With Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) in tow, Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Sookie (Anna Paquin) head to Dallas to carry out Eric’s (Alexander Skarsgård) vampire-reconnaissance mission – but a surprise awaits them at the airport.  At the Light of Day Institute, Jason (Ryan Kwanten) falls victim to a practical joke, but has the last laugh when the Newlins anoint him for a higher calling.  Maryann (Michelle Forbes) throws Tara (Rutina Wesley) a birthday party at Sookie’s, attracting much of Bon Temps to its Bacchanalian revelry.  Sam (Sam Trammell) postpones his departure from town to attend the bash, connecting with Daphne (Ashley Jones) in the process.  Having barely escaped Fangtasia, Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) finds himself reluctantly pulled back into Eric’s orbit.

Written by Alan Ball; directed by Michael Lehmann.

Episode 2.05:  “Never Let Me Go”
Debut:  SUNDAY, JULY 19 (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
Other HBO playdates:  July 19 (11:30 p.m.), 21 (11:30 p.m.), 22 (10:00 p.m.) and 25 (11:30 p.m.)

In Dallas, Sookie connects with one of her own, then joins Bill and Eric for a strategic summit at the lair of the missing vampire, Godric (Allan Hyde), attended by his lieutenants, Stan (Ed Quinn) and Isabel (Valerie Cruz).  Meanwhile, Jason shows his mettle at a Light of Day boot camp, and is rewarded for his hard work with a gift from Sarah (Anna Camp).  Rebuffed by Tara in her relocation efforts, Maryann decides to cast her spell on the staff of Merlotte’s, softening Tara up towards her new “family.”  Eric shares a little-known secret about his past with Bill, and Sookie makes a decision that might solve the Godric mystery – or get her killed.

Episode 2.06:  “Hard-Hearted Hannah”

Accompanied by Isabel’s human boyfriend Hugo (Christopher Gartin), Sookie embarks on a dangerous mission to locate Godric.  Meanwhile, Bill is shocked when a vampire from his distant, more violent past resurfaces in Dallas.  In Bon Temps, Daphne presses Sam to get comfortable in his own skin(s); Hoyt (Jim Parrack) continues his unlikely courtship of Jessica; Andy (Chris Bauer) interrogates Lafayette about his disappearance; and Tara and Eggs (Mehcad Brooks) take a detour while on a road trip.  At the Light of Day camp, Jason faces difficult emotional and physical choices.

Last night’s episode was very interesting. I am surprised that Godrick sacrificed himself. Did you guys pick up on when he started to burn, his flames were BLUE?! It really looked kinda spiritual, like he had reached a highest conscienceness in his life, and his soul (or essence)was really going on to heaven to true peace. I liked when he said to Sookie, that he could kinda see God in the fact that he had a human by his side who mourned for him. That was very touching.

Well last nights episode was GREAT. We saw the bullet scene with Eric getting Sookie to suck the bullets out. LOVE IT. I just love Eric’s character, and I think he and Sookie make a much better pair because he just has more personality than Bill does, more humor – loved him when Bill came back inside from biting some human and ask Sookie what the heck she was doing. Eric saying sweet once she realized what had happened. Too bad the little love scene was a dream, but I figured it would be. Not that Alan is following the books closely, but the real joining of Eric and Sookie is in book 3. Sookie gets staked and that is where she gets quite a bit of Eric’s blood. Love making between the 2 explodes in book 4, and that is what I hope Alan will not stray from – SO HOT!!! So sad to only have 3 more episodes.

I am so obsessed with this show it hurts to have to wait for Sunday to come. I have read all the books, but seeing live character’s just gives it a whole other view point. I have been rewatching Season 1 and re-reading the books just to keep the story alive for myself. Book 4 is my ultimate favorite because Eric and Sookie get together. I like Bill do not get me wrong, but Eric is sooo much better looking. We shall see what Alan does with it. Lorena does not come back for Bill via Eric’s request in the book, and she also does not appear until book 3, so Alan is taking his story line on that subject a bit sooner than I expected. Godric is Godfrey in the book, and he is not Eric’s maker (so another twist thanks to Alan). I do have to say I am so so happy he left Lafayette alive (he is such a good character). Still wish they would hang up on the Maryann character and all that is going on there. I am so sick of her story line. Can’t wait for Sunday 8/2/09 9 pm (that is when it comes on in CT).

I like it all pbartteacher. I have the same thoughts and speculations.
Did nayone notice that Sarah (after her little tiff with hubby) went up to Steve and Gabe and said “I never agreed to this” or something like that. I don’t think she is approving of their methods, possibly with Godric. If Sara were to leave Steve could she give up living in her palace for Jason? Can little miss princess handle that?
Also I know its time for a major blowout between Bill and Sookie, although I honestly will hate to see that happen. Just because they are so adoraeable (yeah, I know, sticky sweet, but I like sweets, Bill will always be the icing on my cake). I think it will be devastating to Bill. I believe they are leading up to it though. Did you notice, when Bill wakes up, when Sookie is climbing back into bed, he says “I dreamed you were gone” and he had this scared, soulful, little lost boy look in his eyes. I don’t know about you but I wanted to be his teddy bear right about then. Could it be that this is a foretelling of the future? He also mentions, again, that he cannot loose her. Couple that with Erics help (he called Lorena, I bet they both want the same thing, to break up the lovers). There is trouble brewing ahead. I think it will be great drama. Yes, The Eric/Sookie bullet scene, I hope Alan puts that in, it would be awesome. Then again, does anyone remember the makeup sex after the football game? Nuff said.
Unfortunately the quicker we want the episodes to come the quicker this season will be over. Then we can only survive on reruns, season 1 DVD’s and consoling each other till the next season, with, of course, the blessings of HBO and Alan Ball. Got a little extra “V” for me?

Wow, Episode Six already this Sunday. That means we are at the middle of this year’s season 2 already. It seems like it just started. I predict a lot will happen the last six episodes. A lot more information will be forth coming about all of the plot lines.

*Who is Maryann and what is her true agenda-chaos, power, pride?

*What will develop between Jessica and Hoyt if Maxine doesn’t butt in? (new plot line not in the books-awesome)

*Eric and Sookie-the infamous bullet scene (from the books-yummy)

*Sookie and Bill(possibly on the rocks by the end of TB@2 if AB follows the book). Let’s hope so- getting a little too sweet!

*Lorena and Bill: what part does Eric play in this triangle? Eric keeping Bill away from Sookie? Interesting new twist on the story!

*Sam and Daphne (shape shifter heaven not in the book-new)

*Tara and Eggs (In the book but different)Taking a trip?

*What about Andy, Portia (sister) and Grandma? Will he return to work (this plot line has not developed yet)

*Jason, FOTS and Sarah Newlin (will be resolved by the end of season 2 for the most part)

*Godric, Isabella and Stan (crazy Dallas vamps)

*Will FOTS be inihilated (not entirely)

*Will Lafayette return back to normal (by the end of Season 2 when Eric’s blood wears off)but hopefully by Episode 11

*Some new characters not yet introduced yet (Queen Sophie of Louisiana-helps Bill with Maryann!?) Will we find out about her true relationship with Bill/Why is he really back in Bon Temps?

*Introduction of another supe group (the infamous weres, panthers, tigers)?

So much to accomplish in the last six episodes. Better get going AB.

PS: The opinions expressed here are entirely my own. Who really knows except for TB@2 actors and Alan Ball. Bring it on, I need my “V”fix.

Love the books, Love the series. The series is getting a bit drab for me at the moment though. They are spending too much time on Maryann (the Maenad – in the book she comes and goes – she needs to go already BORING). Also do not like the amount of time being spent on Fellowship of the Sun and having Jason involved there. That does not happen in the book so not sure where Alan is going with that, but this is BORING as well.

    Chrissie

I so agree with you Teresa. I was thinking the same thing during yesterday’s episode. They need to wrap up that storyline already!

      astarais

yeah I agree with both of you, I hope they end this with Maryann it is boring and don’t like how it is going with the main characters. Looking forward to a pure Vampire series

Katrina

Hey

I am a bit behind on True Blood, I hired it out from the video store by mistake thinking it was a movie then watched the whole of season 1 and loved it! I watched season 2 episodes 1,2,3,4 on the internet and couldn’t find ep 5. I didn’t realise they played it on TV in NZ. Can someone tell me what channel, what time and when episode 5 will be on?? I love it, what a great programe!!! Thanks

Nikola

I dont get it,they delayed the last week by reshowing ep. 2.03 scratches and promised to show two new episodes this week 2.04 and 2.05 but there is only 2.04,is this gonna be next week’s ep. or the net doesnt have it yet? xD

    astarais

Oh my god did you see the claws on Maryann, what is the world is she? I was guessing she was Circe, no way she can be.

I counted 5 humanoids, This going to be interesting this is more then a Vampire series

Demetrice

Hi everyone. I haven’t read the books either, but I think they are called the Southern Vampire Mysteries, by Charlaine Harris. I’m guessing that there are about 8 or 9 books in that series., but please don’t quote me on that number though.
:- )

astarais

menade, translation from spanish to English

1. Bacchante, priestess of Bacchus. (f)
2. A woman beside herself, in a frenzy. (f)

Sara and Demetrice you 2 are way ahead of me, thanks for the info…. and getting me on the right track

Not sure which books Sara

astarais

Sara, I don’t know much about True Blood except from the TV series is there a book True Blood? Is the series taken from a Book or Books?

astarais

not sure bet it is not sexual… but then same sex might mean nothing to vampires

    Demetrice

Yeah, I agree with you that to vampires sexual preference probably doesn’t matter. They’re beings that embrace all pleasure in its fullness and abundance. Like in Anne Rice’s books, her vampires were attracted males and females alike.

diaantje73

hi i hear (dont no if its true)eric gets it on with a men??
in one of the following epi’s?? does anyone now something about this?

    Demetrice

Yeah I also read in some of the spoiler news that Eric and Lafayette are supposed to embark on a “closer,” more intimate involvement. I guess in some ways, Eric is going to make Lafayette “his” possession, in more ways than one.

astarais

I know, he is so goodlooking and sexy

Nia

These episodes all sound so good. But I will be patient because before you know it, the season will be over and then comes the long wait for anything new. Can you say RERUNS! God bless DVR. I could look at Bill all day.

astarais

can’t click on anything until i take their survey

karenakarson

they’ve got it over at http://408passion.com/watch28015.html streaming if you wanna watch it

Sara

shes a menade, you should read the books

    Demetrice

Yeah, I haven’t read the books. I hadn’t even heard about the Southern Vampire Mysteries book series until True Blood started broadcasting. But its fun to bounce ideas off of eachother though because it keeps the interest and excitement going until the next episode airs.

Maybe I will go pick up the books, but I know that Alan Ball has changed up some of the story lines and themes, and now what is in the books won’t necessarily coincide with the story he is telling now.

      Sara

Even though he has changed a few things, the books are great reads, ive read all nine and the fun part for me is to see how things get tweeked here and there from the book into the series. Plus im dying to see if hes going to keep to keep the main love interest in the book the same in the series

Demetrice

Yeah, but I bet your observation is right on. But I wonder what it does for her, what’s her power exactly, and what does she get out of it? We will see it all unfold in the weeks to come. :- )

astarais

Thanks Demetrice yes it does show gluttony. I feel tho Maryanne has the parties to turn some men into swine…if she is the modern cercee… just have to wait and see if we see more swine, missing men, still to early to tell what she is!

Demetrice

In regards to the Episode 4 spolier up top for Shake and Fingerpop, I looked up the word Bacchanalian (for Bacchanalian revelry), and its description sure can help to feed our curiosity of what or who Maryanne is, and where (or what time) she comes from. Check out the link below, you may need to copy and paste. This sure does look like her kinds of parties.
