True Blood Season 7: Will Pam and Tara Hook Up?

Or Will Pam Continue Her Search For Eric Northman?

Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam) and Rutina Wesley (Tara) star in HBO's True Blood Season 6

At he end of HBO’s True Blood Season 5 we saw a passionate kiss between Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) and her newly made progeny, Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley). In Season 6, with all the separation between the two of them at vamp camp and a Pam who announced early on in the season that their relationship was not going to be a love story, things looked grim for the hot new pair.

But what about in True Blood’s Season 7? Could their romance bloom now they are free from the claustrophobic environment of vamp camp? Could being able to (briefly) walk in the sun bring them closer together? Or will Pam spend the entire season looking for her maker, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard)?

Michael Ausiello from TVLine got the opportunity to ask True Blood’s newest showrunner, Brian Buckner, about where the relationship between Pam and Tara is headed. Here is what Buckner had to say:

As the audience heard Pam say in Episode 1, life is long — especially for vampires. She also told Tara that this is not going to be a love story. But I would urge [fans] to be patient. Because if the show delivers on the audience’s expectation every week, that’s not storytelling. Where’s the surprise in that? These [story] threads can be picked up later. I want to be able to tell more interesting, circuitous stories at times and not always deliver on the junk-food promise of the show.

Well, isn’t that interesting? It seems we just have to be a little more patient in this department, but it sure sounds promising.

What do you think? Are you loving the Pam and Tara snark combined into the one relationship? Let us know in the comments below.

True Blood’s Alex Skarsgård Has Praise for Co-Stars

HBO’s Viking Vamp Dishes On Castmates:

Alexander Skarsgård as Eric NorthmanWith the return of True Blood for Season 5 on June 10, and the release of ‘Battleship’ into theaters on May 18, fans of Alexander Skarsgård (Eric Northman) will have much to enjoy this summer.

Skarsgård’s film, ‘Battleship’, also marks the acting debut of singer Rhianna. Skarsgård shares several scenes with her and says he was not at all surprised at how easily she took to acting.

“I was honestly not surprised. Just like, watching her on stage, or her videos, you can tell [from] her energy and her charisma and personality, you know that she’s gonna be great in that part. I knew that and she really is.”

New to the cast of True Blood for Season 5, but making his return to HBO, is Chris Meloni (Oz, Law & Order: SVU). Skarsgård regards Meloni, who plays Vampire Authority member Roman, as a great addition to the cast.

“It wasn’t easy. His first day was basically him coming in. It was five pages of dialogue. Half of it was in Aramaic. That was like, ‘Welcome to the show, Chris.’ But he’s a trooper, a really amazing actor – obviously — and a great guy. We’ve had a lot of fun together on the show.”

It’s no secret that Skarsgård and True Blood co-star, Kristin Bauer Van Straten (Pamela DeBeaufort) have always held one another in very high regard.  A recent teaser video, released by HBO, gives us a peek at a scene that might indicate a rift between the Viking Vampire Eric Northman and his progeny, Pam. Does Eric release his child? Do they find a way to ‘kiss and make up’? What do you think?

True Blood Season 5: Death, Lube, and Drinks

What a Normal Day on the Set of True Blood is Like:

Wall of True DeathSo we know that HBO’s True Blood isn’t your normal, average, everyday kind of show. If it were, True Blood definitely wouldn’t be the phenomenon it is today.  The production office has a Wall of True Death so they can keep track of those Bon Temps residents that are among the dearly departed.

Set costumers design quite the fantasy-oriented clothing for True Blood cast members — this includes lubing up Pam de Beaufort’s latex outfit.

Latex and Lubricant

Do you ever think about how the prop department keeps track of all the drinks being served at Fangtasia and Merlotte’s? Well now we know the process doesn’t look all that sophisticated! Seeing these pictures reminds me that we are that much closer to Season 5!

Creating True Blood’s Pam de Beaufort’s Decomposing Face

How Pam’s Zombie Look Was Achieved:

Kristin as rotting PamSpecial FX Producer, Dan Rebert, gave us a little behind-the-scenes look at how HBO’s True Blood’s Pam de Beaufort’s decomposing/zombie look was created. Five stages were used throughout the whole process.

The first stage is composed of three tiny stages of make-up. Subtle pieces of make-up began the transformation and a visual effects reveal acted as a catalyst to continue the disfiguration. The second stage is composed of a face peel, where the skin on Pam’s face can be ripped off. A nose piece and dental piece were created as well. The third stage ignited Pam’s healing. The fourth stage signals Pam’s skin renewal, also known as what she looks like after the surgical wrap and face peel mask have been completely removed. The fifth and final stage is the tattoos that show the muscles and veins as Pam is healing.

Rebert said:

“The stuff we did on Pam was probably some of my favorite stuff we’ve done for True Blood…actually [Kristin Bauer] told me that running in heels in the woods was way worse than wearing any of the make-up.”

Hey Truebies, to get a great visual image of the transformation, check out the video!

A Little Birdie Told Me: Kristin Bauer Started a Petition

A Petition to Protect All Chimpanzees:

Kristin Bauer van Straten (vampire Pam)Truebies, Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam de Beaufort) has a new cause. She has started a petition to save the chimpanzee. The petition on change.org. is to get the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to protect all chimps. Chimps have been recognized as an endangered species by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service since 1990, but only wild chimps are protected. She wants the chimps in captivity saved under the same Endangered Species Act (ESA). She explains:

“I’ve been working with the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine to speak out against chimpanzee experiments in the United States. We now have an opportunity to protect all chimpanzees in captivity in the U.S.”

chimp (change.org)In order to make a difference, the petition needs 5,000 signatures. There are currently less than 4,000. True Blood’s Kristin Bauer van Straten on Playing Pam

Sink Your Teeth into the Real Pam de Beaufort:

Kristin Bauer van Straten as Pam de BeaufortKristin Bauer van Straten, who plays the cold-hearted and ferocious vampire Pam de Beaufort on HBO’s True Blood, loves playing Bon Temps’ biggest and baddest bitch. Bauer, who was not familiar with the show before she got the role, still gets recognized as Jerry’s girlfriend from the hit TV show Seinfeld.

On how her life has changed since True Blood started airing:

“Well, I now have to shower and wear some makeup to go to Starbucks. I have to borrow a little from Pam — be a tad more vain, as I could never say, “no” to a fan wanting a photo because I’m not wearing mascara. And I get asked my thoughts on things and I have lots to say about rights and free will, especially regarding animals, as they are truly innocent and voiceless.”

On her favorite True Blood character(s) to mingle with:

“I am very partial to my maker, Eric [played by Alexander Skarsgård]. But I also have gotten to threaten Lafayette, flirt with Sookie, scowl at Bill, try to kill Tara a few times, ignore Ginger‘s screams, check out Jason and give horrible advice to Jessica.”

So how does she do Pam so well? The actress says she tries to be as dry and sarcastic as possible, but she credits her work environment for most of her success. She says that after spending up to five hours in hair, makeup and costume, then walking onto True Blood’s beautiful sets with its wonderful actors, that it just all comes together — Pam is born.

Truebies, don’t we all love Pam? What’s your favorite thing about her? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

A Little Birdie Told Me: True Blood Cast Members Attend Spooky Empire!

Sam Trammell, Kristin Bauer, and Mariana Klaveno Attend Florida Convention:

Truebies, I had the pleasure of attending Spooky Empire on October 7-9, 2011 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. At the convention there were many actors, authors, and people in the music business. The weekend consisted of Q&As, Photo Ops, autograph sessions, parties where you could mingle with the stars, movies, seminars, and a zombie walk. Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte), Kristin Bauer (Pam de Beaufort), and Mariana Klaveno (Lorena Krasiki) were among the attendees. I spoke with them while getting their autographs, they were very nice and personable. I had met Sam and Kristin at a previous convention. I asked Sam how his new babies were, and he said:

“They are doing great, they are 8 weeks now.”

Mariana was very sweet, I told her she was great on the show. Kristin is nothing like Pam on the show she is really sweet and nice, she was that way both times we met. If you want to get more information about Spooky Empire please visit the website here.

“Just got to Vancouver & had fantastical wardrobe fitting! Not sure Maleficent’s future But the present is pretty fun!”

True Blood’s Kristin Bauer van Straten Talks to Bella Sugar

Kristin Bauer van Straten Talks Vampire Style with Runway

Her Style, On and Off-screen:

Kristin Bauer van Straten, vampire Pam on HBO's True BloodRecently Runway interviewed Kristin Bauer van Straten (who plays vampire Pam on HBO’s True Blood) about what makes Pam such a stylish vampire.

The actress was quick to praise the True Blood costume designer, Audrey Fisher and summed Pam’s unique style up as such:

“What I love about Pam is that she dresses for every single occasion. She really is a Barbie. In season one-for the vampire trial-she was Safari Barbie. For her day job before the club opens, she was Exercise Barbie (even though a vampire doesn’t need to exercise). We have done Harley Barbie. Kill Someone Barbie. Ladies Who Lunch Barbie. But a consistent theme, thanks to our costume designer Audrey [Fisher], is that every single detail is perfect.”

Bauer pointed out her own personal style faves too. She prefers Gap and Frye for something comfortable to wear. But when it comes to the red carpet, she is partial to Ralph Lauren.

As for vampires in general? Well, she admitted that she was known to leave her window open when she was younger in hopes that a vampire would come for her. Now, however, she loves the fact that she gets to play a vampire who loves being exactly what she is.

In real life, Bauer is not only an accomplished artist, but an advocate for animal welfare. She admits that she is not the only person on set who is environmentally conscious also.

“We have a couple of obsessive recyclers. We really have a lot of do-gooders on this set. At table reads, we’re often signing items for charity auctions. This goes all the way to the top of our show and our network — from animal rights to gay rights to help for disease research [to aid for] third-world children. It’s an amazing group of people.”

Speaking of artwork, she quite often uses her own artwork to raise money for her favorite charities. Currently she is planning to do a piece on Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) to help raise money for the Amanda Foundation (a dog and cat rescue charity). There will be a concert also, that features True Blood cast members.

Beautiful, talented, and full of heart? We’ve got nothing but love for this lady. Truebies, would you agree?
