True Blood Season 4 Spoiler News

Anna Paquin True Blood Sookie Stackhouse shower sceneThere are only 3 episodes left for season 3 of True Blood and already we have spoiler news coming out for Season 4.  It seems that Alan Ball will be going with the theme that season 4 will be the “Season of the Witch”!

Micheal Ausiello from EW.com states that Alan Ball has revealed that he will be introducing Hallow Stonebrook, the were-sorceress from Charlaine Harris’ fourth Sookie novel, Dead to the World. Michael refers to the character as a necromancer, however Alan states she is “actually a medium who communicates with the dead, and is interested in developing further powers.”

In the book, Hallow casts a spell on Eric, so as to whether Alan is going to follow this plotline we will have to wait and see.  She is described as a tall, trim brunette, so who do you see in the role?  So let’s discuss who do you think would be the perfect Hallow.

Hey Kristen, we actually have posted new actors and actresses who’ve been cast on the site, including Janina. 🙂 Just take a look at things that have the term ‘spoilers’ in the title. Those posts are most likely going to have newly cast actors and the like hidden within them. 🙂

Kristen

Unless I’ve skimmed right past any, so far I haven’t seen any spoilers for the names of any actor’s/actress’s being cast for season 4 on this site…

Well, I have one for you all! The actress named Janina Gavankar (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1232470/) whom played “Papi” in Showtime’s The L Word, will be playing a new True Blood character this upcoming season 4 known as Luna.

Happy, happy, joy, joy!

MMM heck ya on that shower scene bit!

Hi NatNat,

I agree, the books were bestsellers before the show even came out. It has to be more than 5% bookies. I remember hearing that to. Plus, a lot of people started to read the books because of the show. I started reading the books after I saw season one.

Yes, a lot of fans would be upset and dissapointed if Eric/Sookie never happens but AB hinted that it will happen at some point. Hopefully this season.

NatNat

Hi Again

I have not had the chance to come on here for awhile but i just watched an interview where the cast were talking about how only 5% of there audiance are the book readers. There has to be more than that I mean come on?

And another thing I have been waiting along time now for season 4 to come out and if we dont have any eric and sookie interaction if you know what I mean then alot of people will be both disapointed and a little frustrated. Granted that the tention between them keeps you glued to the screen and entertained but at one point it needs to happen.

I have latly been watching old TV shows with my parents and they all go on for over 6 or 7 seasons before a relationship shift like this and I must admit I found it a little tiering you know.

Im just hoping Alan will use the sookie eric relationship plot for this season as I dont want to wait forever u know ?

All right, everyone, it’s once again come to my attention that the comment policy is not being followed.

The first rule on the comment policy is to stay on topic. Conversations about the books on a True Blood season 4 spoiler thread is not staying on topic. Neither is any conversation about movies currently in theaters.

We appreciate your coming here and commenting on our articles, but please stay on topic, and leave comments about the SVM series for articles about the books. 🙂

Hi Helen, yes all the books were great. I read Covet. It is pretty good, a little spin off from the BDB books, even slight references to them. Have Crave but haven’t read it yet, probably over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Can’t wait for Dead Reckoning to come out in May. It’s such a dry spell now. I heard they’re going to start filming S4 after the holiday, so more news, spoilers, casting calls will be coming in on a daily basis. YAY!!! 7 longs months to wait yet but news will be coming in soon. S4 will be hear before you know it. 🙂

Vale

I’m glad that AB has his spin on the books, it keeps thigs unpredictable, and I’m glad he respects the books by includin the main parts of it in the show.

I sure hope we will see more of Eric’s and Pam’s personalities. Also, I would like to see some fight scenes, more Eric/Pam friendship, more Eric/Sookie. I would like AB to tone down Sam as a character because I don’t really like the way the that story is evolving. Personally, I don’t really care about Bill, I only hope Sookie won’t go back to him in the show, because she didn’t in the book.
I love Jessica/Hoyt and am keeping fingers crossed for the two of them!

Can’t wait for book 11!!!

Helen

Hey Loleaf and Jaxx

Have to agree completely the Black Dagger boys are really HOT I love them all but have a soft spot for Rhage and his “wee beastie” and Vishous they are such smart arses and goofballs. I shudder to think what would happen if they put those guys on tv – yeah tv on 24/7, square eyes and nothing done -barely able to get to work!!!. Have read all 9 books in about 6 weeks. The guide to the Black Dagger Brotherhood with the interviews had me in stitches but the novella about Bella Z and baby Nalla really tugged at the heartstrings.
I will be glad to see the next book which is due in march I think. Cant wait just like the new CH book.

Have first 2 of Fallen Angel series by J R Ward but havent opened them yet. Also have first one of Night Huntress series and judging from comments posted they should be great – just what I need another addiction and excuse to sit and read instead of doing housework, hmm what a choice.

Anway can really recommend to those who suffering TB withdrawal and need a fix of some really great, realistic and REALLY hot new characters.
However still hanging out for Eric amnesia/Sookie hookup sitch for next season should give us a little light relief as prelude for more mischief and mayhem with Victor and maybe Russell too.

~ Caitlin

Hello everyone,

Antonio, I’m glad you’ve embraced Eric/Sookies relationship. Normally, I don’t like nickname but I do like Eric’s for Sookie. I hated Quinns “Babe”. I’m glad your enjoying the books. I can’t wait till the 11th comes out in May. Maybe, you will be caught up by then the books are a bit addicting. It’s difficult to put them down. I’m all for Sookie having a little romance with Alcide. I hope Joe gets the part of Superman. Hopefully, the movies better than the last one. That was such a disappointment.

Pbt, 500 is alot. What subject and grade do you teach? Thats interesting what you said about villains. I don’t think Alcides working for Russell though. You never know how AB will switch things up. I do agree that Alcide has another side. He tries to be good but it seems like he is always getting dragged into some mess. Yes, I think Debbie and Alcide might get back together or at least hookup. She is his drug of choice.

I think Bill’s lineage will be adressed next season. A lot of people think that Sookie will have amnesia. It makes sense. I still hope it’s Eric. I’m with jaxx, I hope Sookie is gone along time and gets her stuff together. It would be tacky if she hooked up with Eric or Alcide a week after she broke up with Bill.

Yes, Loleaf we have been waiting a while for Eric/Sookie relationship in the show and in the books. CH and AB do like to torture us.Lol It’s good to build the tension though.

It should be a good season with the return of Russell and witch war. I don’t know what’s going to happen to the HotShot people. I kind of don’t even care about that storyline. I’d like to see Rev. Newling wreak havoc. I have no clue where Sams storyline is going.

Someone on some other site came up with a really good Bill/QSA theory. The person mentioned that maybe Maxine will go to Bill house to kill Jessica. She’ll see QSA and think that she is Jessica and shoot her by mistake. QSA was wearing all black and her face was covered so she could be mistaken for Jessica. Also, she has red hair. I didn’t come up with that theory though but I do agree with it. I don’t really care what becomes of QSA though. We know Bill isn’t going to die so that’s not much of a cliffhanger.

loleaf

Hi pbt, jaxx, & Antonio!! pbt that’s alot of minions under your reign lol. Alot of minds to mold, but your allowed some you time in between classes. 😉 Pretty dedicated person..you are.. ***channeling Yoda*** 🙂 But, I do hope that you get to find that time to do things that you love to do also, never deglect yourself! ***hugs to ya***
I agree with you all… I enjoyed the anmesia storyline, one of my favorite Sookie and Eric books. We know he had amnesia, but that’s the point.. He was acting in a way he felt he was suppose to act, not how a vampire sheriff is suppose to act! I also for some reason think that Sookie will be the one with the anmesia (though I sincerely hope it’s Eric). AB has his own ideas of how to torture us that we could only speculate about. We don’t know how a person of part fae heritage will handle going into faeland. I also agree that Sookie should learn about herself and what she want’s in a relationship before settleing down. Try on a couple different pairs of shoe’s before she decides to buy!! ****wink wink**** After all us Eric lovers have been patient and deserve our time of night.. 😉

*drools and pants over that imagery* YUMMY!

Well Loleaf,

I was recently told by one of the mods on Jeaniene’s website that she’s currently working hard on another one of her books… So she’ll not be blogging, tweeting, etc. very much for the time being. That means we’ve just got to be patient and wait, but I’m sure Jeaniene will keep her word. She’s pretty awesome like that! 🙂

Hehehe, yes, I can be found in MANY places! 😀 I’m just found most often on TBN for obvious reasons… 😀

loleaf

Sorry Ollie.. didn’t mean to leave you out!!! Shame shame on me.. 🙁 Got excited at the thought of Bones in those chainmail pants…and nothing else!! 😉 ***OMG..I think I’m hyperventilating*** LOL!!

loleaf

Hey Isis pretty yummy wasn’t it… 😉 Hopefully Jeaniene follows through and posts more naughty deleted scenes like she was talking about.. I’ve seen your blogs over there and wondered if it was in fact you. (does that make any since to you at all) LOL!! Getting ready to start Black Dagger Series but had to track down the book order first.. mission completed.. now am ready to start the buying and reading process!! Yeah!! Sounds like another darn addiction about to be started.. like I need another! 😉 ***snickering helplessly to myself***

jaxx

Hi guys, been a while.

Antonio, I am sooo glad you decided to read the books. Now you can see the differences, references, similarities, etc. You can also see why so many of us are Eric “lovers” ourselves. (I love when he calls Sookie “lover”. Hope they use it in S4.)

Yes, S4 should be interesting. They are casting everyday which means shooting will start soon. Can’t wait.

I agree pbt, Sookie needs to “test the waters” before making a her final decision. Let’s see her with Alcide, Eric, Sam, first.

Whoever gets amnesia, it will play out ok. It will make for an interesting twist, although, as you know, I am rooting for Eric. Sooo many good lines in DTTW when Eric has amnesia.

Portia and Bill did sort of use each other in the books for their own reasons. Then you find out their relationship. That has to come out this season.

I want Sookie to learn about herself in faeland. Find herself, figure out who she is and what her powers are and I don’t want her to be dependent on any man. I want her to be gone as long as it takes for her to come back strong and smarter, not naive. Only this way will she be able to love again and be wiser the next time around.

pbt

God Antonio, how are you and all the “old gang”? Sorry I have MIA so long. Busy as heck with back to school and taking care of the 500 minions.

Yes, True Blood is a mere 213 more days until the Season Four premier on June 12th. Not that I am counting or anything. LOL 🙂

So glad to have a chance and talk about TB with my Truebie friends. Waving hi to Jaxx, Val and all the Eric lovers. I am so looking forward to seeing what AB has in store for all of us this season. We know for sure that it won’t follow the books but it should be a great season none the less. Whether its Sookie or Eric who has amnesia, I am sure that it will be packed full of drama and hopefully lots and lots of sex.

Alcide will be a great addition to the season regulars this season. I am not totally convinced that Alcide is as good as he seems. I found the end of the season interesting and how Alcide showed up at Fangtasia. I know that Eric called him to help with Russell but something about that scene seemed odd. First showing Alcide’s feet in close up. SM had revealed in an interview that AB always films the “villains” feet in close up. That has stuck in my mind since I have heard it. Plus Russell proclaiming that “his” weres had showed up to help and enter Alcide.

I think we will see Alcide and Sookie hook up in some way, shape or form but I think it will be Eric again who will be helping Sookie break free of Russell, Debbie or even Alcide. I think Alcide and Debbie will get back together this season. Their bond is strong and Alcide is not over Debbie.

Sookie missing from Bon Temps for a period of time has me wondering if she is not the one who has the amnesia. Don’t get me wrong Eric lovers, I still hope that Eric is the one who has the amnesia but not as necessary on the show as it was in the books.

Rest assured that Mr. Compton will be around plenty this season and I am already wondering from spoilers that I have read that maybe Portia Bellefleur could be a possible love interest for Bill. Trying to make Sookie jealous is a possible story line. Though in the books, Portia and Bill are related. Hmmmm.

So many possibilities with the story lines. I am just hoping we get a bit of the DTTW plot lines. 🙂

Hi PBT How have You been? What?..No More countdowns? lol
Its been a while since ive been here. Anyway, Since ive read Dead To The World..I Really want to see Sooks and Eric together!
Their “affair” was heated and yet romantic, too! I liked how he called her “Lover”. I would Also like to see her get closer to Alcide..In the book, She and Alcide grow closer…They have a friendship going and he’s there for her when she needs someone~~as is Sam (But thats from the book, too) It was Something to see How Sookie daydreamed and thought about Alcide in the book! In Book #5 which I am reading, When he came up the walkway to get her for the Were funeral,She thought that he looked “good enough to eat”…I got a laugh out of that 1!
Anyway,Pbt Id Like to see her with Eric hed be good for her and it would be a nice change! So Many suitors…Love interests its like Shes on the Dating Game! LOL
BTW What the hell is goin on with Sam??

Antonio el lobo

I agree.DTTW is a Great book! The Eric with amnesia Storyline was 1 of the Best things about the book..for Me!
So Much was going on! I think it would be good to see Eric in That state…We’ve seen Eric as tough, hard and somewhat ruthless!
Cant believe How much Eric Yelled at Pam this year! He definitely began to crack…and unravel somewhat! Sookie:Bill Is Everything to Me! Eric: Please Don’t DO That!….It makes Me feel disturbingly human Now Does THIS sound like typical Eric Northman? No! This Past Season,We’ve seen Difffernt sides to Both Bill And Eric! A meltdown of sorts was going on! AB just might switch-it-up to make it interesting! he may make Sookie to be the one with amnesia…That would be kind of interesting, huh? Bill tries to get back with her and she doesnt remember WHO he Is?…Just More heartbreak for Bill? and Maybe,Just Maybe that may serve as the catalyst for her to become more interested in Eric? Who Knows? Next Year In June We will find out! TB S4 gets underway around the 1st week of December!

Isis Nocturne

😀 Loleaf, I assure you Ollie and I have both read those scenes… 😀

Isis Nocturne

Loleaf, add me to the list of people who recommend the BDB. They’re really good! 🙂

loleaf

Hey jaxx.. Thanks.. going to take a trip to Borders tonight!! Now you’ve got me curious!! LOL!

jaxx

Loleaf, I agree with pbt. Black Dagger Brother Series is irrestible. You’ve got to fall in love with at least one of them. Like pbt, Wrath is a favorite, along with Jon Matthews, just loved that last book. 🙂

loleaf

Hi pbt.. Sound’s like “Black Dagger Brothers” come highly recommended. I’ll have to check them out…am always looking for a good series to read! Thanks!!

loleaf

Hey Ollie, How’s it going? I agree about the Cat and Bone’s “A Huntress Novels” read them about six x’s each lol. Along with “A Drop of Crimson” and “Eternal Kiss of Darkness”. A little tidbit of info…if you go to Jeaniene’s site you can read deleted scenes from the books. Including a naughty scene about Cat and Bones after the mission at the sex club, but for that you have to sign up to the cave. Hot HOt HOT!! Need I say more.. 😉 But in the mean time there is “The Jane True Series” from Nicole Peeler that is really good. So far there are two with the third coming out Jan 1st. “Tempest Rising”, is the first and “Tracking the Tempest” the second. They’re worth checking out!! If you do let me know how you like them!

~ Caitlin

Hi Helen,

Yes it is a little odd that we don’t see more of Eric’s strength. Maybe in the witch war. I know a lot of people aren’t happy with the more ruthless Eric in the show. I do enjoy the nicer Eric in the books but I like Eric in the show to. I think it is important to show the more ruthless side of the vampires every once in a while. So that we are reminded that even though they look and act human, they are not human anymore. I do hope Eric is the to have amnesia. It should be interesting. I wonder what new storylines they will have for Bill? He kind of has a clean slate now since he was gone much of the 4th book. I’d love to see some Sookie/Pam bonding. I think that Pam might tell her history to Sookie and we’ll get to see a flashback of Eric/Pam. I’d like to hear about more of Eric’s human days. Maybe if he gets amnesia that will happen.

Helen

Hi Caitlin

I’m glad someone else agrees with me. It’s strange to see that Eric hasnt been a little more physical considering his human background as a Prince of his people and a leader of a group of Viking “soldiers” when he was made a vampire. We have seen that he was a great fighter for his people so it would be good to see that side of him. We have seen that he is quite intelligent and ruthless with what he considers his territory now so fighting for it would also make sense.

Seeing Eric clueless would be good condidering that he is quite ruthless and bossy as the Sherifso having Sookie in a position of power with him would be funny and as we have seen a little of his vulnerabilty with regards to Sookie at the end of season 3 she really seems to bring out a better side of him – he even apologises for what happened having a little more of that vulnerability would make him seem more real and not just a vampire.
Having Bill take a backseat after Sookie kicked his butt to the curb would just accentuate the difference between the 2 characters and then make a real statement of the difference between the 2 sides of the Eric character when he comes back to normal.

~ Caitlin

Hi Helen,

It stinks that you have to wait so long for shows to come on over there. We complain in the U.S. but I guess the wait is nothing compared with other places.

You brought up a good point. We have not scene much of Eric fighting. I would like to see his full strength. Yes, we saw the scene where he tore apart that guy but that was pretty much it. Half the time we see him and Pam at Fangtasia. Bill got to fight a group of weres. I want to see Eric throw down to because he only fought the one were. Then, he spoke about how weres on V are challenge even for him. I love Eric but again Bill took down several weres on V. I’m sure there is a lot about Eric’s sheriff duties that we do not know about. I also want to see Pam fight more or juut be outside of Fangtasia. Maybe she could take Jessica shopping. Pam could help plan Jess/Hoyts wedding. That would be funny.

Hopefully, the first chapter of Dead Reckonings will be up soon to read.

Vale

I am so looking forward to the whole amnesia storyline. I honestly hope they will put it in season 4! I loved it in the book!!

Helen

Hey NatNat

I agree that Dead in the Family sure is open for more mischief and mayhem as Clyde and Dermot are definitely still here, Victor Madden is still here and dare I say even Quinn hasnt left completely.
I am so looking forward to s4 with the “amnesia theme”. I sure hope that the shower scene gets included as that was a great scene in the book. I wish that we could have s4 all ready to go right now as with Christmas coming we have no really great shows in Australia over the summer as all our favourites are usually in filming in the US.and we dont get the new seasons until our winter.- such a long time to wait.

I did try however the Black Dagger Brotherhood by J R Ward while waiting for the next Sookie book and have to say they are really good and the Brothers – hot doesnt even cover it. Can really recommend if you looking for something to fill in the time.

Back to Bon Temps – hope that Claude gets a run so that we have him ready for the fairy war if AB decides to include this also the witch war will be good to see some extra weres – like Amanda and some other vampires – Clancy, Maxwell rather than just the usual. Also in that storyline we would get to see Pam fight too instead of just being around the bar. Also get to see Eric do some extended fight scenes not just the odd scene with werewolves.

What you think??

Eric NorthmanLover

I really wish Eric Loses His Memeory I want to see how he will change, because in the book he sounded so sweet!

NatNat

Yes i agree im filling in my time with other tv shows and books and i also agree that dead in the family is kool to it does strenghtan their relationship but , i have to say that it ended on a note for me which felt like a to be continued … what do you think ?

Lizzie

“She is described as a tall, trim brunette”

I can see Bridget Regan in this role, definitely. I hope this season will focus more on other creatures, not just vampire. I like concept of witches and necromancer,as reader of Lauren K.Hamilton’s series of books. I didn’t read Charlaine Harris
Btw, just discover this web page, it’s very good. From now on, my source for TB fix 🙂 Cheers

Helen

Hey NatNat
Good to hear from you and I have to say I agree completely with what you say about book 4 and Dead and Gone. I also like Dead in the Family as Sookie becomes even more sure of herself and her relationship with Eric, becoming more equal with him. I like that she even now is even able to show more character with her barbed comments to Eric’s sire and make her displeasure with his behaviour quite clear. Even sticking up and protecting Eric when she thinks he needs it and making it clear to Pam that she considers a friend.

I hope that AB manages to include part of this in future episodes as seeing how he will handle another figure from history portrayed would definitely be really interesting – the last Russian Tsar, what next?

I am hanging out for the next book to see where Charlaine Harris takes everyone from there as there are still fairies around to cause trouble and wondering what will happen next with Victor Madden also still out to get Eric and get his hands on Sookie to maybe engineer his own takeover hmm?

What do you think? It’s hard being so far away here in Australia as we dont have conventions here where we can get to meet any of the cast so I envy all the fans who get to go to them and to the red carpet/premier events to see all our favourite characters in person.

Am going to try some of the recommended other series to fill in the time till we have some more Sookie/Eric to read and see.
What do you say?

~ Caitlin

The books sound interesting I might check the ones with that narractor out it’s something different from vampires. I just assumed Bitten was a vampire book.

NatNat

I agree that would be a sweet sight

NatNat

Hi Glad you agree with me its good to see someone gets it lol

Im just hoping that the 4th season starts of well and has similar plots to the book as this is my favorite book of them all apart from Dead and gone.

I think in response to other comments that they will proberly have a lets find sookie episode to begin with and maybe end it with eric running down the road. I hope so at least what do you think ?

Helen

Hi NatNat, Yep a definite Eric/Sookie fan. I think they are better suited as a couple as Eric has more of a fun personality and he was closer to Sookie’s age when he was made a vampire. Bill is a lot more serious and not so fun – dare I say boring character.

I like Eric’s sense of fun and mischief also Eric pretty much does as Eric wants. He pays lip service to the fact he has a Queen (boss) and really does as his told when he absolutely has to and even then tries to twist things around to suit himself. In saying this he is also very loyal to those around him – Pam and Sookie in particular, even if a little bossy and high-handed but that makes Pam’s teasing him and Sookie’s defiance even funnier as it frustrates him. Lets face it not many people tell him no.
Pam really is great and as you said loves to make mischief. She does help Sookie get into more strife thanks to her. But things would be a little boring without her stirring Eric up and livening things up a little.
I am looking forward to seeing what Alan Ball has in store for us with regards to Russell and how are they going to fit in the whole vampire conference thing and what about the Packmaster funeral and contest as that introduces Quinn. Now that is a real distinctive character and I wonder who would be chosen to play that part if he is part of the series – I hope so as seeing a tiger come to life would be great. What do you think?

NatNat

Yes I agree I too would love to see more of Pam in future series as her character normally is very unique and witty. She has the ability to make Eric sit up and think about his decisions but can sometimes be the reason (in the TV show ) that Sookie gets into more trouble ,don’t you think ?

Yes also claudine and claud will be fun to see too im looking forward to that.

Are you a fan of Eric and sookie then ?

please reply to me

slward2

Sookie does have to come home, I think they will play it up for at least an episode with her missing and everyone looking for her and then she’ll come home with Claudine at her side as her fairy-godmother and Nihal will pop in during the season at different times. But when she does come home after that Eric can start running around half-naked. While she’s missing they can show the deals that Hallow tries to make with Eric before she curses him.

Bitten is a great book; the series acually has 11 books in it. However, all the books are completely independent of one another. Each book has different narrator. The first 2 books in the series are narrated by Elena Michaels. Then the author switches to a different narrator that who is a different supernatural being. If you are not interested in a long series then I would suggest reading the books narrated by Elena. She is a werewolf; the only female werewolf and the wolf who bit her is gorgeous. Elena narrates Bitten, Stolen, Broken, and Frostbitten. The books have overlapping characters but the stories do not overlap; only small references are made. But the references will not take away from the main story or make you believe that you have missed a crucial point in the background of the characters.

Isis Nocturne

Ok, fellow Cat & Bones lovers, I’ve got good news directly from Jeaniene’s blog!

Just head over to http://jeanienefrost.com/2010/10/new-book-news/ and share in the glee! 😀 *does geeky happy dance*

~ Caitlin

It would be a great way to start out the season with Eric running down the road. That was surprising in Dead to the World. Sookie has to come back from Fairyland first. How long is she going to stay there? In the book they have no concept of time. I hope they skip ahead a few weeks or months in season four. It would give eveyone a chance to settle and then pull the rug out from under them.

Someone told me about that Bitten book maybe I’ll check it out sometime. How many books are in the series? I do not want to start another series with 9+ books.

slward2

I’ve never commented on one os these sites before, but what everyone’s says is really interesting.
I have read all the books and I love the series I own both on blu-ray, I had to buy then the first week they came out.
I’m hoping that during season 4 Alan Ball uses the memory loss plot line from the book; its my favorite book and the basline for the the emergence of the Sookie/Eric relationship. I really hope its used… especially the beginning with Eric running half-naked down the road towards Sookie’s house. There is so much that happens in the 4th book that the show will be amazing.

Also, I wanted to recommend a few authors to those book lovers who are waiting for the new Stackhouse novel:

Kelley Armstrong: The Women of the Otherworld Novels
(all the books involve supernatural characters; werewolves are the most prevalient; there are also witches, sorcerers, necromancers, etc.)
Book 1: Bitten

Patricia Briggs: Mercy Thompson Series
(more werewolves, shifters, & vampires)
Book 1: Moon Called

Hipefully these series will help someone through their wait for Sookie both in novel form and on the screen….

pbt

I agree that “Bones” is delectable and the Night Huntress series. But even more delicious are the Black Dagger Brothers. JR Ward is amazing and really leaves CH and JF in the dust with her series.

If you have not read the “brothers”, they are a must read. Each book is based on a separate brother. Vishous is a personal favorite along with Wrath.

pbt

Hey Ollie. Back to school and the school grind. Miss all of you desperately.

I don’t know about “disagreements” but if you are talking about Bill’s lies most definitely Alan Ball will put Bill and Sookie back together. But let’s have a little loving with the wolf and with the Viking first.

Change it up a little for a change. 🙂

Ollie Chong aka AdoreBill

Hi Nia, Lizzie, Jaxx, Loleaf, and all,

Been busy myself so haven’t had time to comment much but do miss chatting with everyone. I just had to share and state that Isis got me hooked on Jeanine Frost’s Night Huntress series and it is amazing!!! Definitely filling the void while True Blood is on hiatus! If you get the chance read the series starting with Cat and Bones in Halfway to the Grave, One Foot in the Grave, At Grave’s End, and Destined for an Early Grave followed by the short story in Death’s Excellent Vacation (with a Sookie Stackhouse short story in it too) and the Night Huntress World series First Drop of Crimson, and Eternal Kiss of Darkness. The next book, This Side of the Grave, comes out February 22, 2011 and I CAN”T WAIT!!! If you thought True Blood was hot wait until you read these!!! I guarantee you will fall in love with BONES!!! LOL Even Charlaine Harris said if she could choose any fictional character to marry she said she would chose BONES! Read the books and you will see why! 😀 Oh and all I can say is Chapter 32 in Book 2 (One Foot in the Grave). 😀 LOL we’re going to need some therapy after all this! 😀

Ollie Chong aka AdoreBill

Yes it will be interesting to see what Alan will bring in for Season 4 as he will definitely throw some curveballs in Bill and Sookie’s relationship and test their love for each other. It will be wonderful to see how he will make Bill and Sookie’s relationship and make them come to the realization that despite their disagreements they are “soulmates” as Alan states.

Helen

Hi NatNat
You are certainly right about a lot of other movies/series only being similar to the books in title only and then being a disappointment but Alan Ball has certainly covered this facet of film making really well and bridged both literary and film worlds quite closely. Like you and lots of others we hope he keeps it up.

I love Pam’s character. She is really funny. I hope we get to see more of her. Also bring Claudine to life for Sookie as her guardian angel – heaven knows she needs one and giving us a look at Claude would be great too as he comes in and out of the future books. I dont know about you but watching the extra characters come to life is so much fun and guessing who will appear next is good fun too. It gives us something to talk about while waiting for our next instalment of life in Bon Temps and Sookie/Eric ongoing story

Meow Meow

Wow! 11th book? I just hope the britlingens are focused! I realy like to know more about clovache!

NatNat

I hope it is Eric with the memory loss. I also like the way they covered Russel with cement this way if Alan decided he can bring him back, very smart move.

NatNat

NatNat

Yea I agree with you seeing Eric in Lycra would be so funny but Season 3 still came across very well. Oh I also agree Bubba is a cool character and I hope we meet him on true blood one day.

I also agree Alan has done a great job so far with true blood as most other book to movies or TV shows tend to always lack the heart found in the books or completely divert from the book altogether. Its just nice to see the books and the show relate to each other in most way.

And I agree we need more Eric and sookie for true blood. but that kiss they had in season 3 must be an introduction to there relationship now so we need to expect something from them both for season 4. Let me know if this makes sense and if you agree

Thanks

NatNat

~ Caitlin

AB mentioned that a character would lose his or her memory next season. I hope it is Eric but you never no how AB will switch things up. That storyline is such a big part of the book and a foundation for Sookie and Eric’s ongoing attraction to each other.

I think that Hoyt might become like Bubba in a future season. Jason has been calling him Bubba a lot this season. I know that is a southern nickname but I think it might be alluding to something.

Helen

Thanks for the reply NatNat. Im glad others think it would be great if the plot line in Dead to the World can be included in the next series. There is so much other craziness going on a little bit of fun and romance would help to balance that out.

I would have loved to have seen Bubba included as his character is really funny and I thought Charlaine Harris was really clever and funny to have played on all the “sightings” over the years – he was and still is a favourite of mine – also the vision of Eric in pink lycra would have been really funny too but Alan Ball went in a different way which is great for a long running series which we all want.
Just hoping he continues to please the book readers too with choosing good salient ideas/themes from each book to include with his own gread ideas to keep the mayhem and fun continuing and our favourite characters – Eric – on our screens for a long time to come.

NatNat

Hey thanks for the agreement to mine and hurricanes comments appreciate it. I think the more of us that speak about the fact that we want the Eric/Curse/Memory loss plot. Then it may be more likely that someone from HBO will see our comments and decide to go along with them. Thats what im hoping anyway, What about you?

Reply to my comment

Thanks

NatNat

Helen

Hi I agree with Hurrican and NatNat with regards Eric/Sookie being a better match. He is a much stronger character for her and matches her strength wit and loyalty – just more devious which he has to be to survive and protect her (which he does but just doesnt tell her everything).
I also hope that Alan Ball keeps the Eric curse/memory loss plot for the next season as it gives a chance for them to develop a closer relationship and gives Sookie some leverage over Eric for a while as he cant remember what happened.
It then gives Alan a chance to develop Eric in different ways for a bit and bring in different characters and themes.
I just hope the he will continue to pick different themes from the books and then develop other ideas around them for fans of both the books and the series as we all love them both and continue to look forward to more of both.

NatNat

I agree with this …. Alan should continue with what he is doing.
Hes done great so far.

I hope that season 4 is good and worth waiting for……

NatNat

I agree with you about the sookie Stackhouse defense as she is confused about what she wants. But I must say she and Eric are a good match. The books detail them as a great couple after a while and its worth it I hope HBO keep season 4 in the plot line as the book Dead to the World.

NatNat

Hi

Just wanted to say I have read all the current Charlaine Harris Novels and one of my favorites. It would be excellent if HBO could use the plot line in Dead to the world as its crucial to keep the other books and future seasons of True Blood making sense.

I hope I have made some sense in writting this and hopefully someone will take notice as I am a fan of the books and so far am a fan of the Tv Show.

So keep it up HBO your doing great

anonymouns

wish Sookie would just settle with either Bill or Eric… Its nice to have the love story bit work out or at least the promise of it… I am old fashioned that way. All the rest of the show can get crazier and weirder then as long as the love part sorted.

RenaissanceGirl

Comment taken in wrong vein. Rather, just a wishful fancy that the series could find a way to include a scene that is a fan favorite of the book series readers. Of course, Mr. Ball has shown that his version is unique, enthralling, campy and edgy in its own right. Twas just some wishful thinking written on the page. Regardless of his direction, he manages to leave fans of both books and series hungry for more…

Editor’s Note:

This comment has been deleted.

Though it is all right to mention the books when discussing True Blood, it is not all right to suggest that Alan Ball cannot make True Blood anything he wants it to be.

Please read our comments policy.

I guess the confusion Hurricane is many people are using book explanations with the TV show. Just to let you know we use what has happened up to now in the show to debate about facts and speculate, since the show is so different from the books now. So to state “Bill does date another person by the way,was using her and yes all on his Queen’s orders, he did not want to main stream he did not want to get in a relationship with a human” is not valid for True Blood since it did not occur. Some people have made those statements about Sookie because as we saw in Season 1 Bill was on trial for killing a vampire for saving Sookie’s life and just a day or two of him not returning she gives up on him and starts kissing Sam on the sofa. Then as we saw in Season 3 she is engaged to the man she professed her love to several times and yet kisses Eric. She is not a teen, she’s 25 going on 26 and is very independent, therefore people would question her character. LOL I don’t think many partners would appreciate the person they are engaged to (or even someone who has professed their love to them countless times) kissing someone the way Sookie was kissing Eric.

Hurricane-Bridgette

I have never commented nor read this wesbite before with it’s spoilers and sneak peeks and such. But I just read a bunch of your comments. I am bit confused, everyone keeps calling Sookie a tart, and going back and forth between men.

She gets confused a bit, but when Sookie is with one man, and he and she knows it, she is loyal. So how is her being confused by her emotions, never being able to date or be around guys, then all these supes like her and she can be herself, how is liking that attention and not knowing how to handle it being a tart?

In the last book I read the 10th one, that was when she was barely choosing to get serious with Eric.

Sam?? There has always been tension there, she loves him, but what type of love? The chemistry has been there in the show and the books. BUT she never sleeps with him, never leads him on, they fight like best friends. Which is what I think they are.

Alacaide? There is attraction there, but the most she does is kiss him, then in the books he turns into to much of an emotional mess. HOw is she going back and forth between him and Bill?

Bill? Does date another person by the way, he lied to her, was using her and yes all on his Queen’s orders, he did not want to main stream he did not want to get in a relationship with a human. BUT he does fall in love with her, and he is a good southern man/vampire in their relationship. I mean that by the whole protective, you need me, passionate way. He causes just as much damage to Sookie as Eric does.

Eric? Now there is sexual tension and sassy banter from the begining, but she does not do anything till book 4, while he has forgotten who he is, but she is not with Bill, she is not with Sam and she is not with Alcaide(sp?) so nothing bad, then he does not even remember for what two books? She then gets with Quinn, which is barely in the picture and only sleeps with him once, which she says she should not have.

Anyways I guess I am just giving one long winded ass defense of Sookie, lmao, she is not a user or a slut. She is young, only has true feelings for Bill and Eric, has crushes as young gals do and is confused on how to handle the attention.

I am torn between wanting them to stay with the tv show and let Bill and Sookie be together and the book and let her be with Eric. Either way I love both series and will continue to read new book and watch new eposides.

Phew.=)

Okay I am done.

lol

~ Caitlin

I looked it up on You Tube after pbt mentioned it. It’s called promo two clip. Half of it is a recap of the last 3 episodes but at the end of the clip there is new stuff. Hope that helps.

Arianna

Where did you all see this clip?

~ Caitlin

Probably, Eric/Sookie will only be together a few episodes next season. Then, she won’t be with Bill or Eric. We will be equally upset. If Eric/Sookie ever get back together it won’t be for another 3+ seasons. Maybe part of the reason Eric turned Pam was because he was lonely. All Eric had was Godric. At least, Eric had a wonderful maker. It’s terrible that Bill was stuck with psycho Lorena. Lorena’s maker help drive her insane.

pbt, I saw the clip where Bill’s invitation gets rescinded. I’m sure Sookie will rescind Eric’s as well. I don’t think she will give either of them the chance to explain their actions. I wonder if Sookie will find out in thhe finale that Russell killed Eric’s family? At least Bill and Eric will work together to save the world from Russell. That is a plus.

Darn, we have to wait another week for True Blood!!!

Have a happy Labor Day everyone!

pbt

Yes, Ollie. Bill is very afraid. We can definitely agree on that point. As far as knowing how Sookie will react, honestly we don’t know because he continues to withhold information from her. It really is too bad that continues to not trust her in this matter.

Sookie is naive and immature. Part of growing up is having many different experiences including relationships. Bill has been her only “adult type” relationship on the show. Sookie trying different relationships will add to the drama. While we don’t know exactly where Alan Ball is taking all of the drama but its pretty clear from this season that Eric and Sookie will be getting closer. We have already seen them getting closer and from Sookie’s comments she has been thinking about Eric.

The sparring is actually much less than in season two and as we all know we actually got to see Eric and Sookie together for a kiss. As Lala says, hallelujahs. Do I expect these to be together forever? Of course not. I am sure that Bill will reenter the picture for Sookie’s heart again. Though I suspect he will have to take a number with Alcide.

I agree it will be heartbreaking when Sookie rescinds Bill’s invitation. It will also be the same heart break when Sookie doesn’t understand the reasoning for Eric’s actions with Russell. Alan Ball continues to balance our two vamps out. A genius for sure.

Both of our vampires have been alone for so along and I guess in Eric’s case for 850 years longer. I wish Eric would remember their time together next season but he probably won’t. That will be heartbreaking too.

Ollie Chong aka AdoreBill

I guess that is why I do not find the attraction between Eric and Sookie because a couple that is constantly sparring is not a healthy relationship and means there are major problems between the two of them. One point that you brought up pbt is perhaps the very reason i feel for Bill and his dilemma in telling the truth to Sookie. He IS afraid that she will reject him and will not look beyond the fact that although he was sent there he FELL IN LOVE with her and TRULY loves her and cherishes her. Unfortunately Sookie can be quite immature, stubborn and cannot look beyond the surface and see the reasoning behind his actions.

So of course he is afraid that she will not accept him. He has been “lost” and alone for so long never to feel love again and to finally meet the one person that he truly cares about and who cares about him, of course he is afraid to lose her. And it seems unfortunately that he will be right about Sookie, she will not accept him and look beyond the situation and be rejected by the one he loves. So sad it breaks my heart, but this is a show that has to have drama and Alan needs to have Sookie play around so we all know it will happen, though I will not be looking forward to watching those scenes. 🙁

Isis Nocturne

Thank you Caitlin! 🙂 Hope your semester gets better for you!

Isis Nocturne

Well, Caitlin, keep your eyes open for the Night Huntress series here on TBN… 😉

~ Caitlin

I don’t think I’ve heard of that book. Really, I think I’m going to take a break from series books for a while other that Sookie Stackhouse of course and Vampire Diaries. I have several books I bought and never read like The Pillars of the Earth. I got it when it was on Oprah’s book club list. Now I noticed the miniseries is out but haven’t seen it. I thought about reading the (House of Night) books. I didn’t relize how many there were (8 I think) so I opted not to read them. Maybe Eric can pay for their trip LoL. Better yet maybe he’ll get someone to fix her house. Poor Gran’s probably rolling over in her grave. Her house is such a mess.

~ Caitlin

Good luck with your classes Isis! I’m also taking classes and so far I’m not enjoying it at all. I think lit classes are fun though. I don’t have any this semester.

~ Caitlin

Hi pbt,

I need to watch this new promo! I feel the same way that Sookie started to have feelings for Eric in episode 8 season two(Timebomb). Perhaps, she was always intrigued by him. I loved that conversation they had about Godric being his maker. That was one of my favorite episodes of season two. I think Sookie stands up for herself more when she is with Eric. I agree with you there and about her feeling guilty. I’m sure she is also confused by her feelings for Eric.

pbt

I agree they need to take a Vegas vacation together. LOL. I agree Catilin many many great series out there. Do you love the J. Frost series too? Cat and Bones!

pbt

I agree Caitlin that this is part of the charm between Bill and Sookie. Sookie will always hold a place for him because he was her first. She was naive and inexperienced. Bill knew that almost from moment number one. Sookie made is quite clear to him in the woods behind Merlotte’s.

I guess when I watch Bill and Sookie interact he has Sookie doubting herself and not listening to her intuition any more. I find that hard to watch sometimes. Though lately she is doubting more and more what Bill is saying.

I enjoy watching Eric and Sookie sparring with each other. The tension is there and as Sookie has admitted its been there for some time. I think it was hinted that the attraction is amped up by feelings that were already there before the blood tie.

I actually thought episode 8 of season two was when Sookie started to see and feel something more for Eric and that was before the blood tie. The entire FOTS situation put Eric in a different light with Sookie. Despite Bill saying noooo Sookie released Eric from the silver chains that Steve Newlin was using in the church.

When Sookie is around Bill she states differently about how she feels because she feels guilty to a certain extent. Did you guys see the newest promo with Sookie and Bill? So emotionally charged.

Spoilers

Sookie rescinding Bill’s invitation!

~ Caitlin

When Bill and Sookie first started dating, I think she was a little more naive. Sookie didn’t know much about vampires. I think Bill has been the more dominate one in their relationship. Now, Sookie is becoming less naive. When Sookie/Eric get together I don’t think she is going to allow him to be as dominate in the relationship. I enjoy that battle of the sexes aspect to Eric/Sookie relationship. Just my opinion.

~ Caitlin

I think I’m going to take a break from any other vampire series books for now. I’ve read (Twilight Saga, Vampire Diaries, and Sookie Stackhouse books). I can’t wait for the 11th Stackhouse book to be released. There are just so many vamp series books out there to read with 4 + books per series. Maybe I’ll read it sometime.

I think Sam and Tara could be good together. However, now that he might become a raging alcoholic I don’t know if that is the best situation for Tara. She and Sookie should take a break from men and go on a much needed vacation. It sounds like next season Sam’s situation is supposed to get worse. I’d also, like to see Jason/Tara together at some point.

pbt

Actually hasn’t Eric put Sookie before Pam in his plan with Russell? He has told Pam of his intention to will everything to her if he meets the truth death. He refused to use Sookie in his plans but Pam insisted that Russell was going to get Sookie anyways. So use her and figure out how to kill Russell. Eric has known Sookie only for a brief period of time in vampire terms. I found it interesting that he did chose Sookie over Pam and Pam wasn’t overly happy about this. I am very intrigued with Pam and Eric’s relationship. I hope we get some flashbacks with these two.

As Sookie has said herself, lying is not protecting. Sookie is not a thing to be protected. Bill doesn’t tell Sookie because he is afraid. He afraid that Sookie will not accept Bill for everything that he is. The one thing that Eric is not afraid to do. He has shown everything to Sookie. Well quite literally 🙂 Eric isn’t afraid to allow Sookie to be herself and to get into a trouble. He doesn’t treat her as an object to be protected. And heaven knows, Eric sees Sookie can be a whole bunch of trouble.

That is one of the primary differences between the two vamps. Eric has been shown to Sookie for all the bad things that he has done, he has admitted to most of his lies.

~ Caitlin

Sorry to get off topic. I really liked (The Scarlett Letter) when we read it in high school (Dimmesdale was a little agrravating though). Also, I thought Hawthornes(Young Goodman Brown) was a good story as well. I loved Emily Bronte’s (Whuthering Heights). Eli Wiesel’s (Night) is very moving. Anthony Burges (A Clockwork Orange)was somewhat challenging to read but interesting.

Isis Nocturne

Currently, Saucy, my class is reading Whitman and Dickinson. Last semester, I read the stuff you mentioned. 🙂

Ollie Chong aka AdoreBill

pbt I have to strongly disagree. To say Bill and Sookie’s romance is self serving is ridiculous when it has been proven on the show countless of times the depth of their love. Bill has proven himself and his love for Sookie over and over again and almost died in some of the cases. Just recently he told Sookie that if he had to prove to her that he loved her for who she is not what she is then he will prove it by never tasting her blood ever again. That is NOT showing your love? Even Alan has said that their love is genuine, no pretense involved in his feelings for Sookie. I will go with what Alan says and what he said he has developed for the show.

The relationship is not based on a lie. The reason he came there may have been for different reasons then what he said but the love and the feelings that they have for each other is real. The stuff that Eric has done are much worse then what Bill has. I lie coming to Bon Temps is nothing in comparison to someone who tricked and LIED to Sookie into drinking his blood when she didn’t have to do it (that would piss me off forcing me to have a connection with him), calling in Lorena and not saying so, bringing her in to confine Bill, kidnapping and torturing her friend (Lafayette), and most recently throwing her and chaining her up in a dungeon. Sorry this guy I would NEVER trust and give my heart to.

I’m sorry if I’m sounding too strong I do not mean too. Yes both vampire have not been truthful but hearing constantly how Bill’s wrongs are worse then Eric’s wrong just sometimes makes me need to speak up and say Alan Ball has reiterated what is the true nature of their relationship and to say otherwise is ignoring the truth and seeing only what you want to see.

Saucy Moffit

I had taken an 3 Literature classes myself; what are you reading (Hawthorne, Harriet Beecher Stowe etc.)? loved it.
Lots of STRONG opinions about the show…intense. I live in the South now..NC. Lots of history here, too.
Take Care, Isis.

~ Caitlin

Hi pbt,

I agree that Bill has had an ample amount of time to tell the truth to Sookie. Yes, I understand his reasons for lying to Sookie. The fact is, Sookie has confronted Bill about his lies many times. Last season, she even asked him what else he was keeping from her. Still he continued to lie. In this weeks episode, even Sookie seemed at her breaking point. Honestly, Sookie will probably find out Bill’s secret from someone else. Eric did admit to Sookie that he lied to her about the Nazi wolf pack. Maybe Eric would be better off forgetting about Sookie. I like to think that at some point Scarlett and Rhett reunite. Scarlett is very persistent. Also, I think that Sookie will save Eric. Maybe Godric will help from beyond the grave. Godric might tell Eric to let go of his vengence. This is the second time Eric is willing to meet the sun.

****SPOILER*****
Who knows what will happen after the blood bond is broken in the next couple books? Your theory could be right pbt. I believe Sookie had feelings for Eric even before she ingested his blood. When the bond is broken, I think she will still have feelings for Eric. However, I do not know to what extent her feelings will be for Eric (after the bond is severed).

pbt

Yes, Rhett does leave in the end knowing that Scarlett is perfectly fine and perhaps she will realize what she is losing. Which Scarlett does in the last moments of the movie and the book. I could very well see this happening in the books but not in the series.

pbt

Good luck this semester Isis 🙂

pbt

Saucy this is a great series. I am half way through the second book and loving it. I hope the last book is just as good.

Isis Nocturne

Hey Saucy,

Yes I’ve been keeping up with everything! LOL, it’s just that I’m in school, so I have less and less time to comment…. Which I frankly hate, but grades before fun. 😉 Ironically, though, I’m taking American Lit 2, and the first things we’re reading ALL come from the time period where Bill Compton was turned, which makes class really interesting to me.

Anyways, even if I’m not commenting, I’m still here writing posts and keeping up with comments. 🙂 LOL, I guess I’m kind of like a ghost. You may not see me, but I’m here! 😀

pbt

I guess I saw the correlation in that Scarlett thinks she loves Ashley and that Rhett is someone not to be trusted or loved. Very much like True Blood Sookie, Bill and Eric.

Eric is the vampire that Sookie professes not to love and that he is not worth of trust much like Rhett. Rhett was not entirely honorable or trust worthy either. I do believe he left Scarlett in the middle of a battle by herself with a newborn and Melanie under the bridge.

As far as Ashley loving Scarlett, I have always thought he did but not the kind of love Scarlett wanted. Ashley did mislead Scarlett into believing that he loved her on a certain plane. Too “afraid” of himself, his feelings and his intentions with Scarlett much I believe like Mr. Compton. While he truly thinks he loves Sookie but his motivations are not entirely honorable.

Yes, Rhett does leave Scarlett in the end. Why? Because he was honorable in the end, and let’s face he was sick of Scarlett and her “issues”. Do I think this could happen in the book series or even in the show? Definitely. Even though Rhett loved Scarlett, he was willing to give her up and move on with his life. I could Eric doing that very easily.

pbt

Sookie is not drained and I believe we will see this in the upcoming finale. Sookie will be visiting faeland once again and I believe Claudine will be helping once again to heal Sookie.

I agree that Bill speaking up about not “draining” Sookie was to help convince Russell into the ruse that he and Eric were creating. Let’s face it Russell is not believing the mendacious Mr. Compton and anything that he says. Eric was quick to agree and hopefully convince Russell not drink too much.

In the next episode, Sookie realizes what Eric has done with Russell and we see here running into the parking lot to zap Russell with her microwave fingers and help with silver chains. I am waiting patiently to see what Godric says to Eric. I am hoping that Sookie will be made privy to that conversation.

pbt

Leelu. I would always readily admit that the Viking is not perfect no matter how good looking and hot he is. Sookie did run to Bill. Of course, we will both admit now that some of that attraction was because of the vast amounts of blood that Sookie had. Bill constantly professes his love for Sookie to further entrap her in his web of deceit. While the Queen did send Bill on a mission, it has been his repeated lies that dismay me the most. I can’t count how many times Sookie has asked Bill to tell the truth.

Eric has never professed his love and lied to Sookie saying that he loved her. His interest started as a curiosity and so did her interest too. Though Sookie would never admit it at first, it is evident that Eric has been on her mind for quite a long time and not entirely because of the blood in Dallas. As Sookie said, she saw entirely different side of Eric on that roof top. Is Eric any better? I am not sure at this point.

As far as Russell is concerned, if Sookie would step back and realize what the Viking has been doing all along in the background that he truly has her best interests at mind. Remember Sookie is not Eric’s. She is Bill’s. Eric’s first priority is to his progeny Pam. Her safety was his primary concern in Jackson, next was revenge for his entire family and finally was Sookie. As Bill said to Eric, save Sookie. Bill even wanted Eric to put Sookie before himself.

I am not sure how Eric is killing Sookie for Russell. Unless you are referring to the scene where they fed on her in episode 11. Sookie is perfectly fine. As was seen, Eric reluctantly fed on Sookie and communicated as best he could in front of Russell that this is not how he wanted this to happen. The touch of the face, the look on his face and even how he swallowed several times showed his remorse and concern having to use Sookie for this purpose.

If Eric’s plan works, Bill and Sookie will be safe from Russell’s craziness. Eric has every intention of dying to save Sookie. He said so himself. He means to take Russell with him in the “truth” death. Its the best Eric can do under the circumstances. Its not perfect by any means but its the best for now. Eric totally realizes that what he does will mean that Sookie will be safe even if he dies in the process. That’s pretty selfless in my book.

pbt

That was ripe coming from Pam the original cold hearted biatch herself. LOL.

pbt

Well she got what Eric promised. Good sex and job. LOL.

pbt

Hey Ollie.

It is getting good isn’t it? What will Alan Ball do with our vampires next? Will Eric realize that he really does love Sookie and he really does need her? Will the Queen and Bill finally reveal what their “deal” is? Will Alcide and Debbie get back together? Will Sookie get the entire truth from Claudine about her powers and Bill?

So many great plot lines going on and what will happen next?? 9 more days!

Leelu

Even Erics beloved Pam called him a cold hearted b*****d for that one. How come Pam didnt think Yvetta was a gold digging w***e?

Leelu

But of course he made sure he used her well first.

Leelu

So now that Eric likes Sookie and would put her before pam, does that make him now an infatuated tween too? Bill and Sookies relationship is not based on a lie or untruth. Only his first reason for coming there. What happened afterwards was pure love. I dont blamme Bill for not wanting to tell her, he loves her to much and knows that would hurt her. He probably would have told her if not so many people and situations got in the way.

pbt

Who in their right mind thinks they are going to be put in someone’s will after knowing them for all of three days? I mean really. For a cardiologist from Estonia, she was completely clueless. I think the Viking had her pegged correctly as the “gold digging whore” she is.

Leelu

Hey there pbt, Sookie ran to Bill, remember! Bill did not want to bite her, she invited him to. And to his reason for being in BonTemps, we all know that he was sent, but that doesnt mean he doesnt love her and would die for her. Bill is not a perfect guy thats for sure but he is perfect in his love for her.
And just for one thing, Eric kept a truth from her, using her and almost killing her for Russell. All to undo something that was all his fault. So I dont get your point.
Eric has some good things about him but so far his bad is really
to much bad to stomach.

pbt

Hey Leelu. While some see their “romance” as “pure and good”, there are some who see it as self serving infatuation. Pam’s line in the last episode to Bill about “infatuated tween” and the bigger picture was on the mark. For someone so young in vampire years, Pam really is quite wise.

Neither vampires has been entirely truthful with Sookie. But there is only one vampire who has claimed his love for Sookie and based their entire relationship on a lie or untruth.

By the end of the this season, neither vampire will end up on Sookie’s good side and both will have their invitations rescinded. Sookie is totally fed up with the supe world and rightfully so. Unfortunately, now that she has been “outed” in this world, she will no longer be able to return to the “normal” lifestyle that she and Bill fantasized about.

pbt

Waving hi to Leelu. Don’t forget to look at the underlying reasoning and purpose of each of our vampires actions. Why did Bill so quickly “need or want” to consummate his “love” for Sookie? Why did Eric “want or need” to imprison Sookie in his Fangtasia basement?

As we know from the last episode, Eric kept Sookie in his basement to entice Russell to Fangtasia in hopes of the ultimate vampire dream. While it has not been entirely spoiled yet, it appears that Bill has his own reasons for needing Sookie under his “control”.

It will be interesting to see where Alan Ball will be taking both of these plot lines in the future episodes. Neither of our vampires are purely good or evil. Its obvious that Alan Ball continues to balance both of these characters and blurs their intentions.

9 more days until the v-ddiction continues.

Leelu

Hey I forgot to add, Who was the one to wisk Sookie in to his arms and carry her in to his house and make sweet love to her (Bill)? And then who was the one to throw Sookie over his shoulder and dump her on the dirty floor, where he killed people, and put a chain on her neck (Eric)?
Just saying.

Leelu

Boy do I agree too saucy. Bill and Sookies love story is great. It will go down in history as one of the best if not also a tragic love story. Bills love for Sookie will be unrivaled. I watch it for them. I do like Alcide and think he is a good guy like Bill but he is not for Sookie. He has to much else going on.
And Eric for Sookie is just shallow. He uses women and throws them away. Like Yvetta. She was my hero last episode. She said it like it is.

Leelu

LOL, What show have you been watching?

Leelu

Have to agree with you there Ollie. I see Bill and Sookies love as pure and good. Bill kept the truth from Sookie and should have told her, yes. I think he would have sooner or later. Eric has used her and lied to her more than Bill. If Eric wants a good relationship with Sookie, will he start telling her some of the nasty things hes done? Trying to bribe Bill with a get out of jail card, for Sookie, in saeson one, calling in Lorena, trying to abduct Bill, using her and Bill to get Russell? He threw her in a dirty basement without telling her why. Isnt that keeping a truth from her? WOW, some people just dont see it do they.

Saucy Moffit

Hello Isis: have you been keeping up with the posts? Whew! I barely know what to say. I know we are Bill fans…Well, nothing can change my mind.

Leelu

Gone with the Wind? Eric is Rhett? Are you kidding? I dont see this at all. Absolutely different situations.
Rhett was so much better than Eric and Bill so completely different than Ashley. Plus Ashley did not love Scarlet, Whereas Bill loves, sacrifices, and would die for Sookie. Eric take care of Sookie? Again are you kidding?
Eric only gets her in to danger and hurt.
If he was a real man he would have found a way to defeat Russell without using and draining Sookie. Even Bill had to remind him not to drain her to the point of death. And it sure seems Bill (who helped Eric only after Bill must have been assured that Erics plan will work) will be blamed more than Eric for this whole fiasco.
Bill will only ever be the one to give up everything for Sookie.

~ Caitlin

Also, I think Sookie/Eric are like Lizzie/Mr. Darcy in (Pride and Prejudice). At first Lizzie thinks she despises Mr. Darcy. Both are stubborn and prideful. Then, she begins to see a different side to him. Eventually, Lizzie falls in love the with him.

~ Caitlin

Hi pbt,

I also, found the Rhett/Scarlett (Eric/Sookie) analogy very interesting in the books. Unfortunately, Rhett leaves Scarlett in the end. She kind of did deserve to be left though. I always hoped that at some point she would win Rhett back.

Isis Nocturne

Chica, we’ve discussed this point several times here… Alan Ball will not be using Bubba at all. He feels that using an impersonator is incredibly tacky, and it would come off as extremely corny onscreen. So as much as some of us love Bubba, he’s just not going to be around.

Chica

there are many talented actors out there that could pull that part off for sure!!! look at all the impersonators for that person! i’m sure a few of them could have some kind of acting talent! Hell they impersonate E.. you know who.. we dare not say his name!!! lol.. I am with ya’ll though.. I MISS BUBBA!!! He was a huge part of protecting Sookie and being Bills go to guy for her protection in his absence! I wish they would find some way to write his character in… i’m sure it’s not too late.

Saucy Moffit

The posting by Debra says it all: good explanation… Let’s all just relax and enjoy the show for what it is. We are all getting different experiences that seem to satisfy what we want. Just like in life, “stuff happens”…but I am still searching for that love story, but with the way Sookie hops all around with different “men”..I’m not sure. It’s all up to Alan Ball now.
I also want to mention that there is a series (new..just 3 books) written by Gail Carriger that everyone might like. The first book is Soulless. There’s vampires, werewolves etc. GREAT READING. Her third book just came out a few days ago. Start with book one though.
Afterthought: I hope Sam and Tara save each other…

Helen Dickenson

A real fan of the books but would love to have seen a little more of the book theme in the series eg Eric in lycra with Sookie finding out about the murder of Lafayette. Also more hints of the underhanded dealings of Bill and how he really betrays Sookie. Dont blame her for beeing really upset with him and looking for the comfort of friends eg Sam.
I too am disappointed that Bubba is not in the series. That was one of the funniest ideas in the book and would really translate well considering he saves Sookie several times.
i am looking forward to Eric losing his memory and getting together with Sookie considering that she has given Bill the boot after finding out about his lies and knowing there is still more to come. I hope AB includes this and the werewolf/witch war before revealing any more of Sookies heritage. I would like to see how Sookie deals with Debbie.

Debra

Okay, everyone has an opinion and sees things in a different light. I love all ten books. I also love the HBO series of TrueBlood. It is like two different stories with most of the same characters. I am very intrigued with both of them. I don’t think Bill actually had a choice when it come to lying to Sookie. The Vampiers, themselves, don’t have a choice when it comes to free will, as humans do. None of the lying seemed to be on his part, it has been of someone elses’ having power(per-say)over him. Vampiers have to do as they are commanded by those who have authority over them, or suffer the consequences. Can you imagine wanting to tell someone you love so deeply, something you would suffer dier consequences from if you were to do so? You have to look and think deeply when reading or watching the show. And, I agree that Sookie isn’t exactly true to her man.(whoever it may be at the time) She is quick to change her feelings from one to another. Like all the rest, she makes mistakes, and then some. I still love the stories. It is a great escape from reality.

Chelsea

I don’t think that Alyssa Milano or Shannen Doherty are good for the role, they are too well known as witches and as actresses it would not be beneficial for them. Not to mention they have kind of dropped off the raidar.
Plus I think A Ball would want a not too well known actress. He seems to like them. How about Eliza Dushku, we haven’t seen her in while. Plus she is pretty but not in the Southern Belle kind of way so not to much competition for Anna Paquin.

pbt

I always felt that Ashley lead Scarlett on somewhat by being indecisive. While Bill has just plain lied about his true mission and some other things too in Bon Temps. Well we haven’t been completely been told but I suspect the finale will be filling us in some more.

Shera

I like the idea of Alyssa Milano or even Shannen Doherty , but I think Lucy Lawless would also do great in that role.

jackie

I like your “Gone with the Wind” analogy!!! It is my all time favorite book and I can see Eric as Sookie’s Rhett. However, Ashley did not love Scarlett and I think Bill loves Sookie.

Chelsea

Oh yes! one of my huge disapointments with the show was the lack of a Bubba! I love him! he is so sweet and dumb!
But now i think about it, how would A Ball find an actor…i mean Bubba is pretty unique! It would be pretty hard to find someone as…um…well Bubba…

Chelsea

Yeah definately think that A Ball should keep the whole Eric/Sookie pairing!! it has got to be the best CH book in the series!
Only problem is, that if he does keep it, he has gone so far off the book story line that how is he going to fit Bill in the equation, I mean there is no computer data base so no reason for him to leave the country.
All i know is, that if he does decide to have the witch war, i hope he doesnt kill off chow, i kinda like him, in a he’s-kinda-creepy-and-would-not-want-to-meet-him-in-an-ally-but-still-kinda-amusing kind of way….anyone get it?

pbt

I kind have always equated True Blood with the classic Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.

Bill and Sookie are Ashley and Scarlett. Scarlett always pining for her Ashley. Enter Rhett with his dashing good looks and debonair attitude of course that would be Eric Northman.

Scarlett has her many “marriages” along the way but its Rhett who was always there to take care of her. Even in the end as Scarlett grasps desperately to her image of true love with Ashley its Rhett who truly loves Scarlett.

I could very well see this happening on True Blood to a certain extent. Sookie desperately seeking out her Bill Compton and losing her Eric. But only after she truly realizes what Eric has done and meant to her. 🙂

monesue

OMG, I desperately want to see Eric lose his memory and be loved up with Sookie! It’s a great 4th book. I know TB doesn’t follow the books exactly but it appears to get the main plot from CH’s books so I would be disappointed to miss out on getting to see this book on screen!

themuffingirl2

Megan Fox. Really? How overrated.
I would definitely go with Jodi Lyn O’Keefe.
She’s already been on Charmed so you know she can do the whole witch ordeal, plus she fits the description and she’s pretty. 🙂
BUT, I don’t like seeing well known actresses/actors on TV shows. I’d like for him to get another actress that isn’t too popular or hasn’t been in too many movies/shows. It’ll help her carreer and his in my eyes.

Jana

Did you just call Bill a vampire with integrity? LOL He LIED to Sookie.

Ollie Chong aka AdoreBill

What you may think as sappy others can see the romance and passion. Their love is reminiscent of many classics such as Romeo and Juliet and Jane Austen novels. Everyone has a different view of what romance and love should be, I’m just sorry to hear that you cannot see what many others do, but this storyline is very common in the classics and in modern literature and film.

Courtney

I’m sorry, I’ve read the book series, and avidly watched the Tv series, but I do NOT see what is sacred about Bill/Sookie’s relationship. He lied to her from the very beginning. Their love reminds me of puppy dogs, sappy. Sookie deserves an honest man who truly devotes himself to her, and I don’t believe Bill can do that for her.

Anyway, back to the original post, I believe Jodi Lyn O’Keefe would make an alright Hallow. I haven’t really thought about it yet, but I’m sure A. Ball will do fine in finding someone to play Hallow.

Stacy

There are 10 books not 9.

Sean

I think Tricia Helfer will make a good Hallow. She always plays the bad guy on tv shows.

Antonio el hombre lobo

First of all,Bill is Not a Man..He is a Vampire..A Supernatural creature. Vampires are bloodthirsty, vicious and vindictive. I know that Bill is trying to “mainstream” and re-connect with his lost humanity..But the thing is Lorena took his human life away!
I’m Not saying that he has No conscience or residual emotions left to deal with but he Is a Vampire!

BTW there is Also Team Sam…It may be a smaller contingent but For Many Sam Merlotte(Mickens) is Their Favorite!

As for a couple being meant for each other? I feel its Much More meaningful and stirring when a couple Cannot find a way to be together and make it work! JMHO
Catherine & Vincent, Rose & Jack from Titanic….Romeo & Juliet!
Count dracula & Mina Harker

One thing which I’ve Always admired the show for is its gritty sense of harsh and polarizing “reality” of the Vampire world.
Vampires are primal and viscious. Werewolves are fierce and crude not to mention unruly…that was certainly apparent in Cooter and Debbie Pelt!

Saucy Moffit

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree: there is team Bill, team Eric, and now Team Alcide… all excellent, but for all of us who have been there since Season 1, saw the love story unfold for Bill and Sookie.
Even in the books, Bill always adores Sookie. She is the one who has relationships with others. I guess you can’t have a book series (9 books, so far) with the same thing going on.
I love a man who loves his woman with his whole heart. We know from a line in one of the books, that he says: I will kill for her and I will die for her.
Wow! it melts this heart, I’ll tell you.

Ollie Chong aka AdoreBill

Sorry Bill’s love for Sookie is not false and even Alan Ball said they are soulmates and their love for each other is genuine. Read the books but this is True Blood so lets see what happens on the show. We don’t know what is going to happen since the details are is very much different from the book series so to say he uses Sookie is false as that has not bee seen in the show (BTW read the books didn’t think he used her in the books either).

Shonna

Please leave the love story between Sookie and Bill sacred and whole! It was the worst part of the books and reason I stopped reading them and now continue to love True Blood! There is so much power and energy between Sookie and Bill and the one constant in the show. Bill is a vampire with integrity and the only one worty of Sookie’s heart.

Alexa

Maybe, the “True Blood Show” is different of the Charlaine Harris book’s…but it will be a good things that the action on the tv show will not completely different (because his inspired by the book’s story) In the book Sookie doesn’t have just Bill as a boyfriend, she have a “love story” with others man to…I really want to see that…and for now,I’m “overdosed” by Bill…(I’m sorry for my English, I’m a french speaker…But I think you’ll understand my point…)

Saucy Moffit

Bill’s big mistake was not telling Sookie early on. I do believe he fell in total love with her very quickly, but still, withholding the truth is always a mistake.
My question is: Why did the Queen throw Bill to the wolves (figuratively)…she let him go to trial with the magister, and almost get silvered? Several times, she seemed to absolutely not like him and had no regard for his well-being. Why; especially if she needed that information from him.

Tanya

I think Megan Fox would make a perfect “Hallow”.

Isis Nocturne

I understand where you’re coming from, sweetheart, but this is True Blood and not the books. They’re completely different things.

sweetheart28607

i can see how people would think that bill and sookie should stay together since they started off together but ive read the books and ive seen the episodes and in the books bill really does use sookie at the queens request the whole reason that he is even in bon temps is because sophie ann sent him to see what sookie was about and to see how she could use sookie to her benefit so while sookie is used by different people bill definitely can not be left out of that because he uses her as much as the rest of them the only difference is is that sookie knows what she is getting with everybody else with bill he hides it behind a false facade of love

Nikki D

Hi everyone,

I have just returned from my holiday and watched episode 9 of season 3…OMFG..How amazing! When Russel jumps into the News Reporters Broadcast and rips out his spine!!

I loved all the books and have read them many times but this is why I love true blood, as AB still manages to shock!!

I can’t wait to see what he does with season 4. I agree with Tasha, Bring on the Sookie/Eric team…Boo to any more dream sequences.

Debra

I would love to see the fight scene from book 4 come to life on screen. Also, is that anyone else who misses Bubba?

Ollie Chong aka AdoreBill

Bravo Saucy! I have to say on a personal point I feel the exact same way and that I too was drawn to the love story between Bill and Sookie. I agree Sookie does make him feel complete and he probably needs her more then any of the other characters do. 🙂

Saucy Moffit

I think a lesser known actress will be selected for this role. Anna is THE STAR…AB has done an unbelievable job of selecting PERFECT people for all of these characters. I am stunned by these actors and actresses.
The newest one was the guy who played Franklin. I did not like his character at all, but I could appreciate what a terrific and interesting actor he was. Too bad he was so awful.
Hadley is wonderful, the King’s love interest (guy) was terrific, Godric was fantastic (so interesting) and of course, Sookie’s grandmother.
I am sure there are women who are equally as good, but not as well known, as the suggested actresses so far.
I just don’t think they’ll try and top Sookie, and I don’t think they SHOULD.
Loooooving this series. Season 3 is terrific.

Antonio el hombre lobo

I don’t think that either Ms. Milano Or Ms. Doherty would be good for that role. as for SMG? Hmm don’t know. Maybe Someone that fans are passionate about? After All,Wasnt the fans who got together and banded up to support Joe M. to get an audition for Alcide Herveaux?? I’m Glad They Did Joe is Incredible!
Maybe Just Maybe they can get Jamie-Lynn Siegler (Meadow of Soprano fame) to audition for the part? maybe Megan Fox??
I dont know at This point.

Saucy Moffit

I see that there are alot of Eric fans out there. I can certainly appreciate that he is good looking, but what hooked us from the start was the Sookie/Bill love story. The first three books were all about Bill, and then as the series goes on, I saw Sookie as a bit of a tart. She would go from Bill to Sam in a minute, then a werewolf, and then Eric…she’s the one who is not really loyal to any “man”. The other characters don’t really “need Sookie” in quite the way that Bill does. She makes him “life” complete. He needs her to feel whole and human. To me, this is lovely. The “others” can find this anywhere else.
I love this series, but I LOVE the love story, too.

tasha

I agree please Alan follow through with the theme of the book it is my favourite of the series! The fans want to see some Eric/Sookie romance and not in any other dream sequences… I think another one will drive me mad!!

melissa

I think either Alyssa Milano or even Shannen Doherty or what about SMG who used to play Buffy on Buffy the Vampire . SMG can be a bitch and does look good as a bruenette.lol!

~ Caitlin

****Spoiler****

Wow I can’t believe I forgot Hallow was a werewolf too. I don’t know what I was thinking. Disregard my last post.

~ Caitlin

I read the 4th book but I don’t remember a were- sorceress. It wasn’t Maria Star was it? What about Yvetta? I still think she might be a witch. I hope we see amnesia Eric.

lee

Please Mr Ball follow through with the main theme of Sookie & Eric as in Dead to the World! It will make or break it and this season is my most anticipated!!!!!
