True Blood 3.05 “Trouble” Review

Trouble” is an understatement for what happened on True Blood last night! Not that I didn’t love every second of it. This was my favorite episode of Season 3 so far, with some great acting from the whole cast and engaging writing by Nancy Oliver. For the first time, I felt like what was going on in Bon Temps was just as interesting as the events brewing down in Jackson, MS.

The episode begins in the King’s mansion with Talbot and Franklin throwing snide remarks at one another and baring their fangs threateningly until Russell, Lorena, and Bill walk in, still bloody from their evening meal (depressed stripper a la carte). Tied to a chair, Tara is shocked to find her best friend’s boyfriend in such strange company. Bill doesn’t do anything to rescue her from her situation, which makes Lorena gloat, as if his seeming indifference to Tara proves something. She follows him up to his room, thinking he’s just playing hard to get and will be hers again eventually. Bill couldn’t care less: “You know, Russell was right–you’re not very smart. You’ve played yourself into a corner, you tiresome cow.” (Hopefully she finally gets the message!)

Franklin presents Russell with the file on Sookie that he uncovered in Bill’s home. The King is now certain that his new Sheriff isn’t sharing everything with him. He changes his mind about Sookie and wants her brought to him. Franklin gets to tell him the joyful news–he won’t have to look far since she’s already in Jackson. The exchange between them is just one of many brilliant moments for James Frain throughout this episode, from his request that he be paid in cash (“The last time you had any real money, you ended up at the slots in Biloxi slaughtering a church group of elderly women.” “They wouldn’t let me have a turn!”), to his insistence that his relationship with Tara is different because she’s so messed up, they could be twins.

Franklin’s psychotic antics continue. He dresses Tara in a white gown and ties her to the bed. He sees a text message on her cell phone from Lafayette and is jealous until she tells him it’s her gay cousin. Franklin has lots of fun showing off how fast he can type a response with his vampire reflexes. During the day, Tara unties herself and creeps out of the house while all the vamps are dead to the world. She takes off running across the yard, but Coot chasesher down in wolf form and brings her back. When Franklin learns that she tried to escape, he cries like a baby: “[I tie you up] to keep you safe! What other reason could there be?! You have no idea how much you’ve hurt me. I feel like I’ve been staked!” Tara plays her part well. She knows she’ll lose her life if she upsets him.

Franklin later finds her crying, sitting at the table with a bowl of flowers in front of her: “Who made you cry? I’ll kill him!” “Nobody,” Tara replies. “It’s only–I’m hungry, and they brought me this. And I can’t eat daylilies.” She calmly explains that if they’re going to be together, she needs things like food. He apologizes for forgetting to take care of her, but it won’t matter in a day–he’s going to make her his vampire bride. Lesson to Tara: if you get through this, perhaps in the future you should be more cautious of strangers.

Eric arrives to visit Russell to ask for permission to hunt Bill and bring him to justice for selling vampire blood. Russell teases Eric a little bit: “Oh no! That’s heinous. Are you sure? Let’s ask him.” Bill enters, not surprised that Eric has tried to pin Queen Sophie-Anne’s plot on him. For a few seconds, Eric looks around in surprise at this new arrangement. Then he smiles at the realization that Bill has relinquished Sookie as his human. Eric turns to the King for advice on how to address the situation with Pam. Russell growls about the Magister’s outdated methods of judgment and inflated power. He invites Eric to stay while they figure out how to proceed. Bill looks grumpy about their new house guest, but Talbot couldn’t be more thrilled. The next night, he delights in giving Eric a tour of the house. Eric admires some of the interesting and beautiful objects, while Talbot admires the beautiful vampire.

Alcide drives Sookie back to his place, still upset over what happened at Lou Pine’s. He reminisces about how good Debbie could be sometimes: “She used to play horseshoes with my dad, help my mom plant tomatoes.” But whoever that woman was has been corrupted by her new pack, lost to her V addiction. She shows up later screaming at Alcide, but good intentions almost shine through–she might actually be trying to warn him for his own safety. But Debbie goes crazy when Sookie wanders in: “Awww, hell no! You’re f—ing my wolf, bitch!…I will cut you!” From overhearing her thoughts, Sookie can tell that Debbie has no idea who or where Bill is.

Jason shows up at the police station reporting for his first day on duty. Andy puts him behind the desk to answer phones, and he spends the day passing the time with various amusements–making a chain of paper clips to limbo under; paper football; playing with the fingerprinting stuff and getting ink all over his face and shirt like a little boy. He gets very frustrated and demands he be given a special assignment, so Andy sets him to work washing the police cars. When the pretty blonde girl from the drug house in Hot Shot drives by, Jason jumps in the car and follows her. He puts on the flashing lights and pulls her over. He turns on the charm, but all he gets from her is her name: Crystal. Gotta give that girl credit–confronted with a shirtless Jason and she doesn’t cave easily! He invites her to Merlotte’s that night. Even though she says she can’t come, he says he’ll be waiting. And he does. Crystal shows up just as he’s leaving, but she’s hesitant for some reason. There are things about her that she can’t explain to him. He takes her for a walk to the lake. They kiss, and she tells him this thing between them can’t last: “Now is everything. Now is perfect. I’ve never been happier in my whole life than I am right now with you.”

Lafayette has plenty of cute flirting in this episode, too. When Jesus shows up at Merlotte’s out of the blue, he thinks Ruby Jean has passed away. Jesus feels bad for scaring him, but no, she’s fine, still her rude self. He just came by to see if Lafayette wanted to go out with him. When it sinks in with Lafayette that this cute guy has no ulterior motives and just wants to spend time with him, he looks a little shy for the first time ever on this series. Jesus decides to wait around all day for him to get off work.

Tommy is less obnoxious now that Sam has proven he wants to help his family. The Mickens move in to one of the houses he rents out (looks like the same one Dawn lived in before she was killed in Season 1!). Across the street, Terry is moving in with Arlene. He’s positively beaming, and Arlene is positively sick-looking. Her bad mood continues at work, where she hurts Jessica’s feelings by not making eye contact with her because she’s afraid of being hypnotized. (So what does Jessica do, but turn around a glamour a couple not to tip Arlene). Tommy now has a job at Merlotte’s, he shares a nice moment with Jessica when Hoyt shows up with a date (“That’s a giant 6th grade boy…Come on, you’re a smoking hot vampire. You’re the majors.”), but things get weird when we start to see more into Tommy’s relationship with his father. There’s definitely something amiss there–Tommy acts all badass, but he’s clearly frightened of Joe Lee. Sam gets to witness it firsthand when Tommy stays over in his trailer that night and his father shows up infuriated.

Alcide goes out to report what he saw to his pack master. Sookie wants to find out more about Russell, but Alcide doesn’t want to bring her. She won’t take no for an answer: “Work with me, Alcide. It gets easier.” (Ha! As if…) The alpha were is a tough-looking middle aged guy. He already knew about Russell’s dealings with Coot’s pack, and other branded weres for centuries. He commands Alcide to leave it alone, just let Russell do what he wants and then he’ll move on to someplace else. Sookie listens in on the pack master’s mind and realizes how afraid he is.

Russell talks with Bill about Sookie’s family tree. He thinks Bill has been investigating where her telepathy comes from because the Queen has some big reward for him if he discovers the truth. It becomes clear that Bill has fallen out of favor. Coot comes to see Russell and Bill is sent to his room, afraid of what will be done to him. Coot comes in to see him and laughs that he gets to break the news to BillSookie is in the same city, sleeping with a werewolf. Bill’s protective instincts are awakened. He beats Coot bloody: “WHERE IS SOOKEH?!” A guard hears the noise and comes in to check. Bill smashes his face into the silver door and flees. We know that this is a trap laid by Russell, but that doesn’t stop Bill from going to her.

While on his tour with Talbot, Eric sees a gold crown with some engraved designs on it. He recognizes it as a Viking design, and he should know; it belonged to his father. The flashback that follows shows us just why Eric has a vendetta against the pack of werewolves with the ‘Operation Werwolf’ symbol branded onto their skin.

When he was a young man, Eric‘s family was Viking royalty, and had responsibilities within their community. Eric wasn’t ready to take on any those responsibilities, and he and his father argued over dinner one night about it as his mother and baby sister watched. The argument ended with Eric leaving to indulge in some youthful exploits with a redheaded goat girl. While otherwise involved, Eric hears screams and crashes, and he returns to find his entire family killed by wolves. With his father’s dying breath, he says that Eric must seek vengeance. Outside in the snow, a cloaked figure with Russell’s voice takes his father’s crown and sweeps off into the night.

Sookie is lying in bed when Alcide calls her into the living room. He steps aside, revealing Bill standing there. She runs and jumps into his arms (cue their beautiful love theme by Nathan Barr). He has no time to explain, but she has to leave immediately. It’s too late, though. Coot breaks down the door and in comes a hulking vamp to restrain Bill, and Russell (I want to know why Coot was able to invite them in when he doesn’t live there). Coot chases Sookie, but she forces him off with her electro hand shock. And Russell couldn’t be more delighted to see that.

Based on the previews, the drama in Russell’s mansion continues to heat up next week. What will Eric do now that he’s in the presence of the one responsible for his family’s death 1,000 years ago? How will Sookie escape everyone who’s out to hurt her (Russell, Lorena, Coot, Debbie, could this list get any longer)? Will Tara become a vampire?

Ok, everyone, let’s hear it–what did you think about “Trouble“?

My 16yr old son just finished watching TB up to now and there is something I noticed as I watched the end of season 2 again with him…
Remember the warning QSA gives about drinking Sookie’s blood? (“we don’t need another vampire falling in love”). Eric’s falling in love without ever tasting her – Bill not only fed her his blood the 1st night but drank from her shortly after.
Cheers

Hi All, JMHO, I realize that QSA advised Eric not to drink Sookie’s blood or he would fall for her too, but I believe that Sookie may resemble someone from his past that held a special place in his heart even though he doesnt like to notice the nice side of his actions often, and the attraction between the two goes much deeper than physical or blood, and we should see that explored as well. JMO>

      Hi Sandy and Sheila,

      Just a little fyi here.
Bill fed Sookie his blood the second night they met not the first. She would have died without it. Tara also said to Franklin that Sookie told her that for Bill and her it was “love at first sight”. Bill drank from Sookie only after she asked him to the first time they made love
      (Ahhhh the fireplace scene!!!!)

Eric does not love Sookie at this point and admitted to Isabelle that he does not love humans. I believe he is curious about her and his emotions are awakening, but I think he would be the first to say it was not love. That may change in the future but for now it is infatuation with someone “new” and he wants something that he could not have and belonged to another.

Well said, Nia! I don’t know how many times this comes up re the blood. I think it is because Eric mistakenly said that to Bill on the bridge to QSA’s that Bill gave Sookie hi sblood, that people are getting confused with is error on the Writer’s behalf or it was placed in that scene for a specific purpose that we are not aware of at this stage. Anyhow, I wish people would stop bringing this up – it is getting old.

          Sandy

Lizzie – sorry I’m still *NEW* here but if my bringing something up is getting old. Maybe this place isnt for me. *shrug*
No need to be rude about it tho

        Sandy

You do not have to “defend” Bill LOL! I remember the scenes and I know Sookie said he could. Just thought of the ramifications of it – sort of like when a human has their blood they will feel sexual attraction towards them – it seems with Sookie and Vampires (book readers know why) her blood causes them to “fall in love”!
It will be interesting to see how they play that out. Seems like they are setting Bill up for a huge fall this season with her.
Previous seasons Bill bored me, and he didnt look to great. This season I am enjoying him much more (modern clothes maybe?) – the lighting used on Mr Moyer has been to his benefit – the vamp make up toned way down (thankfully).
        Cheers

Sandy, of course, we want you here. We are a passionate bunch. Don’t take anything posted too much to heart. 🙂

          Sandy

Thanks Jaxx! Guess I get equally passionate – although I wouldnt take it out on anyone who supports Bill and has “Bill theories” LOL. I love both characters, happen to favor Eric’s at the moment.
          Thanks again.

Antonio wolfman

Ok Here’s My rundown as I see it.

I thought that Coot Deliberately “egged on” Bill So that Bill would “freak out” and go to try to protect Sookie. However,I think it backfired..Because Bill unintentionally lead them right to her! I think That was the whole plan! Remember Coot asking to speak to RE in private? Bill must have had a clue that something was up…Why the look then?
Franklin told RE that Sookie was right in Jackson. But How could they have know Where she was?? RE really didnt have too much of a hold over Alcide! Bill knew where she was because of the blood tie and maybe that is what RE and Coot were counting on?

Ok, This might sound strange given the emotional reunion of B/S,
I was kind of hoping that Bill would Not show up…Because Sookie and Alcide had developed some kind of a repoire together.
I liked the way that Alcide didnt take any crap from her and fought her about some of her ideas! I did think it was funny when she said “Just go with me,Its easier!” LOL
I like seeing Alcide “lose it” telling Sookie off!
It seems No 1 really does!
I’m also hoping that there may yet be a further attraction between Sookie and Eric! Lorena and Russell have dug their proverbial “claws” in Bill So I dont think hes a good match for her anymore! I Know that Bill Loves her But Why would he go to try to protect her when He knew that RE and Coot were hot on her trail??
I almost felt like slapping him and saying “Bill,You Idiot!”
“Now All Of YOU are in Danger!!”
This is just MHO ….No Offense! 🙂
As for not helping Tara at first i felt bad but if he let on that he knew her than Russell could use that against him and try to torture her to get more information on Sookie and Bill’s relationship to her!
Franklin just annoys me! He has some kind of sick, twisted thing going on with Tara I thought that whole “crying jag” was absurd! When Bill cries or Eric its moving when He does it its just silly I think….Once again No offence

Alcide and Coot are Definitely My Favorite Werewolves!!
They sort of have a Bill vs.Eric thing going on and That is So cool! They Both want Debbie and perhaps Sookie??
Jason a cop?? What the Heck??
Hes dumb as a box of rocks and hes gonna be a cop??
I certainly wouldnt want him on MY beat!!
If Crystal Is a shifter…Werepanther,Catwoman whatever I hope she makes him miserable!
Terry is SO happy about being with Arlene He finally feels like hes worth Something! She’d better be good to him!

I dont like RE that much either Hes a great character and a good actor but hes shifty and not to be trusted!
I cant believe how he turned on Bill!!
Talbot is a hoot
Alcide is Now 1 of my new favorites Along with Coot I dont like his attitude but he is 1 cool Were!!
Great Episode!!
I have a bad feeling about Sookie being taken into RE’s custody!
Ihope they dont make her suffer needlessly because of Bill!
Eric could help maybe but would he??

    Sandy

Franklin knew that Sookie was in Jackson from Tara. Tara knew that much but nothing specific. Hope that helps.
    Cheers
    Sandy

    ~ Caitlin

Eric will help Sookie. Right now he needs to play nice with Russell to save Pam, Sookie, and himself. Plus he needs time to figure out how to get rid of Russell. It would be dangerous if Russell knows how much Eric wants Sookie. Russell wants to collect Sookie to use to his advantage.

    jaxx

Hello Antonio!!! Your analysis actually made me laugh out loud in spots!! Too funny. 🙂

Even though he renounced Sookie, Bill does still love her. He was feeling anger and jealousy when Coot egged him on. He didn’t think of the consequences right then and there, he only wanted to see if the allegations were true or not and wanted to make sure Sookie was safe. Only after he got there, he realized RE and Coot would be coming for all of them. RE and Coot would have found Sookie eventually on their own, Bill just expedited the situation.

I think the whole idea of Franklin’s character is absurdity. That’s what makes light of the situation. Even Talbot and RE know Franklin is a freak and a psychopath. I know what he’s doing to Tara is wrong, but it is so freakishly absurd, it just makes you shake your head and chuckle, unfortunately at Tara’s expense, jimo. No offense taken here Antonio. LOL. You are certainly entitled to your opinion.

“Catwoman”. LOL. Antonio, you are seriously cracking me up today.

Russell’s “MO” is that he turns on everyone to achieve what he wants. He did it to Lorena and Bill so far and he’ll probably do it to Eric (he already killed Eric’s entire family, I can’t imagine what else he’ll do to him), Talbot (QSA proposal) and the magister as well. Russell thinks he’s invincible He’ll get his in the end, don’t worry.

I think we’re going to see Bill and Eric work together in the end or we won’t have a season 4 if everyone bites the dust.

Antonio, thank you, I needed a good laugh today. You definitely made my day with your candor (and I mean all of this in a good way). 😀

    Nia

    Hi antonio…**waves**

    Great analysis of the epi.
    You say:

“I Know that Bill Loves her but Why would he go to try to protect her when He knew that RE and Coot were hot on her trail??”

It is BECAUSE of Bills love for Sookie that he would go to try to protect/warn her. Most everything he has ever done was to protect her. Bill knew that it was just a matter of time before they got to her.

It is very plauseable that Coot edged Bill on on purpose but also I think Coot just wanted to pick a fight thinking that Bill could not escape (I knew those doors could work to Bills advantage)there is a lot of hate between the two (Bill killed his buddies after all).
Franklin knew that Sookie was in Jackson and Coot knew that Sookie was with Alcide. Even a were should be able to add 2+2, but then again this is Coot we are talking about…LOL. But do you think that Russell or Franklin couldnt do this simple math?? It really would not be hard to figure out where Sookie was at that point. Had not Bill gone when he did, the others would have gotten there shortly anyways.

Even if Bill knew that they were using him to track Sookie he also knew that it was just a matter of time before they would get to her. He escaped to warn her and try to send her away before they could get to her, without trying to save himself, knowing there was no hope for him. Instead of fleeing and saving himself, Bill signed his own death warrant by trying to save her. Another self sacrificing act for Sookie on Bills part. As much as he tried to convince her and himself otherwise, Bill loves Sookie so very deeply and will always do so.

Yet there was no time as Bill tried to explain to her, but good girl, Sookie just wanted her man. It wasnt smart but I would have done the same.
I also really like that Alcide believed in Bill. Perhaps an ally there??

Is it just me or even though as big and buff as Alcide is he still gets beat up all the time. I really like Alcide, I wonder how long it takes a weres “nutsack” to recover…LOL…ouch!

There should be plenty of building attraction between Eric and Sookie esp if Bill is out of the picture and the **spoiler** amnesia storyline takes place. That should be fun!

Personally neither vamp is good for Sookie, not even Alcide (he is to messed up over Debbie). The best man overall for Sookie would be Sam. He is a safe bet.

But sadly is a safe bet ever truly love? It would be nice in a perfect world.

    lizzie1701

    Antonio and other posters! Hi!!

Bill did not lead RE, Coot and Bouncer to Alcide and Sookie! THEY ALREADY KNEW because Debbie told Coot who inturn told RE!!! The experiment was to prove that Bill was lying about him not having anything else to do with Sookie!! Bill knew the game was up and went to Sookie, risking his life again, to tell her to clear out before they came for her! Just think about it!! Remember Debbie springing Sookie at Alcides and screaming at her that she would eff her and cut her! As you know, Debbie and Alcide were engaged and now she is engaged to Coot! This is a much more plausible scenario and I wish posters would stop dishing on Bill and making him to appear not smart or stupid.

TVA HOLIC

I love to hear Franklin pronounce Tara’s name!!!!! The entire episode was amazing. I’ve watched it 7 times and will watch it again.

Irene

My favorite episode was this one and also last week’s episode. Mainly because of the sad prostitute talking with Bill -their dialog emotionally affects me still!

    lizzie1701

I loved last weeks ep the most and did not mind this one at all! I just love all the Bill scenes and absolutely loved the Bill and Sookie re-union, though too short.

eva

It was a great episode, the night time parts at least. Franklin is very entertaining, and Bill and Sookie’s moment together was magical.

freed2vamp

I watched the episode five times. Got something more from it each time. I only wish that all of them were two hour episodes because the action is getting so hot and heavy and everything feels so jam packed that I am left panting! Tara and Franklin are crazeeeee! I love them together. AB has a wickedly delicious sense of humor and an impeccable sense of timing. More, More, More!

Dave

Who was the pretty actress that Eric was playing with when he was human and who played the servant when they showed him as a young viking?

Misha

Sam standing up to Joe Lee for Tommy was awesome! Thanks to Sandy for the dog fighting idea. I hadn’t thought of that.

As far as Eric’s vengeance… He has to save Pam first and foremost. Time is running short! And he can’t kill another vampire or he’ll suffer at the hands of the magistrate.

However, if the magistrate happened to find out Russell has been feeding blood to the weres for centuries, and if the magistrate could be convinced that it was Russell that had commanded the selling of the V… well, I could see some very nice vengeance taking place.

BTW, can weres be glamored? I can’t remember from the books…

    sheila

I agree with you Misha. I think that could very well be an interesting turn of events to watch. I don’t remember reading that Were’s could be glamoured, I think it goes along with the same reasons that sookie has a hard time reading them, but they apparently can be lead, cause they’ve been bullied by Russell for a while now. But you know what they say, All Good Things must some day end, I think his day is comming here pretty soon.

Kaitie09

About Coot inviting them in. I don’t know if anyone remembers this from the books but there was one part where Sookie had to go into a building with witches and invite all of the vampires in even though she had no connection there.

Sandy

I loved the episode but found everything a little “spread out”. To much going on, to many stories to follow. Sure we need to see Sam, Jason et al (yes, he is stupid in the books, but not this stupid…) but those stories do not need equal time with Sookie’s. The flash back was excellent – but I dare say – Russell knows who Eric is and didnt kill him for a reason we may not yet know. Tommy is forced by his dad to do dog fights. Kind of obvious with the scars, being a pit bull etc.
Now-the promo for next week – when Eric is yelling at Sookie, I am torn between him actually being so mad that he is turning his back on her or warning her to act like she doesnt know him very well. Russell has all their numbers tho – that’s a fact. What an awesome character he is in the show!! Much better than QSA!! Denis O’Hare is FANTASTIC!

    ~ Caitlin

Sandy I agree. I think that Russell might remember Eric and that he is pretending not to. Russell could have intensionally had Talbot show Eric that room with the crown. It could have been some kind of test. Talbot was admiring Eric (who wouldn’t) but he also could have been gauging Erics reaction. Also, Talbots an artifact afficionado so it seems a little odd that he wouldn’t know thats a Viking crown. However, it is possible that it slip Russells mind for the moment. Like I said before Eric looks different. Also, Russell most likely thought Eric died centuries ago. Eventually, vampires remember everything.

Kaitlyn

Franklin is easily my favorite new character this season!!

I’d really appreciate it if the characters would stop defending Sookie and her rampaging stupidity. She would have been dead a hundred times over if she didn’t have the most awesome people in the world risking their own necks for her every time she decides to deliberately put herself (and therefore her friends) in danger. Her degree of selfishness is astounding, and I would be a lot happier if she would just get killed off already, main character be damned. The show could easily run on the popularity of all the other characters.

    TVA HOLIC

Remember in the books Sookie said that everyone called her crazy. To me she’s showing that even tho’ she has powers she’s not equiped with the sense she needs to control her actions or powers. She just goes off willy nilly not thinking before she speaks or acts. I think it was said that she is the last to recognize her new power.

sheila

Okay, what can I say. AB is a genius, but I have probally said that a dozen times. Where to start. I can see that Bill does love Sookie. Yes, he had other motives. He is a vamp. Eric has feelings for her too, but has not come to deal with them entirely yet. Eric will end up taking out Russell for past sins. Sookie and Bill will take a break while she figures out her feelings. I think the poor girl is about stressed out. I think she needs some good physical activity to take her mind off everything, I think away from Vamps for a second or two will do her some good. But for that to happen she will have to get away from Russell. I think we saw that Eric was giving her to him( for the moment anyway, I don’t think that will be permenant.) Thanks for listening. Team TB

    lizzie1701

Hi Sheila, I agree with your post. I think Sookie will want a break and not have anyone for a season or two and that way she can see other people, maybe as friends and mayabe having suiters trying to win her, but ultimately, as AB has said many a time, TB is a story about Bill and Sookie’s romance and their trials and tribulations, so I guess they will be back together at some stage.

      Sandy

I realize you are a Bill fan – but AB and AS have both said Eric and Sookie are “fated” and will get together. (in interviews, prior to season 3 starting).
Sookie has a lot of lust to make up for and while in real life it may be best to stop dating and just be friends, that formula isnt great for creating drama on TV!
I’ve said before there needs to be a lot of back n forth to keep the fans happy – they may do that or possibly a season or 2 of Bill trying to win Sookie back. We’ll find out soon.
(wonders how Sookie will feel when Tara tells her about Bill…obviously Bill had to re-act that way under the circumstances but that may not be enough for Sookie).
I hope I wont be flamed over this post.
      Cheers
      Sandy

Sarah TV

Loved this episode. The first 20 minutes were paced beautifully. Russell’s “Darling… king” – great delivery.

I was a little iffy about Franklin until this episode. His sheer absurdity is brilliant.

Tommy was like a whole new character when he interacted with Jessica. Definite chemistry there.

It was nice to see Bill’s connection to Sookie return. “Cold” Bill (I know he’s always technically cold, but you know what I mean) is far less interesting than emotionally tortured Bill. Stephen Moyer has very subtle facial expressions that make or break a scene.

Best episode so far this season. No doubt.

    lizzie1701

I agree Sarah TV. Bill is fabulous this season and he does the tortured Vamp so well! I love hsi facial expressions – ever so subtle! Fantastic acting by SM!

melissa

OMG! What an episode! There were parts that were touching, some that were scary, exciting and funny. What more can I ask from AB. Eric in that gorgeous blue sweater mmmmmmmmmm yummy and he is quite the charmer. Im sure he remembered the pack of wolves that slayed his entire viking family talk about bad memories but Im sure he will avenge his family by using Talbot to get close to RE. Franklin and Tara scenes were creepy but i was lmfao. Jason and Crystal very mysterious and i agree he is acting stupid hopefully he will wise up before next season. The Mickens using Tommy in dogfights hmmmmmm very possible and I think Sam is going to liberate his baby brother from this.RE is disappointed with Bill so he will end up in trouble too and him running to Sookie led RE right to her not very smart at all.
I have theories that Sookie isnt human when the sparks flew from her hands she has to be some sort of faery or witch. I cant believe this season is half over wow time flies anyways more TrueBlood for 6 more seasons please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AB U Rock.

Coot lead Russell to Sookie – he knew where she was, he’d been there before with Debbie. Yes, Bill took the risk that he could get her and Alcide out before Russell got there. He knew it would mean his life, but he took the chance. Is that stupid? Maybe, but he tried.

    lizzie1701

Bill was smaret enough to know the game was up, Melissa, so he went ot Sookie to get her out of Jackson. It was so obvious that Debbie told Coot about Sookie being with Alcide (jealousy is a curse) and that is what Coot wanted to see RE about. The experiment was for RE to send Coot to see Bill and tell him about Sookie being with Alcide and to see what Bill would do. If Bill went to Alcide, then RE knew that Bill was lying. Bill took a BIG chance and I guess love conquers all! I thought Bill very smart, and loving and being Bill.

Hollie

Loved the show looking forward to more Alcide of course. Also looking forward to see what happens with Tara and Franklin.

I think this was my favorite episode of the season. Nancy Oliver did a wonderful job. One of my favorite episodes from last season was her episode “I Will Rise Up”. I love Godric but he picked a bad time to die. Eric could really use him now more than ever. Godrics death scene was beautifully done.

I’m loving the Franklin/Tara storyline. He is crazy but hilarious. Every line that came out of his mouth was priceless. Rutina was brilliant in this episode. I know some people are annoyed by her, but I always liked Tara.

I agree that Tommy/Jessica pairing might be good. I thought Hoyt and Jess were cute together. However, Tommy understands more of what Jessica is going through. Plus their both teenagers. I can see Tommy’s dad trying to drain her because he’s that despicable.

What’s not to like about Alcide. I’m happy Joe got the part. I really like him as Owen in “One Tree Hill”. Bill is on fire this season. This is Stephen’s best season yet in my opinion phenomenal job by the cast members. Even though I’m an Eric/Sookie fan, I have to say that scene between Bill and Sookie was touching.

I’m wondering if Jesus will turn out to be a fairy (Claude in the books). Also, he could be a demon. I hope he is a good guy though. It’s True Blood so who knows.

Now to Eric. He looked magnificant in that light blue sweater. I figured as I’m sure many others did that Russell killed his family. I’m a big fan of flashbacks. This one was horrific. I didn’t expect Russell to be there. I’m sure Eric feels guilty that he wasn’t there to defend his mother. The sight of his baby sister was awful. The cloak Russell wore was an eery. Even after 1,000 years Eric is feircy loyal to his family and loves them. He is willing to risk his life to avenge them.

I was wondering if Russell recognizes Eric and pretends like he doesn’t remember him or that he really doesn’t. I guess he could have forgot because it’s been 1,000 years. Also, Eric looks a lot different. Russell would have no reason to think he became a vampire. Somehow I think Eric will kill Russell, he took everything from Eric. Talbots going to be a piece on Eric’s board. It’s going to take Eric a Herculean effort to keep his composure and knock Russell off his throne. Sorry I rambled so much!

Great episode. By far, Franklin and Tara stole the show this week. Tara’s facial reaction to Franklin’s plans were priceless. Rutina, you are one fine actress. There is just something creepily sexy about Franklin. You just have to root for him even though he’s a psychopath and you know it’s totally wrong to do so. Even Russell thinks Franklin’s a freak. “They wouldn’t let me have a turn!”; “She’s a F***en disaster, we could be twins” and “Watch how fast I type MF. Love you”. I laughed so much I had to rewind to hear what else I missed.

Is there a pattern here or do Bill and Eric get caught telling lies every week?? Bill with the Sookie file on telepathy history and Eric with Bill selling V. Bill definitely lost favor with Russell quickly and Russell baiting Bill with news of Sookie’s supposed exploits with a were. Russell knew this would send Bill to find Sookie, therefore Russell would find Sookie.

Bill and Eric giving each other looks at Russell’s house were priceless. Something is in the works there, especially now since Eric had put 2 and 2 together about finding out who killed his viking family. I can understand now why Eric has such a vendetta against those particular weres. Those memories still must hurt even after all that time. Bill and Eric will band together against a common enemy for their own reasons and a common goal. This should be interesting especially now that Russell knows Sookie is more than just a telepathic waitress. The only thing that bothered me is that Bill turned his back on Tara. Hopefully just a strategic move for now, but we’ll have to wait and see on that one.

Talbot seems infatuated with Eric, but who wouldn’t be in that lovely blue sweater that brings out his eyes. He is a charmer.

Starting to like the Tommy and Jess attraction. IMO, Jess is much better suited with Tommy than Hoyt, but Hoyt and Jess are first loves. I can see trouble here though. And Jess glamouring that couple not to give Arlene tips, too funny. Laf and Jesus doing the “coy” thing. I fear there is something up with Jesus, more than just an attraction to Laf.

Hopefully the Jason story will pick up now with the addition of Crystal. Seemed like “love at first site” for these two. Will be interesting to see what happens now, especially with the Hot Shot community.

Poor Sam, trying to help his family only to get drawn deeper into their family mess. Seems like Joe Lee is using Tommy for dog fighting to earn money.

I’m loving Terry. Him moving in with Arlene was just too sweet, although I fear he’s heading for a heartbreak when he learns the truth about the baby. I don’t want to see him go over the deep end since it was so touching he felt “like normal people” for the first time in a long time.

I am so loving Alcide. Can’t wait to see this storyline grow with Debbie and the weres and Sookie. I wish Sookie would still tone it down a bit. Always opening up her mouth when she shouldn’t and then being bossy and downright mean at times. Not caring for this side of Sookie at all.

Can’t believe we are almost half way done with the season. It is going way to fast. And, hopefully AB will sign on after Season 4. AB we are not done watching the antics of Bon Temps yet. At least 3 more seasons please. 🙂

    Loleaf

Hey jaxx see that your taking writing lessens from Nia 😀 Needed a snack!! Lol..
I completely agree with you… Loved Franklin’s awsome typing skills too, laughter my arse off and also had to rewind it just to see it over again.. Even though he is not quite all there in the head he is too funny. He is a true vampire gloat and cry over you one minute the choke you the next. Lol. I wonder if Claudine is going to come in and save Sookie toward the end of this season. Didn’t they have a casting call for her character this season?
I wonder how Talbot will take Bill destroying his prized bed!!! Wow can’t wait to see how he reacts ;)!! Now he is in awe of our Eric, which of course I’m sure Eric will use to his advantage now that he know’s who killed his father. I don’t think that Talbot will last to see the end of this season, Russel took someone that Eric loved so I think he will repay Russell by killing Talbot!!! Jmo though. I wonder if Sookie will read Eric’s intentions from his mind as she can catch glimpses in the books.. Maybe that is why he takes her to Russell in the spoiler for next week, we know that in a house full of vampires you can’t wisper secrets to one another. Maybe that’s why he talked so mean to her!!
    Can’t wait till Sunday!!’

      jaxx

LOL, Loleaf. I thought it was a short post!! 🙂

Claudine was cast for this season. She should be arriving shortly. We have to set up for S4 with her.

I think both Talbot and Russell will bite the dust at the end of this season, jimo. I really do like both of them.

I wonder IF AB’s Sookie will be able to get glimpses of the vamp minds. We saw this in the books but will AB do it too??? Good question.

I think Eric yelling at Sookie was a diversionary tactic as is Bill’s attitude towards Sookie. They don’t want Russell to know how important she could be to him or how close they both are to her. By the way Russell yelled “Fantastic” after Sookie zapped Coot, you could see the wheels turning in his head as to how he could use Sookie in the future for his benefit. Bill and Eric have to work together to not only free Sookie (and Tara too) but themselves as well from this situation.

      Nia

Awwwwwwe, did I see my name mentioned??? LOL

Hey ladies hows it going?? I am late as usual, story of my life.
Jaxx one of these days we need to get together and co write a novela or something. Loleaf you will help.
But I think we would need to start our own coffee company first the way we “suck” or “wolf” down these lattes (sorry, a little vamp and were humor there)

What a great episode, so very much fun, so very much intrigue and a dash of heartache creates for a wonderful hour.

What incredible additions to the cast in Franklin, Talbot and Russell, great actors coupled with great writing. They get better with every episode. From Talbot and Franklins little fangy contest and kitty claws display, to Russell chiming in so haughtily to remind Talbot who wears the pants. Brilliant.

Jasons antics had me rolling, I kept waiting for him to check in the police database for Santas address……North Pole in the winter but Summers in Florida!! LOL
I also think he had a very sweet moment with Crystal by the lake.

BTW our main vamps looked delicious!! Had to get that out.
But not only are our vamps delish, but both lying through their fangs!! Whether to protect themselves or ones they care for. It could help them, then again it could be the start of some serious “trouble”, as we have already guessed.

I agree Jaxx, that I did not like Bill turning his back on Tara. I also hope that he can redeem himself on that one. But could there be some bad feelings there? Bill did help Sookie “awaken” Tara from MAs spell only to have her run headlong in to trouble straight away again and drag Sookie in to danger as well. I hope as you said that it was a strategic move but I am not so sure. If he showed concern she could have been used against him. So he treated her like Sookie, “she is no longer of concern to me”. So they would think she is not important to keep around. I do still wish he could have somehow helped her.

I wonder what history RE has with the magister. There was a lot of serious hate there (background story?) and I could see the wheels turning in REs head that getting rid of the magister would solve everyones problems. Could the magister be wearing a red shirt under his jacket? We shall have to see. LOL

Debbie wanted to “cut up” Sookie, but now Sookie will be in the clutches of RE so that can not happen. I believe that now Debbie knows that Bill is someone that Sookie cares about and is already in trouble, and hated by Coot, so she will probably be happy to “cut him up” instead. This will be for Coot and payback against Sookie.

Col. Flood knew that RE was vamp king, why did not the other weres??? Why hold that info back?? Also the way he spoke of RE, it was as if RE was fairly new to the area (but what does “new” mean to an immortal??). So how long has RE been king and how did he get the title? This is one aspect of the politics that I hope we get more answers for.

Tracing back Sookies family tree, what exactly was the purpose? I believe that Hadley may have said that Earl S. had abilities too but what should that matter?? I think in this somehow, someone may think that there is a Fae connection, hence the eventual intro of Claudine. But how they could associate telepathy with Fae blood is something that I hope will be well explored if they choose to go this route which is pure speculation on my part.

Eric losing his parents and little sister in that massacre was so awful. Especially since he had just been acting like such a “teenager”. (Now don’t y’all get your fangs out. I see this tendency in all younguns, we all acted that way in some point in our youth, lashing out at authority). Not wanting to be told what to do and not wanting the responsibilities that a future king needs to do and learn. The resulting guilt for Eric must have been enormous, hence the “unlifelong” vendetta.
Both our vamps have suffered losses of loved ones.

Now I wonder why it was that RE felt the need to kill them?? Was it to obtain lands, slaves, wealth?? I just wonder why. Obviously Talbot said they had many such crowns. Why did not RE kill Eric as well?? Dispose of the entire “royal” family?? Too many questions yet to be answered.

Arlene better be good to Terry, she breaks his heart and I will have a go at that long red hair !! LOL

I hope Jesus is as good as he seems and not “to good to be true”. Laffy and he are all sorts of cute together.

Sam is such a great guy trying to be a good role model for Tommy. The boy sure has not had one up till now. You cant help but admire Sam for the good man he became and with no family to help him. I think there is some seriously bad things that Tommy is being made to do and I hope that Sam stops that in his tracks. BTW, Sam needs some good loving (not Bill please). A really good woman.

Bill going all ballistic on Coot was perfect payback! The thrashing of Coot and the destruction of the “Bathery” bed was perfect and justice! I knew that eventually Bill would use those silver doors to his advantage.
He escaped to warn Sookie, he put himself in further danger, and yes some have said that he led them to her but I think that RE knew where she was from Franklin and Coot already and it was just a matter of time before they found her. Bill was trying to get to her first to get her out of there before the others could, even if it meant Alcide taking her. Alcide said he believed Bill. Maybe Bill has found an ally.
Their reunion was brief but beautiful (thank you Alan Ball). Bill seemed to breathe Sookie in for just a moment, as if it would be for the last time. He did say there was no hope for him…… 🙁

Ok, that’s it, looking forward to next week and the continuation of this remarkable show.

      Team True Blood!

        jaxx

Nia, OMG, I actually believe we are on the same page here. I didn’t even have to bring in a treat. LOL. 🙂

          Nia

          Hey Jaxx…HUGS!

No treats!!!! Darn, wheres the fun in that?? Well I thought it was more of a 6 course meal. LOL
Then again Bill is a 10 course feast for my eyes as I am sure Eric is for yours!!!

I definitely dont want to watch my diet!

          Have a great day!

        Ollie Chong aka AdoreBill

        Hi Nia!

I always LOVE your analysis of the plots and stories. One thing I was thinking about and you touched on it was the genealogy. Why would he need to track her family background? For her telepathy as you said what difference does it make who had it in the past. I think the Queen is suspicious of Sookie’s heritage and perhaps suspects she my belong to the Fae lineage thus asking Bill to do the research. However here is the catch. I DO NOT think Bill knows that she is fae until the last episode he suspects it once she throws Coot off of her. Watch the looks on his face it is of shock and at the same time fear that she how exposed what she is to the king. Up to that point he could have been researching her family background because he was told to do so but for unknown reasons or for her telepathy. Her is another possibility, that he started the file AFTER the Maryann incident when she first did the blue light thing and he started tracing back her family lineage to see if he could find out if she is fae?

Well I guess we will find out soon enough perhaps in the next episode. So what do you think. Research on her telepathy or if she is fae?

          Nia

HI AdoreBill, I hope you are well, it has been waaaay to long!!!!!
And you are always so wonderful, thank you!

There is so much more here than meets the eye. I think that we are given so many subtle hints and clues that may lead us in a sure direction then all of a sudden prove to do a 180.
I so love Alan Ball and his writing staff!!

          So many unanswered questions!!!!!!

I also believe that Bill did not know completely about Sookie at all when they first met. She was probably just another job until he walked in to Merlottes and they looked in to each others eyes……SIGH!!

He said to her “several” times in those first few fateful days….

          ”What are you???”

Then he responds to her, after she said she is just a waitress:

“You are something more than that, something more than human”

Hadley could have spilled the beans about Sookie being different, perhaps a telepath, but very few people knew this, and Hadley wasn’t that close to the family, so how much Hadley really knew could be an issue here, hence SA sending Bill to investigate further. Otherwise SA would have said just to procure her, to bring Sookie to her.

You mention that Bill could have started the file after the MA incident. I don’t believe so merely because there would not have been enough time from the “blue light” incident with MA, to the wonderfully arranged proposal, for Bill to sit and casually go over his notes. There just would not have been time and also I think that Bill did not care about it anymore.

I think he wanted to marry Sookie and take her away as soon as possible not only because he was so in love with her but to protect her, because now this power has manifested itself and it is only a matter of time when more people see it and start to dig further into what she may be. And that could be disasteraous for her.

As to the geneology chart Bill had. I believe it is possible that when lying in bed and having one of their many “pillow talks” when they discussed their lives and the rules of football, Sookie could have mentioned that Earl had the “gift” as well (remember the little talk with Gran). Bill then could have circled the name, otherwise how could he have known unless Hadley knew and told, also which as I said may not be the case, but I could be wrong. We should see Hadley soon and I believe that at least some of these questions will be answered.

We know that it will come out that Bill was sent by SA to investigate Sookie, and that he fell deeply in love with her in the process and was probably afraid to tell her the truth for fear of losing her.

If SA was just interested in Sookies ability as a telepath, why look in to her ancestry unless there is something else she is looking for?? Even if SA believed in a Fae lineage, what would that do for her? How could she use Sookie if she was Fae, would she want to harness Sookies powers or use her in a gambit with other Fae ?? Perhaps SA has a history with the Faes.

Also how many know of the Faes?? Do all vamps/supes know they exist?? If so are they aware of their powers?? Bill was completely taken aback when he first saw Sookies power when she used it against MA. Then again, Bill is a very young vamp.

Bill asked Sookie, “What happened back there?”
Then Bill asks her later, “Can you do, whatever you did to MA, can you do that again?”

I believe that very few know of and understand that there are Fae. Perhaps only the very old do.
I have another theory. What if RE is in some way Fae himself???? Debbie said to Alcide,

          “Hes more than a vamp”

What if RE is a dark or Evil, very small part, Fae (and Vamp, I have no idea if this is even possible)? That is why he can control the weres as he does. He also said when seeing Sookies power…..Fantatstic!
He was not shocked or awed as Bill was, he was overjoyed.

OK, another possibility, we heard that RE is ancient, but how ancient????
Rune symbols go back as far as 100 BCE. But RE could be much older.

OK, I have a waaaaaaay out theory. What if RE is a druid??? Here is just a bit of background on the Druids:

***In the Celtic religion, the modern words Druidry or Druidism denote the practices of the ancient druids. The Druids constituted the learned priestly class, and they were guardians of the unwritten ancient customary law and had the power of executing judgment, of which excommunication from society was the most dreaded. Druids were not a hereditary caste, though they enjoyed exemption from service in the field as well as from payment of taxes.

“The principal point of their doctrine”, says Caesar, “is that the soul does not die and that after death it passes from one body into another”. This led several ancient writers to the unlikely conclusion that the druids must have been influenced by the teachings of the Greek philosopher Pythagoras.

Various recurring themes emerge in a number of the Greco-Roman accounts of the druids, including that they performed human sacrifice, believed in a form of reincarnation, and that they held a high position in Gaulish society.***

If you look up the history of the runes, you will find that they are linked to Norse mythology as well as Anglo-Saxon, Celtic and others.

          Just more food for thought.
OK, my brain is in overdrive and going in so many directions right now. Got to stop!!!! I am sure you are all thinking:
          THANK THE GODS!!!!! LOL

But I do love the possibilities. 🙂

          Team True Blood!!!!!

          jaxx

Nia, we are in agreement again!! (This is getting scary, is it a full moon? LOL and I mean this affectionately) 🙂 Since we’re speculating, I wonder if QSA tasted Hadley and knew whe was fae?? Wonder if the queen ever tasted a fairy?? Hadley, Jason and Sookie are cousins. Fae should run in all their blood to some degree, but then again why was Jason able to be put under the maenad’s spell and Sookie was immune?? Maybe Sookie has more of the trait than Jason does??

I don’t think Sookie knew about any family gift or even that she had another gift besides the telepathy. In the flashback her mother never let on about anything, but I don’t think she even knew what her husband was. And, I’m sure her father, if he knew, didn’t tell Sookie or Jason either. They were too young. It will be interesting to see if Sookie’s parents “real” story comes into play with AB also. I don’t think Gran ever told her about it or she wouldn’t be so shocked at what she can do. And, we’re not sure what route AB will take with this. Will it just be passed down from very early generations or will the plot of the book with Gran be uncovered??

I think the queen knows what powers the fae have. She must have run into situations in the last 400 years or so. If she knew about maenads, why wouldn’t she know about fairies, etc. too?

About Russell, good speculation and yes I also think he is more than just a vamp. He is very, very old. He has either come into some black magic along the way or is part fae or witch/wizard/warlock himself, as they possess magical powers too. And, I believe RE now knows what Sookie is, after seeing what she can do. In his 2,800 years, he has had to run into fairies before and know of their power. This will be interesting to see how this plays out. Very interesting indeed. 😀

        Loleaf

OMG send up the flares, let the confetti fly we all agree!! Lol! 😀
This is not only one of the best seasons as yet.. who would of thought we would agree on so much lol ***doing the happy dance***. 😉 I Love Love Love this season and the comrodery of our debates.. Can not wait until Sunday to see what AB and crew as in store for is next.
I hate to see Lafayette falling for Jesus because I know that there is something about him that isn’t right, Lafayette said it himself when talking to Tara about Eggs, “Satin I a Sunday hat”!! I just hope that Jesus isn’t there to hurt him for selling V to a family member who got addicted to it and is now out for vengence, or he could really be Claude (just thought of that one after all he was gay also).

        lizzie1701

Nia!! You are THE GIRL!!!!! Fantastic post!!!! Agree with everthing you have written but want to amplify again, that RE already knew where Sookie was as Debbie would have told Coot that she was at Alcide’s (and probably bonking him – jealous) and she asked about Bill Compton! The experiment RE performed was to send Coot up to bait Bill to test Bill’s allegiance and of course, Bill’s allegiance at that stage, as he knew the game was up, was to save Sookie. I know people say that was not smart, but he wanted Sookie to have a chance to get out of Jackson, so in my eyes, Bill was VERY SMART! Also, if he did not go to Alcides, we would not have had that beautiful scene between Bill and Sookie, complete with Nathan’s Bill and Sookie theme ( which I am sure Eric shippers did not want or like) and we would not get to see the look of anguish and defeat on Bill’s beautiful face! What a great episode, though I preferred 9 Crimes for the darkness and great acting from SM.

    eva

Russell did NOT need to follow Bill to find Sookie. Coot told Russell about it, Coot had been in the apartment before with Debbie and Debbie told him about Sookie being there with Alcide.
But Russell did send Coot to taunt Bill, so he could catch Bill trying to save Sookie. Bill knew they were going to get her anyway, that’s why he was telling her to hurry, there was no time to explain. He hoped that beating up Coot would stall them long enough to get her out.

      jaxx

It was a whole chain of events. Russell was going to find Sookie one way or another and this was the fastest way to find her, through Bill. If Russell didn’t need Bill to find Sookie, then why send Coot to set Bill off??? Russell knew Bill could find Sookie faster than anyone. And, who knows, Sookie may have moved out of Alcide’s apartment after Debbie saw her there. They didn’t know that. Bill could find Sookie anywhere she was, whether she left Alcide’s apartment or not.

        lizzie1701

Debbie told Coot (remember Sookie asked her about Bill and she said who was Bill Compton>) and Coot told RE. This was just after RE qas quizzing Bill on the dossier. The experiment was to test Bill’s allegiance. If Coot told Bill about Sookie sleeping with Alcide and Bill stayed in his room, it would prove that Bill was stil with RE. If Bill took off, then it proved Bill was lying. Pure and simple!

          jaxx

Hi Lizzie. I think we all know what the experiment was and that they knew where Sookie was. After I watched it again, I realized that the time frame was actually shorter than I originally thought, minutes as opposed to an hour or so. I thought maybe more time had passed and that if Sookie would leave Alcide’s place, RE thought Bill could locate her anywhere. My mistake.

Mortain

To answer the question: “I want to know why Coot was able to invite them in when he doesn’t live there?”

Were they even invited in?
No humans live there technically, Alcide is a werewolf. At least I would imagine that’s the loophole that allowed them in.

    Isis Nocturne

Actually, Coot came in before the vampires and said “come in.” He doesn’t live in Alcide’s home, so I too want to know why he could invited Russell and his bodyguard in.

      pbt

I think that Coot was able to invite the vamps in because the apartment belongs to Alcide. Alcide is not human. Being a werewolf he is considered a supe. Supes don’t apply to the invitation rule.

Thinking back to Season Two when Bill just enters Sam’s trailer when they hatch their plan about ridding Bon Temps of MA. Bill just appears in Sam’s trailer without invitation. Much to Sam’s dismay at that point.

        AphroditeMF

Doesn’t Bill meet Sam outside the bar? Sam is sitting outside with a shotgun, and Bill does his speedy-run thing. Then when they are talking, they are inside the bar.

          pbt

Yes, you are correct. Trying to figure out how they are getting in. Is it a writing error or is it because Alcide is a werewolf?

        AphroditeMF

I just had a thought… Debbie had cheated with Coot at the apartment, so Coot had probably slept there before, and perhaps even had a key. Maybe that’s why he could invite them in?

          Ang

Maybe Coot could invite them in because it is an apartment and not an actual home? I remember something from the books that anyone’s invitation would suffice in a non-traditional home situation (a coven of witches living in an abandoned old building)….

    lizzie1701

Doesn’t the apartment belong to Debbie??? Seeing Coot is now engaged to Debbie, maybe that is enough for Coot to be able to invite them in??

Mortain

Enough with the Jason story line already. It’s to the point that when Jason is on screen I want to change the channel. They have made him to stupid for his own good. They can’t seriously make him a deputy when they’ve made him so stupid he can’t spell his own name.

I hope they kill him off next week even though I know they won’t.

More VAMPIRES less stupid!

Shanequa

ITA i loved this entire episode! My favorite line was Franklin to Tara: “Who made you cry, i’ll kill him!” i was lmao when he said that.

Amanda

This was, hands down, my favorite episode! It was funny, shocking, scary; everything you want in an episode of the best show on TV.
