With Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) in tow, Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Sookie (Anna Paquin) head to Dallas to carry out Eric’s (Alexander Skarsgård) vampire-reconnaissance mission – but a surprise awaits them at the airport.  At the Light of Day Institute, Jason (Ryan Kwanten) falls victim to a practical joke, but has the last laugh when the Newlins anoint him for a higher calling.  Maryann (Michelle Forbes) throws Tara (Rutina Wesley) a birthday party at Sookie’s, attracting much of Bon Temps to its Bacchanalian revelry.  Sam (Sam Trammell) postpones his departure from town to attend the bash, connecting with Daphne (Ashley Jones) in the process.  Having barely escaped Fangtasia, Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) finds himself reluctantly pulled back into Eric’s orbit.

In Dallas, Sookie connects with one of her own, then joins Bill and Eric for a strategic summit at the lair of the missing vampire, Godric (Allan Hyde), attended by his lieutenants, Stan (Ed Quinn) and Isabel (Valerie Cruz).  Meanwhile, Jason shows his mettle at a Light of Day boot camp, and is rewarded for his hard work with a gift from Sarah (Anna Camp).  Rebuffed by Tara in her relocation efforts, Maryann decides to cast her spell on the staff of Merlotte’s, softening Tara up towards her new “family.”  Eric shares a little-known secret about his past with Bill, and Sookie makes a decision that might solve the Godric mystery – or get her killed.

Accompanied by Isabel’s human boyfriend Hugo (Christopher Gartin), Sookie embarks on a dangerous mission to locate Godric.  Meanwhile, Bill is shocked when a vampire from his distant, more violent past resurfaces in Dallas.  In Bon Temps, Daphne presses Sam to get comfortable in his own skin(s); Hoyt (Jim Parrack) continues his unlikely courtship of Jessica; Andy (Chris Bauer) interrogates Lafayette about his disappearance; and Tara and Eggs (Mehcad Brooks) take a detour while on a road trip.  At the Light of Day camp, Jason faces difficult emotional and physical choices.

About Lafayette, he got what he deserved, turned about is fair play. I would stay away from vampires if i were him lol. I hope he learned his lesson

    Demetrice

Yeah, I hope he did too, or else they will surely kill him the next time.

SPOILER HERE…from the looks of the previews for episode 4 (that we were supposed to see last night) Eric is going to be stalking Lafayette, but for what, I can’t tell. It will be very itneresting to see what else plays out in Lafayette’s story lines.

I am glad Sookie found out about him, and got him released. I felt sorry for him.

Rosie

Ok so i have read all the comments about why the new episode of TB didnt come on last night, but I’m still bummed – I was really wanting to watch what was going to happen!!! So now I cant wait til Sunday!!

Dem, when i saw the swine in the dog house, it just came to my mind, i counted 4 mythological beings in this series… Now i need to figure out what mystery being attacked sookie.
Lets look it up and see what the real circe did with the swine i think she eat them. Gross

Demetrice

So Astarais, you think Maryanne could be a Greek sorceress name Circe who turns men into swines? Wow, that is very interesting. I wonder what she does with them after she turns them, feed off their energies, or literally eats them. That goulosh looking stew her man servant was cooking in episode 3 looked oh so very gross, and when they served it up to the people at her party, it made everyone get all wild and loose, and sexually charged. That’s some kinda of mojo jojo they got working there. Maryanne is such a mystery. They have us hanging on by the nails waiting to see what she really is, and what her purpose there in Bon Temps really is.

Demetrice

I’m right with you guys on this one, I was so dissappointed last night to see only repeats being broadcasted. Why are they showing reruns already, season 2 just started. I was so looking forward to seing episode 4. Now we have to wait a whole nother week to see a new one…that’s kinda upsetting.

Oh to Amanda and Astarais about it being the 4th of July weekend and all, yeah, I guess you could be right that a lot of people might of missed the new episode, and the network probably didn’t want to loose any ratings of viewers if the new one had been ran. But still for us true TrueBlood fans, that’s sucks (hee hee).

Amanda

I’m guessing there is a repeat July 5th because of the Fourth of July weekend. Maybe a lot of people are away or will be getting back late on Sunday.

It figures to have repeats because of the 4th, TPTB do this all the figging time when there is a Holiday

sookie stackhouse

Lafayette, was not turned because he has to have the vampires blood, they only fed from him, they didnt give him their blood.

also read the books there just as good as the series. One season is one book. Im to impatiant to wait for 9 seasons! **Spoiler alert**

plus… you know you wanna read about eric and sookie getting close =]]]]

    Demetrice

Oh wow, great point blogger Sookie Stackhouse. You are right about Lafayette needing the feed off of their blood in order to turn into a vampire too.

But hey, that also brings up another really good question…why hasn’t Sookie turned into a vampire then? Bill has feed off of her, and she has drank his blood numerous times as well.

Do their bodies(Sookie, Lafayette, and any other potential victims) have to be almost fully drained of all their blood first, and then drink from that vampire before they die, to come back as one?

      Nia

Remember when Jessica was turned, Bill explained to her that after he gave her his blood he shared his esscence with her (not sex). So there is a process that is stll a bit of a mystery here. So thats why Sookie has not been made vampire even though she has recieved plenty of blood from Bill (and sex, lucky girl!)

astarais

Do I detect a Greek sorceress by the name of Circe who turned men into swine. is that what Mary Ann is?

Thats very interesting that Maryann could be the Greek goddess Circe that turns men into swine. That would explain the pigs. Also there is so much reference to all things Greek. The Gods, the statue (Mycenea is a provence of Greece), and Maryanns own reference to the Greeks knowing things. Very interesting!!! I love the speculation. Can’t wait to see what she really is. Actually I can, if we want it all so fast then the season will be over and then what? Reruns. So I will be patient and keep speculationg.

Marie

If anyone finds out why they’re not showing a new episode of true blood tonight posting the reason would be much appreciated. I have been looking, but so far i can’t figure anything out and I’ve seriously been looking forward to the new episode all day. I had the shittiest day only to find that my one pick-me-up isn’t happening until next week… What the hell?

POPFIZZLE

WOW…

Leave work early to catch episode 4…

Only to see episode 3…

Really disappointing and unexpected…

I expect a litte more from HBO, since I pay for it.

lyn

i really dont understand why they’re putting a rerun for tonight, LAME!

Yasmine

Yeah, anyone know why episode 4, season 2 of True Blood is not showing today July 5, 2009 (Sunday) It sucks!!!!!

JC

I have to get up at 4AM to fly out at 6AM on Monday’s. I stayed up to watch the new show at 9 only to find a repeat. I’m not sure what the strategy was there, but I am sure I am not the only one who is dissappointed.

kelly

yeah, i just noticed on my tv it says the episode tonight is a repeat. is this true? & if so – why isn’t the new episode on tonight!

josh

why isnt there a new true blood episode on july 5th? which is today. this is very upsetting.

Alison

The next episodes sound great! So far Bill has been doing a crappy job protecting Sookie.

    Demetrice

You know, I would kinda have to agree with you Alison, Sookie keeps getting hurt when Bill is no where around. But then he has to come to her rescue later, saving her mostly by feeding her his blood. And doesn’t it look like it tastes so good to her? Heck, she might as well be a Vamp herself. But yeah, you would think that dating a vampire could also be a plus, having its up side, with his strength, speed, hightened senses, and animal instrict, but aside from having great passionate and agressive sex (does sound good, don’t get me wrong) he’s never really there when she needs him. He’s supposed to be her guardian and protect her, not coming after the fact to save her life. Yes, its true that he has made it so that her life has been saved many times, but he should be there to keep things like that from happening to her in the first place. I can go on and on about this part of their involvement, but I wont. Bill should step it up!

dingy

they dont turn Lafayette he is rescued and goes home

Demetrice

Yes Nia. I agree with your summation, Bill probably did just glamour them. That would have been very cruel of him to kill them. As for that angry make up sex, yeah, it probably will have to wait because there is too much going on with them, their freinds, the town, mysterious murderous creatures, kidnappings and the sort. And I just don’t think Bill will be ready to forgive Sookie right away this time. She has to learn “vampire etiquette” as well. Vamps can’t return to their families, for risk of killing them, or of being sorely rejected, or getting the wrong kind of exposure. In reading up of the character of Bill, that’s why he didn’t return to his family’s home, until the whole family line had died out, then he returned to the home to reclaim it.

    Nia

Thanks Demetrice, we shall see what happens. It is guaranteed to be great. I agree, Bill and Sookie still have a lot to learn about each other. You have to admit though, this all makes for great drama, and of course make up sex!

Nia

Leave it to Alan Ball to constantly surprise us. I thought Lafayette was a goner for sure at the end of season 1. I thought for sure the gang at Fangtasia would surely turn him. Now I am not so sure hearing all these spoilers. Personally it would be a riot having Lafayette as a bad ass vampire. He would be amazing. Maybe later in the series. They just want us to sweat it out.
Hey how about that last scene with Bill. Wow! Talk about a vampire getting really pissed off and taking charge. God he is beautiful.

    Demetrice

Oops, sorry to all the readers for the spoiler comments. My comment below might contain a spoiler or two.

Yes Nia, I agree. Him being as mad as he was at Sookie was also so very sexy!! HOT! So do you think he killed Jessica’s whole family? I really hope he didn’t, her little sister was so sweet. even though it looked like Jessica was going to kill her father anyway, and she probably wouldn’t have been able to control herself (being a teen and a new born vamp) and maybe would have killed her mother and sister also. So when I think about it now, it probably would have been best for Bill to put an end to that mistake, and cleaned up the mess (no pun intented), because her family probably would have went public with it. He sure was mad at Sookie though, and took charge, and that was sooooo hot!

      Nia

I really do not believe that Bill would be so cold hearted as to kill Jessicas family. Not possible. He could glamour them into not remembering what happened. I was shocked at how mad he w

        Nia

was at Sookie. Like I said before, opening for great makeup sex.
But I have a feeling the make up sex will have to wait. Too much happening.

Demetrice

Yeah Team Eric, I guess you are right. I just don’t see how he wouldn’t have turned into a vampire, or died after beinig red on by 3 vampires all at the same time. How do you survive something like that? Well…I guess if you think about it, they probably didn’t fully drain him, so that he would stay alive, so that they could feed off of him again (and again), and use him to do their other dirty deeds, huh? That’s probably why in the S2EP4 spoiler he still tries to escape. What do the rest of you think about that?

    Team Eric

See after seeing that part where all 3 vamps fed on him I really hope they turn Lafayette to quote him “I’ll be u’r badass vampire” He sure will be I can just picture him toying with the innocent lol but I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out since you said in the spoiler he still tries to escape.
Oh and I thought that scene with Ginger screaming her crazy idiot head off was so hilarious!

Danielle

I wanna see Hoyt court Jessica awwwww

Team Eric

humm sounds like Lafayette will not be turned…I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out!
