But outside of that, not much. I can tell you this much: it’s a fantastic job and I’d like to hold on to it.”

She dishes on the cast by saying that they are all truly that nice, and awesome to work with on a show.

Hall Pass

Her recently released movie Hall Pass was talked about as well, where she described working with the Farrelly Brothers as a dream, and while at that time she had not seen the whole movie, she was very excited about the production.

Can’t wait to see this witch again and more this season starting in June.

True Blood’s Sam Trammell and Lauren Bowles on Set

March 3, 2011

Spoiler Alert!  Spotted on Location:

True Blood's Sam Trammell & Lauren Bowles on Set

Read on if you don’t mind finding out beforehand what’s going to happen on our favorite show, HBO‘s True Blood.  On February 24th, a lucky photographer got some great shots of Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte), Lauren Bowles (Holly Cleary) and Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur) on set filming a new episode.  They were on location in Eagle Rock, CA.  The scene involved Sam and Detective Andy Bellefleur coming to Holly’s aid, as her house was on fire.  It looks like they manage to save her couch.

In other news, it’s been confirmed that our favorite maker, Godric (Allan Hyde), will be returning for what we can only presume to be flashbacks.  Are you excited, Truebies?  We think season four is gearing up to be another fine season.  Check out the pictures of the cast on location here.

Lauren Bowles of True Blood on Wiccans and Witches and Weres

September 13, 2010

When Lauren Bowles found out about the audition for the role of Holly Cleary on the Emmy Award winning HBO series, True Blood, she was “over the moon”. Lauren reveals in her latest interview with thetvchick that since she never really thought she’d actually get the role of Holly, why not just go enjoy meeting everyone and do her best?”When I got the call,” Lauren says,” I can’t even tell you, it’s like I spontaneously combusted. I was so excited.” She was also a big fan of Alan Ball long before True Blood and considered American Beauty one of her all time favorite movies. Lauren believes Alan Ball is brilliant says, “I think becoming a part of something that he’s at the helm of, was really just an absolute dream come true.”

What Makes the Show and The Role of Holly So Special?

I’ve done guest spots on a gazillion different shows. And when you just come in to do the one show for a week and then you’re gone, you’re really more of a literary device than you are a real person or character. It’s hard to develop something quickly, and so that’s what great fun about her. I really think they’ve got a good vision of her and where they want her to go and so that’s been great fun to just sort of play a more fleshed out character. And then on top of it, I know this is a boring sound byte and you’ll think it’s just bullshit, but it’s the coolest set and I’m not just saying that. It truly is. Because trust me, I’ve been on plenty of sets that just are like “Oh God, get me out of here.” This is just the opposite of that. It really is. Everyone from wardrobe to makeup to hair to the cast to the writers and producers, everyone just seems really happy to be here. That’s rare.

Black Cat Got Your Tongue?

Lauren mentioned that the only information about her character, or the show, that she can discuss is what has already been revealed.  But she admits, “I’m not really being coy either, I have really no idea where they plan to go with her.  Lauren believes Holly is intuitive,  grounded and that her character has a huge heart and relates to people. She believes Holly and Arlene share common experiences such as being working moms and that’s what brought them together. She also noted that she’d love to see the relationship between Holly and Arlene expand and a friendship with Sookie would be wonderful. Finally it’d just be wonderful to be integrated into the town in general.

What Has Been the Most Difficult Part So Far?

Probably just learning to honor the tone in the world that I’m entering, and wanting to feel like “Okay, I’m here and I fit and it looks like I should be here.” Just because when you’re new to the party, there’s always that wallflower in all of us that’s sort of like “Oh wait, how’d I get here? Wait, I want to do good.” And so I’d probably say that element. Because just like I said, I’m such a fan, so I really wanted to make sure that I honored the world.

Can’t We All Just Get Along?

When it comes to fangs versus fur Lauren believes Holly is very open minded. She doesn’t think her character would judge a person, or animal for that matter, by their gene pool.  She thinks that Holly depends more on her powers of intuition to help her sense who is good or who is up to no good.
And if you’re wondering if there are any fellas in Bon Temps that Lauren thinks Holly would like to hang out with,  the answer is, YES!  Hoyt and Jason.  She says she’s a huge fan of both of these gentlemen as well as all the vampires.  She admitted it doesn’t hurt in the least that all of the guys are pretty easy on the eyes.
As for whom Lauren hangs out with in her personal life? Well, that would be her husband, fellow actor, Patrick Fischler.  The two love nothing better than sitting around and watching television together. Something tells me we aren’t the only fans who’ll be impatiently waiting for the next season of True Blood to air.
