A Tribute to Tommy

We Say Goodbye to a Character:

Marshall Allman as Tommy S4 Ep9During episode nine of season 4, titled “Let’s Get Out of Here”, Tommy Mickens (Marshall Allman) who plays Sam Merlotte’s (Sam Trammell) brother, again shifts into Sam. He is able to “skinwalk” because he killed his parents. We found out that could happen from Luna, Sam’s love interest. Her mother died giving birth to her, and she shifted into her mother once. Tommy shifts into Sam to protect him from werewolf pack leader Marcus, who was married to Luna. Tommy as Sam goes to meet Marcus, and when he arrives there are other pack members, along with Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello). After some heated words, all the werewolves (except Alcide) proceed to beat the living daylights out of Tommy. After several blows, Tommy turns back into himself. Marcus becomes alarmed, and Alcide picks Tommy up and leaves. During the last episode, “Burning Down the House”, Alcide wants to take Tommy to the hospital, but Tommy declines, sensing that he’s not going to make it, and prefers to go home instead. They arrive at Merlotte’s the same time as Sam, who is frantic, and wants to get him some vampire blood to save him. Tommy declines, knowing he is dying, and having come to terms with it. Inside, the brothers share some last words, and a tender moment, seeming to work through their issues. Sam sheds some tears, and Tommy dies.

We’re sorry to see Marshall go, he played his character well. Here is a small photo tribute to Tommy:

Sam Trammell of True Blood Answers Fans’ Questions

Sam Trammell Participates in Live Web Q&A:

Sam Trammell S4 Ep6Connect.hbo.com conducted a live Q & A with Sam Trammell and lucky fans. Trammell was only able to answer 30 questions, though many more were asked.  After being introduced, he cheerfully said:

“Hey! I’m so excited to be here. I’m gonna try to answer as many questions as possible. Let’s do this!”

He then went on to answer fan questions. There were a variety of questions asked, for example:

“Are you currently working on anything else other than True Blood? Will you do any movies in the future?”

Trammell answered:

“I’m just waiting on these babies right now…”

Another fan asked,

“How do you feel about Sam’s new love interest?”

His response:

Janina is an exceptional actress and fun and funny — so I love working with her — and I think Luna is good for Sam right now (she’s not leading him to be staked in the heart at least).”

We learn that he has been acting for twenty years, that he loved playing Tommy as Sam, and that he’d like to see everyone on the show turn into Sam at some point. You can view all the questions and answers via this link.

Let us know what you think, and what you would have asked if you had participated in the Q and A. Leave a comment in the comment section below.

Will True Blood’s Eric and Sookie Have Their Long Awaited Shower Scene?

Comic-Con’s True Blood Panel Delivers Elusive Answers (SPOILERS!):

TB cast at Comic-Con 2011 AP Photo/Denis Poroy

The question on everyone’s mind at Comic-Con was: will there be a shower scene and how closely will it follow the book? Alan Ball‘s response:

“There will be a moment where Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) are together in the shower. But it may be weirder and dirtier than the one in the book.”

Weirder and dirtier? Well we should expect nothing less from True Blood. Who wants clean and normal? Ball also commented on Season 5 and promises that there will be a male/female strip club. Ball also said that at the strip club there would be “a completely different twisted supernatural aspect”.

Many fans asked if Sam (Sam Trammell) and Tara (Rutina Wesley) have any hope of getting back together or if their romance is over? Ball’s response was evasive: “Nothing is ever done on this show.” Something we all know to be true on True Blood.

We will also get to see how Eric made his progeny Pam (Kristin Bauer) next season, something many fans have been waiting a long time to see.

The Comic-Con crowd got a sneak peak at a trailer for the rest of Season 4. It ends with Sookie lying on the ground in a graveyard bleeding from the stomach. A million questions rush through one’s head after seeing it, but we shall just have to wait until next Sunday and the Sunday after that…

Alan Ball did make a rather mysterious statement about Sookie and her Fairy heritage:

“For those who read the books, you know that fairies are born in litters and are identical.”

Does this mean we will be seeing more of Claudine in some way?

Many of us have been wondering, why haven’t we seen more naked Sookie? Ball’s answer:

“She takes her clothes off all the time.”

Thank goodness, because a naked Sookie usually means there is a naked vampire!

Were any of you lucky enough to attend the panel?  Share your experience with us in the comment section!

Spoiler: Sam Trammell Spills the Beans on Season 4

**Spoiler Alerts for Sam Merlotte**

True Blood's Sam Trammell as Sam MerlotteIn Season 3 of True Blood, Sam Merlotte was left holding a gun to his brother’s head. So what happens next? According to Sam Trammell, Tommy survives. However, he is not sure how yet:

“We still don’t know whether I shot him or not. But he’s definitely around.”

Sam admits that the rest of his family will come back to haunt him this season, athough whether that is physcially or mentally, it is unsure.

There will also be a new love interest for Sam Merlotte. A lovely little shape-shifter, who goes by the name Luna (played by Janina Gavankar). She’s part of a new community he meets. Trammell says we’ll meet more like him this season.

The actor admits that he is a big fan of the novels by Charlaine Harris that inspired the series, True Blood. He finds her work “incredible” and says that he is always amazed at the popularity of both the books and the TV series.  He recently said after his experience with the massive fan base that turned up at Comic Con:

“You feel like you’re The Rolling Stones or something walking out on that stage.”
With only a short time before Season 4 starts up, let’s hope there are more leaks like this one to tide us over until June 26!

Season 4 Spoilers of the Supernatural Variety

Mayhem in Bon Temps:

Joe Manganiello as Alcide We’ve got some mild spoilers for you, straight from the horse’s mouth.  Or rather, the werewolf’s, witch’s, and shifter’s.  Joe Manganiello, who plays True Blood’s werewolf Alcide, gives us a general feel for the ambiance next season:

“There’s going to be a lot of people not getting along. The witches are starting trouble with the vampires, and the werewolves, of course, don’t like the vampires, either. And the fairies don’t like the vampires.”

Kevin Alejandro portrays Lafayette’s boyfriend, Jesus Velasquez.  He just happens to be a brujo, or male witch, and ends up sharing a disgusting meal with his man:

“Lafayette and I go on a huge adventure where some unfortunate things happen. We end up having a very creepy breakfast with some really interesting people, and Lafayette has a real hard time with it. It’s going to turn your stomach!”

Which would you rather eat, poisonous snake venom, goat tongue, or cow face?  None of the above, you say?  Well, unfortunately, the handsome couple do end up ingesting one of those three “delicacies”.

A brother-battle ensues as Sam and Tommy take to the skies as an owl and a hawk — but the shape-shifting doesn’t end there.  According to Marshall Allman (Tommy):

“Tommy takes shape-shifting to a whole other level with a unique wild-card creature that will prove to be a game-changer in Bon Temps’ supernatural power play.”

How much crazier can it get?  We’ll all have to wait and see!

Spoilers! What’s in Store for Season 4?

The Inside Scoop on Sam, Tara, Hoyt and Jessica:

Waiting does suck, but spoilers sure do make it easier! Thanks to Eonline and ClevverTV we’ve got a few new teasers to pass along. Who will fall in love? Who will find happiness? And who will do some father-daughter bonding?

Sam

Sam Trammell as Sam Merlotte in True BloodIs love in the air for Sam in Season 4? Well, maybe. Sam Trammel (Sam Merlotte) does admit his character will be getting a new love interest, but how long it will last is a mystery. In the past, the ladies romantically involved with Sam didn’t last long. Let’s hope the new lady in his life survives. Regarding the show, he also adds it will:

“Explore the shape shifter community a little bit more, so there’s going to be a lot of cool mythological stuff.”

Tara

Rutina Wesley as Tara Thornton True BloodIt seems things might be getting better this season for Tara. Quality time with her best friend Sookie is sure to help. But in true Tara fashion, things won’t be rosy for long. And on top of it all Tara will spend some time thinking about Sam Merlotte and his shape-shifting ways.

Jessica & Hoyt

Jessica and Hoyt True BloodCan their blossoming relationship stay perfect for much longer? Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica Hamby) dished on Jessica and Hoyt, admitting that the first two episodes will pick up with “a bit more trouble happening.” On the bright side it seems Jessica will finally get some much needed mentorship from Bill.

Love for Luna: Meet One of True Blood Season 4’s New Characters

Meet and Greet with Luna

New TrueBlood cast member Janina Gavankar sat down with Inside TrueBlood to briefly dish about Luna, the schoolteacher she plays in the upcoming Season 4 of True Blood. Like all the members of the True Blood cast, she’s careful about what details she reveals.

However, we can be confident that Luna and Sam Merlotte (played by Sam Trammell) are thrown together from the start and that romance is in the air for Bon Temps favorite bar owner. As is evidenced by this clip. Gavankar reveals she’s worked mostly with Sam and that her second day of shooting was actually a night shoot in freezing cold weather. She also says Lafayette is her favorite character and that she’s Team Bill.

Says Gavankar of what fans will like about the Luna story line:

“I think they’ll enjoy watching a nice girl from outside of Bon Temps fall for Sam Merlotte. I know there are plenty of fans who would love him to find a nice girl… Luna could be that person!”

First Look at Luna and Sam

HBO is ramping up the anticipation for True Blood season 4! We’ve already seen what Eric (Alexander Skarsgård), Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll), Hoyt (Jim Parrack), and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) have been up to. But now it’s Sam’s (Sam Trammell) turn. Truebies may recall that Sam Trammell said that he might be getting a love interest. But is Luna (Janina Gavankar) the one? Either way, she’s got some major issues, admitting to Sam she has a stalkery werewolf ex-boyfriend.

Fresh Spoilers for Season 4 from Alan Ball and Cast

Spoilers Galore! What to Expect From the Main Characters:

True Blood PaleyFest 2011Alan Ball and most of the True Blood cast were at PaleyFest 2011, spilling beans left and right.  If you’d like to remain in the dark and be surprised come June, please stop reading!

The scoop on Sookie: Only four episodes have been shot, but she’s already kissed two people.  Hint — neither one was Bill!  Ball assures us Sookie won’t be forgiving Bill any time soon.  Well, no one can blame her.  As you may recall, it was revealed last season that Bill was actually sent Sookie’s way by the Queen (Evan Rachel Wood).  He let Sookie get beat up so that he could heal her, by way of making her drink his blood, thus guaranteeing a bond between the two.  According to Ball: “The betrayal is so deep that I don’t think she sees a way back from that.  That’s why we need 17 seasons!”  In the meantime, Sookie’s learned a few things while cavorting with the fairies.  Just not how to control her “microwave fingers”.

What’s happening with Bill?  Last we saw, he and Queen Sophie-Anne were in full attack mode in mid-air.  The only thing Ball will say is, “There is a bite-off [between Bill and the Queen]. Things happen.  It’s not just the two of them involved”.  Hmm… cryptic, much?

And finally, the lowdown on Eric: to the delight of many, it’s been confirmed he will have amnesia.  How does it happen?  Why?  We don’t know the details, but here is Alexander Skarsgård‘s take:

“He messed with the wrong people, he’s definitely not stable.  He doesn’t know who he is anymore… Eric needs help.  There are a lot of friendly people in Bon Temps kind enough to help.  The powerful character he was is just gone.  He’s the polar opposite of who he used to be.  He’s just completely lost… and very vulnerable.”

The Merlotte’s Gang:

What is the deal with Arlene‘s baby?  Or, as Ball puts it, her “evil” baby?  Rene’s progeny will be born tout de suite, and Terry will become a loving, proud papa.  Says Carrie Preston (Arlene), “That problem grows exponentially”.

Where is Tara Mae?  Thankfully, we’ll find out soon enough.  The old Tara is back in Bon Temps, minus the long hair.  What can we expect from her? Rutina Wesley says, “She may find some happiness, but just for a bit… You’ll find out early on where she’s been”.

Ring ring, hookah, ring ring.  Lafayette‘s gentleman caller, Jesus, revealed himself to be a brujo (witch), and clearly, a spell has been cast.  Whether it’s a literal spell, or Lafayette is simply in love, we don’t know for sure.  But we are certainly looking forward to finding out.

Speaking of lovers, things are looking good for Jessica and Hoyt.  Well, to a degree.  They’ll be facing many obstacles, but at least they’ll be facing them together.  Or will they?  Remember Mrs. Fortenberry?  “Mom is awful”, says Jim Parrack.  The rest of the anti-vamp populace also adds to their problems.  However, according to Parrack, we need not despair.  “Jessica is the one,” he says.

Last but not least, we have Mr. Merlotte himself, Sam.  The poor guy hasn’t had much luck in the love department, but he’s being given another chance.  According to Trammell, “I get another shot.  I’m at bat again.  I think Sam will sober up.”  But leave it to Alan Ball to throw a wrench in things.  Concerning Sam’s sobriety, Ball says, “He can do that for one episode”.  Why would that be?  Ah, remember how Sam shot his brother?  That may come back to bite him in the butt.

As for the Rest of Bon Temps (And Its Environs):

Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) was last seen in Hotshot, delivering a sweet, heartfelt speech.  Entrusted with the care of his werepanther girlfriend’s kin, we can only assume he’ll be doing his “Jason” best.  The only thing we’re going to get out of Kwanten is, “He should not be looking after an entire village of meth addicts — he’s Jason Stackhouse.”

While we’re on the subject of drugs, let’s talk about V — vampire blood.  Who’s it going to affect this season?  If you recall, Andy Bellefleur kept a vial of it, and curiosity’s going to get the better of him.  Oh, Andy.  What kind of mishaps are we going to see now?

Who’s rising from the dead?  Or is it the undead?  The final death?  Whichever one it is, the answer is no one.  We will, however, see Godric again, presumably by way of flashbacks.  Can you guess who else is back, but in the flesh?  The Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington.  Says Alan Ball, “We have definite plans to bring him back — and he’s gonna be pissed”.

Now for our favorite were, Alcide: Will he be hooking up with Sookie, or is he still not over Debbie?  As for Debbie, Manganiello says, “she’s still alive and at large, so you never know”.  We do know for certain, however, that Alcide will be spending time with Sookie.  Which is sure to set Debbie off.

A few last tidbits from Alan Ball: coming to the show will be “some new witches, new vampires, new humans, a new werewolf, and a child”, and in animal form, “a gator, a rattlesnake, and an attack owl”.

There you have it, folks.  Those are all the official spoilers we have for now, but rest assured we’ll keep them coming.  Who’s excited for Season 4?!

Sam Trammell Will Be Getting Naked in True Blood Season 4

Sam Trammell talks Shapeshifters, Nudity, etc.

Sam Trammell won’t be eating Thanksgiving dinner this year. Instead, he’ll be focusing on looking his best for the beginning of filming the fourth season of True Blood. The actor, who plays our favorite shifter/bar owner Sam Merlotte, told NBCNewYork.com writer Scott Huver that he’ll be filming scenes in the nude almost immediately after he gets back on set.

Bon Temps is also up for an upheaval of sorts. According to Sam, not only are there new characters that he’ll be interacting with, but more shapeshifter drama will occur. Sam said,

“There are gonna be some really cool shapeshifter-y things happening. There might be a shapeshifter community that we meet. And I can’t say what it is, but there’s something that happened that sort of changes everything, something at the beginning changes everything in town. So it’s going to be cool, because you have the same characters and the same deal, but there’s going to be something that makes it all fresh.”

Better yet, fans won’t have to wait long to see the first OMG! moment of Season 4 of True Blood. According to Sam, it happens very early on in the first episode of the new season.

Are the spoilers making you more excited for the upcoming Season 4 of True Blood?

True Blood’s Sam Trammell and Lauren Bowles on Set

Spoiler Alert!  Spotted on Location:

True Blood's Sam Trammell & Lauren Bowles on Set

Read on if you don’t mind finding out beforehand what’s going to happen on our favorite show, HBO‘s True Blood.  On February 24th, a lucky photographer got some great shots of Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte), Lauren Bowles (Holly Cleary) and Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur) on set filming a new episode.  They were on location in Eagle Rock, CA.  The scene involved Sam and Detective Andy Bellefleur coming to Holly’s aid, as her house was on fire.  It looks like they manage to save her couch.

In other news, it’s been confirmed that our favorite maker, Godric (Allan Hyde), will be returning for what we can only presume to be flashbacks.  Are you excited, Truebies?  We think season four is gearing up to be another fine season.  Check out the pictures of the cast on location here.

True Blood Season Four Spoilers: E!’s Kristin Gets the Scoop on Someone’s New Love Interest

Overheard at the Grove

true-blood-castMondays are spoiler days on the internet and this freshly published set does not disappoint!  Every week, I make a point of asking Kristin from E! if she has any True Blood tidbits to share and this week I was fortunate to have my request answered with one of three pieces of scoop concerning the show. Kristin’s crew was fortunate to have a few moments with Sam Trammell (Sam Merlotte), Rutina Wesley (Tara Thornton), and Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica Hamby) at the All Together Now signing this past Saturday.

By far the most interesting revelation to come out of these conversations was a revelation given by Sam Trammell about what his character will be up to this season. We already know from previous spoilers released that Sam will find his own little community of shifters but that’s not all he finds according to Trammell:

“Sam’s [also] got a new love interest that’s going to happen this year for him. I don’t have really good luck with the ladies, they usually die—so hopefully she’ll survive.”

A new love interest huh? Well it’ll be interesting to see if this mystery woman is new to Sam or to the show as well.

Brave New Woman

Speaking of new things, Tara will be a new person according to her portrayer Rutina Wesley. As fans may recall she left town at the end of last season and apparently only Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) knows where she went. Of the change in her character, Rutina says:

“It’s a new Tara, and I think the fans are going to like it. She’s not duct-taped, she’s not tied up, she’s got this personal strength and I think it’s really awesome to see her. Sookie (Anna Paquin) and I will have some stuff this season—she’s my best friend, so we’re always going to have little moments. And we’re going to get back to how I felt about Sam Merlotte”

I for one cannot wait to see how Sam and Tara’s relationship plays out now that he’s revealed he’s a shapeshifter!

What about Jessica?

Jessica’s journey over the past three seasons has been anything but easy. However, at the end of last year it would seem that she finally found a little bit of happiness with Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack). But the show being what it is, that probably won’t last for long.  Deborah still has some positive things to look forward to with regards to her character’s growth. Especially in her relationship with Bill (Stephen Moyer):

“I think we’re definitely also in a healing stage where he’s finally accepting that he has a progeny, that he has a daughter vampire, and he needs to give me tools to actually survive. So he’s definitely more cooperative and participatory in my growing up.”

Aww! Just hearing that makes me smile! Not to mention, it gives fans of the Southern gentleman vampire hope that Bill has not become as dark as he may seem.

That’s all the True Blood scoop I have for now Truebies! But you can rest easy now knowing that we here at TBN will bring you the latest True Blood news as it is released. Fans interested in reading the chat in its entirety can click the source link below.
