True Blood Season Finale!
The season finale of True Blood, HBO’s hit gothic romance series is going to be insane! The episode, “Evil is Going On” which is set to debut on September 12, was written by Alan Ball and was directed by Anthony Hemingway. It sounds like we may be in for yet another cliffhanger!

Eric and Sookie have actually shared some very intriguing intense
situations. They have seen each other cry, they have saved each other on certain levels (Eric~weres, Sookie~Godric roof top-meeting the sun. They are both extremely loyal to friends and family that deserve it. I hope the ending is beautiful .
Funny, In TB timeline, Eric and Sookie have only known each other about a total of 3 hours! She has seen or heard of him doing horrible things, not only to her but to her friends and Bill. Yet, because she saw a few minutes of Eric crying on the roof top she “sees him in a different light”?? PLEASE!!!! Also, don’t forget that because Eric brought Lorena into the fold at Dallas, all this sh*t has happened to her!
Bill and Sookie have shared much more that Eric and Sookie! Bill was willing to give up his life for her many times and Sookie has done the same for B Eric has put her in danger many times! He even used her in these last 2 eps for his own selfish needs because HE caused the problems they are now in. He did not even ask her permission or inform her of his intentions! SAME AS IN THE BOOKS!!!.
Bill and Sookie have a deep love but this love is thwarted by mistrust with each other and they have to have complete trust in each other before they find true love. This is what AB wrote when he first formulated the idea for TB. He said that Bill and Sookie had to find complete trust and have many trials and tribulations before they can be forever happy, which will be just before the end of the series.
I love Bill, but quite frankly, Eric has some great scenes and he makes me laugh, mostly, but a love interest? I mean, look how awkward Eric and Sookie looked with that kiss!! Let him go and find his own girlfriend and let Bill and Sookie be.
For those of you who love the books – power to you that you have both the books and True Blood.
Agree Jim and Lizzie brings up another fact – Sookie and Bill havent known each other long either and whether Bill’s at fault of not – things have been quite the roller coaster ride.
I think Eric has treated Sookie more as an equal – but much like a child. Bill almost a possession. Neither are good or bad just flawed.
Cheers
Sandy
I can’t wait to watch the season finale…So love True Blood..
Nice Shows.. Watch the last EPISODE of TRUE BLOOD..
I have justed watched episode 11 only one more to go, all i can do now is watch dvds, and will the year to,pass quickly, oh how life will be boring for me.
OH MY GOD I JUST FRIGGEN LOVE THIS SHOW!! W O W
Hi Caitlin,
Yes, you are right. AB can’t write out Bill in S4. He still is the main male lead and I am sure there will be another great storyline for SM to show off his great acting skills! I am just loving SM this season with his portrayal of Bill!
Go True Blood!
Hi Adore Bill. I agree. I could not focus on book 4 and thought the storyline silly. I also hope AB puts a fresher slant on that storyline and book 4 in general.I am afraid a lot of bookies are looking forward to S4 and I hope he does not get too swayed by them.
I want to watch a show fresh and with lots of surpises. I love looking at the teasers because I know it will not be shown that way when we finally see the episode and I love to make guesses and see if I can beat him! lol. AB wins all the time! That is what I love about TB. The surprise element.
Go True Blood!
Hi Lizzy! No need to worry about Alan Ball. I am sure that he already has the season mapped out as we speculate here. He will be adding plenty of action, spice and intrigue to our great love~True Blood.
The amnesia storyline was weird but I liked it. I found it amusing. I have no doubt that we will have many surprises thrown our way in season 4. Lizzie you’ll get to see a lot more Bill in the 4th season than in the book. That a plus.
Waving hi to you all! ๐
I can not believe we are already talking about the season finale. The season is going bye entirely too quickly. Thanks, Isis for the synopsis of plot lines to come. While we have only seen the first seven episodes, it already feels like Christmas Eve with the anticipation of September 12th.
Since this thread is about the finale, I will keep my remarks to just that.
Starting with Eric grappling with his conscience over Russell Edgington. Sigh. Despite everything that Russell did to his family our Viking struggles to carry out his plan. I am so hoping that Bill, Sookie and Eric are plotting together to take the King down. I suspect part of the plan involves Sookie’s blood and vampires being able to daywalk. Since we have already seen pictures depicting this scene in rehearsal, it should be a very emotionally charged finale. I am sure there will be plenty of twists and turns from Alan Ball.
I am especially looking forward to Jesus and Lafayette’s plot line and where this is going. I suspect that Jesus is “Satan in a Sunday Hat” as Lafayette said on their first date.
Yes, Season Four should be full of twists and turns. Alan Ball has already released some details including making Alcide a full time character next season (congratulations to Joe Maganiello), Eric having amnesia and I am sure we will be seeing more of the witches. I suspect the daywalking plot line will not be resolved by the end of the season. Sookie will be searching her heart to figure out what her next move will be. Perhaps Eric will be searching for his hearts desire while under a spell. Bill perhaps might be working as an investigator, Sheriff or perhaps a higher position in the AVL.
Slowly this season we have seen the different masks being stripped away from our different characters. As Sam started with smashing MA mask in the minisode, Alan Ball has been meticulously revealing the different layers of our beloved favorites.
While we will never agree on who are our favorites are, its nice to see the questions, debates and speculating about the remainder of this season.
24 hours until the next installment of True Blood. Let the v-ddiction continue! ๐
I thought you made a lot of good observations pbt!
I liked the one about them having her blood and daywalking. I also saw the spoiler picture of Russell and Eric. I wondered how Russell could stay alive long enough for his face to be burnt. Last season Godric said that it wouldn’t take him long to burn at his age. I think you solved that mystery because without Sookie’s blood Russell would be dust in a few seconds. Maybe Sookie will save Eric and leave Russell to fry in the sun. Bill and Eric do make a good team when it counts. Wouldn’t it be interesting if Bill and Eric were once friends? I doubt it though but you never know…
Also, I want Jesus to be a good guy. Lafayette needs something good in his life. However, Lafayette has a good read on people. I agree with you that all is not well with Jesus. I wonder what he is though?
Yes, all the characters are multi faceted. It does seem like we’re getting to see the opposite side of each of them this season.
Hopefully, we will get to see Eric running down the road towards his future “lover”. I loved “Dead to the World”.
Well I’m hoping Alan puts a totally different spin on season 4 and completely surprises us as I found that whole storyline from Charlaine completely poorly written and very uninteresting to read. Hopefully Alan can make it interesting for everyone to enjoy. ๐
I agree with that Ollie. Alan Ball will definitely put his spin on things and that’s what we love about the show. He always has us guessing and intrigued by what and where he is going with the plot and the characters.
BTW, have you ever written any books? I would love to read your work. You are such a fine writer on this site. Kudos to the staff!
Less that 24 hours ๐
LOL Hi pbt,
No I haven’t written any books, just the stuff I have published here. But who knows what the future holds. LOL Thanks for the compliment! ๐
You are welcome Ollie. I thought perhaps you wrote fiction also. ๐
Thanks, Caitlyn. I love talking about the show and its many characters. But as you can tell from my avi you know where my heart lies.
I am sure that Season 4 will not play out like the books completely but that’s fine. Alan Ball will have to write something for Bill to do since I suspect he will not be in Peru. I a thinking maybe making him sheriff of Area 5 in Eric’s disappearance. There were a lot of great stories in the book and I am sure Alan Ball will do justice to them all and add even some better ones.
Nice chatting. :-O
It would be entertaining to see Pam and Bill together. I loved the graveyard scene in season 1 with them. I hope Pam takes charge though. Bill’s older than Pam. It would be interesting to see Bill as sheriff for a time. Bill had some position in the book. I don’t remember what position he had though? Maybe they’ll have more Bill/Jessica together in the next season. He needs to become a better maker. To his defense, Jessica’s only been a vamp for what 2 months. I’d be livid if Jessica died.
I do not “hate” Eric I find his character amusing. Big and blond don’t “do it” to me but dark haired and blue eyed always has.
What I detest with all my heart are the RABID Eric fans who have done nothing but spew vile comments all over the forums, not only about Bill, but about Stephen Moyer ie calling him a troll, comments about his height, his relationship with Anna, his poor acting skills etc. This has been from the start – they don’t see the Bill you see, Sandy, they see “Trunk rape” Bill or Big Lier Bill, or Sleaze Bill and then there is the “We want more Eric!” brigade even though Eric was not in the books much in the beginning.
I detest their views, and can’t believe they are grown women by the comments they have made or are still making.
For these reasons, I really don’t want them to get what they want! I want to see them squirm with Bill ad Sookie scenes and I want them to feel disppointment. I want them to suffer each episode so I guess I am no better than they are, but I have had good teachers, believe me!
Hi Lizzie,
I glad they didn’t include the “trunk/unconsious rape” from the book. I really didn’t like that at all in the books. I never blamed Bill for that though. I realized he was out of his mind, Sookie didn’t blame him either. Stephen is a phenomenal actor. Not all Eric fans hate Bill. I’ll admit that I didn’t care much for the book Bill after book 3. However, I still like Bill in the show. In fact, this is Stephen’s best season yet in my opinion. Also, I feel a little more empathy for book Bill because of Bill in the show. In season 1, I was a Bill/Sookie fan. Then I started reading the books and was still a Bill/Sookie fan. I always liked Eric. Eventually, Eric won me over in season 2 and book 3. It’s not just because of his looks and charm that makes me like Eric. His age is fascinating. He is a walking library. I understand your point of view. The nasty comments go both ways though. Both sides are guilty of it. I agree, some people go to far.
Variety is the spice of life. There is plenty of it on this show.
Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.
Team True Blood!
Thanks, Caitlyn. Well said!
Excellent post Caitlin!
Totally agree that season 3 SM/Bill has been excellent. Every comparison you made I really agreed with in that regard. Eric did shine in S2. Read the books to read his character, not him and Sookie specifically, but eventually.
Cheers
Sandy
The rabid book Eric fans will hate Bill no matter what he does. I really like both Eric and Bill. I prefer Eric in the books and Bill in the show, but I do not hate either.
The show gives us more of an insight into Bills former life, and as a result, I have a lot more sympathy for him. He tries to do the right thing, even though it does not always work out the way he intended. I enjoy watching his inner turmoil and SM plays his character extremely well.
I have loved watching Erics more valunerable side this season. He is starting to show that he really cares for Sookie and I have loved the scenes with Pam. He is no longer the bad ass vampire that he portrayed in season 1.
Most of the Bill haters, hated him before the tv show even started, because of the books. It is an interesting fact that Alex Skarsgard originally auditioned to play Bill. Can you imagine if he had got that part, I bet the Bill haters would be writing nasty or horrible things about AS instead.
Howdy C4B!! Glad you are over here! FB has posted as well – and I think another will come over to help spread the love of Bill and to defend him. BN is away for a little while, so it is up to us!
We will have to continue our chant over here – “I believe in AB”!
Nice to hear from you!
May True Blood be with you!
Right back at you, Lizzie!
I am on such a high from this season, and all of its explosive, wonderful, and sexy storylines. Only three more episodes, then a very long wait until Season 4. I am putty in Alan Ball’s hands, and I have to say my trust in him is restored. He delivers when it counts, and I just can’t believe that I adore this program so much. So glad I started watching it in the fall of 2008. A large part of it is meeting wonderful friends like you and the rest of our gang. Go Team True Blood!
honestly if Sookie and Bill will really don`t be together i think is gonna happen with the books (at least with me) i donยดt wanna know more i have to confesse i don`t like she sleep with Erik on the books donยดt even mension with Quinn ugh… so i beg to AB not do that pleaseee!!!!
Bella I am so with you on this. The beauty of this series lays on the strong relation between Bill and Sookie. the way he is with her and viceverse; what he’s done to protect her. the way he confess her how much he changed for her in the scene when he admitted on killing his uncle.
I think in the book Sookie is less comminmnet to the relation with Bill. Up to now i like the changes in relation to the book i hope they keep it like that but with them toguehter or at least she having a break.
If you have read the books then you will know that the only reason Bill went with Sookie was because he was doing a job for the queen, so I think that the more that they stick to the books the better.
Because if you found out that the man that you loved only started to date you because his queen wanted you, would you seriously want to carry on being with him?
Team True Blood all the way!
Editor note: We are all Team True Blood here. There is so much animosity between the two groups on so many other sites, so we want to keep our site free of it and a place where everyone feels welcomed and don’t feel they need to get their guard up. ๐
Beth, in your zeal to be totally Team Eric, you have left out a couple of facts from the books, which I know we are not discussing here, but hey, you brought them up. While Bill may have been following Sophie-Ann’s orders to get to know Sookie, etc. he did fall in love with her, which the Queen did not command him to do. He protected her from Lorena, and endured torture rather than reveal information about Sookie.
And Eric has consistently manipulated and tricked Sookie away from Bill and into his life.

Hey I was only sticking up for Eric haha,
any way, you have your opinion and I have mine.
I like the ‘bad’ guys and some like the ‘good’ guys, even though I think that looking at Eric he is a good guy beneath the rough Viking surface.
& what’s with the little disclaimer under our posts?
Nice debating with ‘ya ๐ x
Hi Beth,
Just lately alot of people’s feeling have been hurt and this is not new to our site. We have always said Team True Blood here. ๐ Just when “team” stuff starts up here is always causes a progression leading to nasty stuff being said on both sides and people feeling unwelcomed. So just a friendly reminder of something we believe here and try to avoid from past experience. ๐
Well this was my first ever comment on this site, and I obviously didn’t know about this.
As for ‘teams’, I got into the Twilight thing so I guessed that that was all right, but clearly not.
I would like to apologise to anyone that has had their feelings hurt over my opinion (in a comment box that told me to speak my mind) ๐
Also I am loving the non biased name you have lol ;).
Again I am sorry for ruining any ones on line experiences.
TEAM TRUE BLOOD! ๐
xxx
I found the “Eric amnesia” scenario really silly in the books and here on TB, I guess. Trust me, will ff those scenes! As silly as those fairy scenes, imo.
Just a question, I know AB said there will be a amnesia scenario, but did he actually say it will be Eric?? Just thinking, if he did not actually say Eric, what about Franklin? He had his head bashed around and Tara does hate him? But that will be wishfull thinking. Sounds like with all the supes AB is planning for S4, it is starting to become a silly show. Now with Vampires having amnesia, I don’t know.
Thanks Isis.
Lizzie my dear, I want things to turn out next season so that the purported amnesiac is anyone but the Viking as well, but I don’t think that will happen. Big sigh.
However, I still have hope that things will turn out well for our favourite couple in the end.
BTW, if you don’t recognize my handle on this site, I am your faithful friend from the frozen North, C4B.
I so hope Sookie does at the end of this season what she did at the end of Club Dead to both vamps. She needs to be on her own for a while to figure things out, well, of course, until Eric has amnesia and ends up on her door step while Pam and Sookie try to take care of him. Can’t wait for this one. LOL.
Hi jaxx,
I agree with you. Sookie needs time to process everything. It will be nice to see Pam and Sookie bond more next season. Also, I can’t wait to see a little Eric/Sookie time even if it is only brief.
Agreed on all counts! Sookie does need time to process everything she’s been through and learned. Book 4 is my favorite in the series so if it happens will love seeing Eric with Sookie even if it’s brief, even if they don’t sleep together ack but man do I want that shower scene! LOL…
I am obviously totally team Eric but as for the other comments on this thread…Eric and Bill both have hidden agendas and are less than saintly. No one can deny that. The fun is in seeing how it plays out and how they deal with reconciling the way Sookie makes them feel with their usual behavior as a counterpoint.
The arguments and hurt feelings happen when you try to put any character on a pedestal by disparaging the others. Hopefully we can stay away from that and just enjoy sharing the love of a great show. ๐
Maggie Mae, you are a breath of fresh air here!! Welcome, welcome. Love your upbeat attitude. I totally agree. Looking forward to your comments after Sunday’s episode as well. ๐
Totally agree with ya Jaxx! MM has been a great addition to the site.
It saddens me that those that adore Bill are so hateful towards Eric. I guess there are those that are hateful towards Bill but not here.
My posts for 1 have had no Bill hate – I see all the flaws in both.
Talking masks, Bill wore a mask going into Bon Temps (but he fell in love – was it the blood that does it as QSA suggests in the end of Season 2?!) Bill was never a “bad” guy in the books either. So I don’t think he will be made into one in the show.
We all do bad things tho. Seriously, no one is totally innocent – not after the age of about 4 LOL.
Eric totally wears a “hard-arse” mask. When you look at how he treats Pam – who is not his lover – that is when the mask slips. You see he is sweet, caring and gentle. Other makers are not so kind as we know *cough* Lorena *cough*.
Cheers
Sandy
