True Blood Sweeps CampBlood Horror Poll

True Blood Comes Out on Top

true blood logoIt looks like True Blood is making an impact on the minds of horror fans!

CampBlood.org, a site dedicated to all things in horror entertainment conducted a reader poll, highlighting the best and worst in horror entertainment this year. And in the TV categories – HBO‘s vampire drama came out on top of the best categories:

Best Horror TV Show of the Year – True Blood got a whopping 52% of the vote.

Horror Hunk of the YearJoe Manganiello as Alcide barely scraped by runner up and fellow cast-mate Alexander Skarsgård. But really, that’s just a win-win.

Horror Queer of the Year – King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington. And he beat out the actor who plays him, Denis O’Hare.

Gross-Out Moment of the YearBill (Stephen Moyer) & Lorena’s (Mariana Klaveno) Sex Scene. That head-turning moment (haha…) beat out a scene from the terrifying scene from the film The Human Centipede.

Most Memorable Horror Moment of the Year – Russell Edgington’s Spine Ripping Newscast. That was a stunning moment. It beat out the Bill & Lorena sex scene by quite a bit.

Check out the blog to relive some of those awesome moments. And here’s hoping season 4 gives us just as many memorable scenes and characters.

Creator Alan Ball and True Blood Cast Members Talk About Season 4

Talk of Season 4 is in the Air

Joe Manganiello and Anna Paquin as Alcide and SookieThe website Digital Spy recently gathered together several articles featuring creator Alan Ball and cast members Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) and Rutina Wesley (Tara Thorton) discussing season 4. While none of them are specific about things happening in season 4,  there is quite a bit of hint dropping!

Alan Ball told TV Line he suspects that Alcide Herveaux (Joe Manganiello) has already fallen for our heroine Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin). However, he maintains that even if Sookie had mutual feelings for him, they would have quite a bit to overcome as a couple.  But anything is possible, especially considering the state of Sookie’s love life at the end of last season.

A Dark and Crazy Season

Stephen MoyerCast member Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) recently hinted to E! Online that there will be a new dark presence in season 4 originated by Denis O’Hare (Russell Edgington) in Season 3:

“We have a new presence that will be a new kind of spectre that represents darkness.  We had the wonderful Denis O’Hare as the king of Mississippi last year who is gone at the end of season 3, so we got something else coming in to replace that darkness, which is going to be really interesting, I think, this whole new topic we have not covered.”

I hope Denis O’Hare comes back as Russell because they left the story line open and Denis himself has hinted that he might be back this season.

Rutina WesleyRutina Wesley (Tara Thornton) recently spoke to Access Hollywood and has described season 4 as crazy and exciting. She also said that the new season will bring changes for Tara. She hopes that the character will gain power and strength. At the end of season three Tara actually left Bon Temps. So does that mean Tara comes back? Rutina didn’t answer that inquiry but she did say:

“That is the big question. I can’t tell you that. I love my job too much”

So Truebies, what do you think about the teasers Alan, Stephen, and Rutina gave us? Does it make you hopeful for the new season? Tell us in the comments section!

Will Season Four Pave the Road to the Return of Russell Edgington?

True Blood Season 4 Spoilers and Speculation:

Denis O'Hare as Russell Edgington in Season 3 True Blood (HBO,inc.)

Season 4 of True Blood premieres June 12, 2011– just 5 short months from now. Fans (including me!) are waiting on pins and needles to see what’s going to happen next to our favorite characters and to finally get answers to some looming questions that came up at the end of season 3.

Some of the questions fans hope to find answers to include:

  • What’s in store for vampire Bill Compton(Stephen Moyer) as he faces off with the much-more-powerful Vampire Queen of Mississippi (Evan Rachel Wood)?  Also, will there ever be a Sookie and Bill relationship again?
  • After taking sewing shears to her lovely locks, where did Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley) and her cool-looking convertible go–and is she coming back or will she be on an extended road trip?
  • Has Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), who recently discovered she is part-faery, actually gone to the land of the Fae and will she return to what must seem a very cold ‘real’ world?

Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare) the Vampire King Of Mississippi, is yet another True Blood character favorite that fans want to know about. Russell was encased in concrete, gangland style, by Bill Compton with an assist from Eric Northman, at the end of season 3.  Eric was buried ‘alive’ under a huge amount of cement by Bill as well, seemingly forever to be encased in the hardened concrete but as her maker, he was able to summon Pam (Kristen Bauer van Straten) to help him. I wonder if she had to ruin another pair of pumps?

The first thought that crossed my mine was it is easy to picture Russell getting out with the help of an unknown source–perhaps Eric. I think it was Eric after he himself was released from the concrete. It is no secret Russell has caused lots of craziness for the main characters for husband Talbot’s killing so he could be back to cause more drama for everyone at some as yet unknown point.

It seems like a great idea that Alan Ball and True Blood‘s talented writing team kept the storyline open so that Russell may show back up sometime after the season premiere. Rumours are swirling that Denis O’Hare will indeed return as the ruthless Russell with his plotline intertwined with a filmmaker trying to get vampire attacks on camera and put them on the internet. Being a fan I can’t wait till season 4, even though June seems a long time from now.

Evan Rachel Wood Discusses True Blood Fight Scene at Winter TCA Press Conference

A Vampire Grudge Match

Evan Rachel Wood Evan Rachel Wood may be coming back to HBO in March to play Vida in Mildred Pierce, but she couldn’t escape this year’s TCA Winter Press Conference without talking about True Blood. The actress who plays the devious and deceptive Sophie Anne Leclerq, vampire queen of Louisiana was last seen in the season 3 finale about to go head to head with Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton).

Access Hollywood reports that Wood has already shot one episode of our favorite vampire series which included shooting with Moyer. As fans may recall, the final scene between the two vampires last season saw them both take to the air with fangs bared, prepared to duke it out. While we will have to wait until June to see who wins this so called “epic” duel, Sophie Anne has over 300 years on Bill.

We all know Sophie Anne has quite a bit more to worry about than just a fight with Bill.  At the close of season three the Queen was still in the business of selling vampire blood, also known as “V”. Wood was not allowed to discuss any details related to the 4th season. It is believed that Sophie Anne will have a reversal of fortunes, so to speak. Evan supports this belief saying:

“I think she’ll get what she deserves.”

Dynamics on the Set

With all of the high stakes drama we Truebies were given last season, one can’t help but wonder what the atmosphere is like on set. Shooting for the series officially began a little over a month ago after a five month hiatus. When asked about what it was like being back to work, the actress told reporters:

“It’s been great. It’s one of the funniest sets I’ve worked on… [There’s]’s just always something crazy [happening].”

It is nice to know that in the midst of all the blood, fangs, and drama on screen, the mood on set is so light! Season four begins June 12…mark your new 2011 calendars Truebies! And be sure to watch Evan Rachel Wood in Mildred Piece coming this March to HBO!

Top 10 Vampires for 2010 According to Betty

Hot Blooded

Betty Confidential’s website has released the “Hottest Vampires for 2010” and True Blood made the list!

Who Made the List?

True Blood did very well on the Top 10 list. In the ninth position is the hot and pouty Queen Sophie Anne, played by Evan Rachel Wood. She made a big apprearance during the last season of True Blood as the plot thickened between herself and the other vampires in Bon Temps.

Next on the list representing True Blood was Eric Northman in the sixth spot! The vampire sheriff of Area 5, played by Alexander Skarsgard, has been front and center for many True Blood fans since Season 1.

Top Five

From positions 5 to 3, the vampires mentioned all belong to one group; the Twilight series. However, the person in the #2 spot is someone that Anna Paquin will have to agree is her favorite vampire. Bill Compton, played by Stephan Moyer, topped the list second only to Robert Pattison, who plays the teen obsessed Edward Cullen from Twilight.

This list is not surpising and has some awesome actors and actresses, there are a few though that I thought should have made the list. I am a big fan of Pam (Kristin Bauer), Eric’s sidekick at Fangtasia and also I thought Russell Edgington should have made a “royal” entrance to True Blood as well and would have definately topped my top 10 list. Who else do you think should have been in the Top 10?

Bungled Bunny

Sookie, you don’t have to do anything. Honestly, Carrie-Ann just moved here.”

Sam Merlotte, I am ashamed of you! We may not be a big town but we sure as heck know what southern hospitality is. Gran taught me better than that and you know it!”

Sookie was miffed at Sam. She expected more from him, a lot more. Carrie-Ann was a new waitress at Merlotte’s. She had moved from Kentucky because her soon-to-be husband was gonna be working a construction project on the outskirts of town. She’d been waitressing for a little over 6 weeks now, and at Merlotte’s that qualified you for a medal! Sookie was trying to plan her bachelorette party, but unfortunately, although Gran had taught her a great many things, the art of planning a bachelorette party was not one of those things.

Sookie was deep in thought when Bill walked in.

“What’s wrong Sookie?” Bill asked slightly alarmed, as concern crossed his face.

As always, the silence that accompanied Bill’s presence was a welcome relief.

“Well, I told our new waitress, Carrie-Ann, that I would plan a bachelorette party for her and I don’t have the foggiest idea what the heck I’m doing!”

Bill ducked his head, obviously attempting to hide a smile.

“Sookie, I will have to check my southern charms manual again, but I don’t remember seeing anything about bachelorette parties. I will be happy to assist you but I’m afraid my own skills are somewhat lacking.”

Sookie sighed. “Oh, I know. Thanks anyway.”

“I stopped by to ask if you would mind accompanying me to see Eric tomorrow. He has yet another favor to ask of us…and by us I mean you.”

Sookie looked up at him. She really didn’t want to do Eric Northman anymore favors, but it was a price she paid. As soon as that thought left her head, she had an epiphany.

“Bill! Eric! He must know all about parties and planning! Yes, I will go with you tomorrow. Come by here just after sunset.”

Sookie walked off happier than she had been all day. Bill frowned as he turned to leave Merlotte’s. He hated how excited she was. He knew in his head that it wasn’t really due to seeing Eric, she was just hopeful that he might be able to help her, but still, to him, excited was excited. Bill was afraid that if Eric sensed her need for his assistance, he might be able to talk her into more than was good for her. Sighing, Bill left the bar and headed home.

The next evening just after sunset, Sookie and Bill pulled up outside Fangtasia. Pam was working the door, looking appropriately stunning and scary all at the same time.

“Well, well, well! We haven’t had the pleasure of your company for a while. What brings you to our humble establishment?” Pam looked from Sookie to Bill with that certain look; one could never tell what her intentions were.
Bill answered, “Pam, we were summoned by Eric. But of course, you already knew that.”

“Yes, well, he didn’t exactly tell me what he wanted with you.” Dismissing Bill, she turned her attention to Sookie, “And how are you this evening?”

“Oh, I’m great, Pam. And hey, when we get done can I talk to you for a second? I have something I’m planning and I need your help.”

“Ooo, I’m enthralled,” Pam said with her usual charming sarcasm.

Bill and Sookie entered the bar and headed back to Eric’s office. The door was cracked and Eric was sitting at his desk. As usual, Sookie was struck by his presence. He seemed to fill the room with his authority. He looked up as the two entered.

“Bill, thanks for coming. Although I would have preferred it two days ago,” he said, with a hint of warning in his tone.

“Eric, remember I’m not the only one here and Sookie has priorities. She doesn’t have to jump at your beck and call.”

“She doesn’t. But you do,” Eric said menacingly. The two glowered at each other a second longer before Sookie jumped in.

“Oh for heaven’s sake, Eric! Bill said you needed my help or a favor or something. So what is it?”

Eric stood up and walked around the desk.

“Well as I said, if you had been here two days ago, I would have needed you to listen in on someone. However, let’s just say, there is no longer a need for those particular services.”

Sookie was about to lose her temper when she remembered she needed a favor as well. Covering her anger quickly, she plastered on her brightest smile.

“Oh well. No harm taking a trip over here. It has been quite a while since I’ve seen you.”

Eric crossed his arms over his chest and grinned, which in Eric terms meant that something of great hilarity had just struck him.

“I take it you need something from me?”

“Why would you say that?” Sookie asked as innocently as she could.

“Because you suck at sucking up. Take it from someone who sucks for a living.”

Sookie laughed slightly. Sometimes it bothered her that Eric seemed to be able to read her so easily.

“Well, I’m supposed to be planning a bachelorette party for someone and I have no idea how to do it. I was hoping that you might be able to help me?”

“And why should I know about such things?”

“Well, I just figured since you owned a bar, you might have some idea about parties.”

Eric thought for a second. He knew nothing about what she was asking, however, having Sookie indebted to him would always be of benefit. Surely, this was something he could have Pam take care of.

Eric seemed to be thinking it over and Sookie was hopeful. She had almost forgotten Bill standing there with her. She looked up at him and smiled, he returned it with a weak smile of his own.

“Yes, I will help you. When is the event supposed to take place?”

“On Saturday. We were planning to do it up at Merlotte’s after the bar closed.”

“Fine, I will see what we can come up with. Will that work?”

Sookie was actually surprised he asked her, “Yeah of course that will work. Thanks Eric.”

“Good. Pam,” Eric called into the hallway, “Come in here for a second.”

Pam sauntered into the office in her usual bored fashion.

“Sookie has asked me for a favor and I will need your assistance.”

Pam looked from Eric to Sookie and seemed about to protest but clamped her mouth shut and gave a barely perceptible nod as a knowing look passed between the two.

“Sookie, one of us will be in touch in a day or two.”

“Great! Thanks…ah, to both of you.” Sookie said with a nervous glance in Pam’s direction.

Bill and Sookie said their goodbyes and headed back to Bon Temps.

Over the next few days Sookie heard from Eric, perhaps a little more than she needed, but she wouldn’t complain since he was saving her bacon on this one. He’d assured her that Pam would be over the evening of the party and had the entertainment covered. Sookie’s face flamed as she recalled what he said just before hanging up. The nerve of that vamp! Of course, she wouldn’t be repeating that part of their conversation to anyone.

Friday evening arrived. Sookie and Arlene were decorating the bar with the decorations that Eric had sent over.

“Wow, Sookie! You really went all out on this stuff. It looks amazing!” Arlene said.

“Yeah, I know! Pam and Eric really helped me out on this one.” Sookie was thrilled with the decorations; everything was so very bright and sparkly. It looked like someone had thrown diamonds all over Merlotte’s. Sookie could only imagine that this might be what a Fairy land would resemble.

Jessica walked into the bar looking happier than Sookie had seen her in a long time. Arlene looked her way but kept her mouth shut and kept hanging decorations.

“I’m so excited, Sookie! I never got to go to any kind of wedding shower and I certainly never went to a bachelorette party. Maybe I can get some ideas if anything ever happens with me and Hoyt,” she said as she looked at the bar dreamily.

“Well, make sure and ask Eric, he is the one who helped me out. Pam too, she’s also coming by to give us a hand at the party.”

“Pam! Really? Wow, I can only imagine what she will come up with!”

“Hey!” said Arlene from atop the ladder where she was hanging some more lights. “What are we doing for entertainment?”

“Eric said Pam will take care of it. She left me a message that she had everything taken care of but she was really secretive about it. She sounded like she actually wanted to make it a surprise!” Sookie had to admit that she wasn’t too sure about that part because Pam was really not one to cater to humans, to say the very least.

The ladies finished decorating the back area of the bar. Merlotte’s would be open tomorrow but not the back area. It was reserved for the party.

Everyone headed home with calls of see you tomorrow.

The day of the party arrived. Sookie got off work early and went home to change. She headed back up to Merlotte’s later in the day to finish up and get everything ready. Arlene was already there helping Lafayette get the food together. Terry was helping Sam stock the bar so the ladies wouldn’t want for anything. The boys took off just as Jessica arrived, and the guests started filing in not long after that. Pam had yet to show up and Sookie began to worry.

“Sookie! You totally outdid yourself! I don’t even know what to say,” Carrie-Ann gushed. She was staring at the sparkling room in awe. There was a small table that was now covered with presents. Everyone was enjoying the food and drinks, the wine was flowing freely. Jessica had a True Blood and Carrie-Ann seemed honored to have a vampire at her bachelorette party.

“Someone told me you had some vampires helping you plan this! I can’t wait to see what the entertainment will be.”

“Me neither,” Sookie muttered under her breath. At that moment there was a gasp at the same time the front door closed. Sookie turned to see everyone staring at the entrance.

“Oh my god!” someone muttered from the back.

There stood Pam pulling a ridiculously large fake cake and dressed head to toe in a stripper bunny costume.

Sookie hurried toward Pam, taking a second to acknowledge that she looked damn good decked out in her bunny gear.

“Pam! What in the world are you doing?” she asked in a hushed whisper.

“What does it look like I’m doing? The human Eric hired to perform canceled last night so I Googled what was required for a party like this. It seems ridiculously easy; I could do it in my sleep.”

Sookie’s mind raced. What was she going to tell her? She couldn’t believe that Pam was actually looking at her like SHE was the crazy one.

“Listen, Cupcake. Just point me to someplace to wait till it’s my time to perform.”

“Um, Pam, what exactly did you look up on the computer?”

Pam looked at Sookie like she was beyond dense. “Why, Bachelor party entertainment, of course. And believe me; I’m toning it down because there is no way I will be giving lap dances to the local yokels here tonight.”

Sookie began turning red on Pam’s behalf.

“Pam, this is a bachelorette party. Bachelor parties have female strippers or dancers. Bachelorette parties have male strippers or dancers.”

Realization slowly dawned on Pam’s face and she looked as if she were bound to the spot by thick silver chains. Pam was naturally pale but Sookie could swear she watched the last vestiges of blood drain from her beautiful face.

By this time the other ladies in the room were trying extremely hard not to laugh. Everyone turned and started to busy themselves with something ever-so interesting on the other side of the bar. Sookie was grateful that they were obviously giving Pam space to make a dignified exit. She was shoving at the large cake and muttering when the door behind it opened and the cake came to a sudden halt, refusing to budge an inch.

Pam fairly snarled, “You’ve got two seconds to move your puny ass before I move it for you.”

“As much as I relish the thought of you attempting to move my puny ass, I highly doubt that you would succeed.” Eric’s voice was unmistakable coming from behind the wall sized cake.

Pam let out a strangled groan as Eric pushed the cake to the side and stood there gape-mouthed, alongside Bill Compton.
The two vampires looked stunned and amazed, which for two vampires whose natural state ran between serious and brooding, was impressive indeed.

“Pam…” Eric began, but couldn’t finish as his eyes traveled down the length of Pam’s outfit and then back up.

Bill on the other hand, didn’t even attempt to hide his laughter at Pam’s discomfiture. He laughed so long and so hard that even matching glares from both Sookie and Eric couldn’t stop him. In fact, Eric’s attempted stoicism faltered in the face of Bill’s total and complete breakdown and they both leaned into one another as laughter shook their bodies. Sookie wasn’t sure they would ever stop and was struggling to keep her own laughter in check. She saw the look on Pam’s face and desperately wanted to try and help her.

“What are you two doing here? This is a girl’s party!” Sookie tried to sound authoritative, but failed due to the bubble of laughter that was slowly forcing its way up and out.

Bill was still laughing but was the first to compose himself enough to speak. “I came to give Jessica a message but it can wait.” Still shaking with laughter, he took one last look at Pam and headed for the door. Just before exiting the bar he pulled something from his pocket and turned, “Say Cheeeeese.” He quickly snapped a picture with his cell phone then dashed out the door. No trace of him, except his laughter echoing behind.

Before Eric could even say anything to Sookie or Pam, Pam rounded on him.

“Your entertainment canceled. I knew you wouldn’t want anything to ruin this for your little pet here,” she jabbed a finger in Sookie’s direction. “You know, you weren’t very clear in your instructions!”

“Honestly, Pam,” Eric struggled for a decent breath as he swiped at the bloody tears that kept seeping from the corners of his eyes. “For the first time in over a thousand years, you have rendered me speechless. I…am…at…a…loss.” Eric was still laughing so hard that Sookie could barely understand him. “I shall enjoy this treat for centuries!”

Without a single word Pam gathered herself up to her full, impressive height, tossed a deadly look towards Eric, then Sookie and then the party goers and walked out of Merlotte’s with her head held high.

Eric was still wiping bloody tears as he turned to follow Pam out the door.

“Excuse me!” a voice called from the back of the party.

Sookie and Eric turned to see Carrie-Ann walking forward.

“We seem to be short some entertainment. I don’t suppose YOU could fill in?”

“I’m flattered. However after what we’ve just witnessed, I’m afraid I’d be a disappointment.” he said, breaking into another fit of laughter as he left the bar.

True Blood’s Stephen Moyer Feared Injury Would End His Career

Stephen Moyer as Bill ComptonVampire Bill Compton might not always like what he is but at least he has the ability to heal quickly. His human portrayer, actor Stephen Moyer, is not so lucky. True Blood fans surfing the web in recent weeks may have seen the actor in photos sporting some new footwear. A new fashion craze perhaps? Not quite.

Caution: Life Ahead

Moyer has had to wear a medical boot on his foot due to an ankle injury he suffered. Contrary to popular belief, acting can be a hazardous profession especially on television and film sets where time is tight, there is heavy equipment abound, and wires that run everywhere.

But also hazardous to humans is something that is referred to as life. Moyer found that out first hand after stepping off a curb and injuring his ankle. The injury occurred while the actor was on his honeymoon in Italy with his wife and co-star, Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse). As if having to live with that memory isn’t enough, Moyer expressed to Britain’s Marie Claire that he thought it might end his career:

“It was scary because you think, ‘everything’s going to stop, and I won’t be able to earn a living.”

No More Bill?

To most of us an ankle injury is a painful temporary annoyance at best and wouldn’t stop us from working. But television is another story. While we have witnessed truly amazing things on True Blood, the infamous Bill and Lorena head-twisting sex scene comes to mind, an ankle injury would be too human for a vampire to hide. A limp really would ruin that nice speeding effect the vampires are given on the show.

So in order to make sure actors stay in tip-top shape, shows such as True Blood and others try to safeguard their cast legally. Stephen Moyer confirms this saying:

“If you’re doing an acting job you have to sign a contract to say you won’t ski, ride horses or bungee jump in case you injure yourself, but I was just stepping off a curb.”

As wonderful as we know our True Blood cast is it is easy to forget that they are all still human. But we’re glad Stephen is still our Bill. No one can say “Sookie Stackhouse” quite like him.  We’ll be seeing more of Bill Compton soon enough.

Season four of True Blood began filming on Monday in Los Angeles.

Zap2It Gives Respect to TV’s Veteran Characters

True Blood’s Wonderful Veterans

In honor of our veterans, fans not only celebrate the soldiers in their lives but the ones on TV. True Blood joined the festivities in a list of top veterans on television, created by zap2it.com. On the list were characters like Seeley Booth from Bones, Teddy Altman and Owen Hunt from Grey’s Anatomy, Andy Botwin from Weeds, and Kip ‘Half Sack’ Epps from Sons of Anarchy.

Also on the list was our favorite southern gentleman and Bon Temps resident vampire, Bill Compton, played by the dynamic Stephen Moyer. Before becoming Lorena‘s prey, Bill was fighting for the South in the War of Northern Aggression. It was on his way home that he fell victim to Lorena and became a vampire, which isn’t all too bad given that he met and fell in love with Sookie Stackhouse as an undead man.

Another True Blood character who made the list is Iraqi vet Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe). Though suffering from PTSD, Terry has managed not only to protect Bon Temps, but also become a fan favorite, with his sweet disposition and honesty. And even though Arlene’s baby may not be his, he loves her enough to take care of her and her kids.

Terry’s not only the guy you want in the trenches with you, he’s the guy you want with you all the time. Season 3 may have dealt him some hardships, but he’s stood his ground and overcome them. Will he be able to keep all his promises in Season 4, especially with the mess Arlene seems to be already getting into?

While this list is fun, it also reminds us of the wonderful soldiers who have put their life on the line to protect America. Let’s get out their Truebies and show our veterans a fangtastic time.

Stephen Moyer’s Less Than Bloody Real Life

Stephen Moyer Outside of Work on True Blood

After the season finale of True Blood’s 3rd season, fans were treated to controversial, but sexy, Rolling Stone cover where Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard posed bloody and nude, their arms and legs as well as blood splatter covering their x-rated parts. From this cover, fans may assume that actors live a crazy and wild life, but Stephen Moyer confesses it’s quite the opposite.

In reality Stephen, who plays southern vampire and Sookie’s love interest Bill Compton, says his life with new wife Anna Paquin, who plays the blond telepath Sookie Stackhouse, is quiet and normal; in fact he believes they’re boring homebodies. For a living they act on a popular HBO series and are invited to the most exclusive parties, but their favorite date night activity is lounging around with their pets. At the L.A. Philharmonic Opening Night gala he noted,

“Really, sitting in, playing with the dogs and doing the normal stuff at home, truthfully”

Though he was sans Anna at the event, he did have her in mind; he said married life was awesome. Some time apart seems to make Stephen appreciate the woman in his life. However when asked what Anna’s sexiest quality was, he misheard and thought he was being asked what his sexiest attribute was to which he replied jokingly,

“I give…no, I can’t!”

Fans can all agree that unlike his brooding vampire counterpart, Stephen is a happy and easy going guy. Who can blame him when he gets to share his life with the beautiful Anna Paquin.

Forbitten Love — Discoveries

Love can be fleeting as a rainstorm, span the length of a man’s life or be as eternal as time itself. It can be so fiery that it consumes your body and soul or live as a warm ember within your beating or silent heart. It can be expressed in words, glances, the timber of your voice, tender gestures, gifts and sacrifices.  But it’s never so succulent and desperate as when it’s Forbitten Love…

It’s a rainy, hot and muggy night, the air smells of wet earth while Bill slowly wends his way through the cemetery that lies between his and Sookie’s house. Before being turned, Bill had enjoyed walking in the rain, but like so many things since, this too has lost some of its romanticism and relaxation.

Suddenly, Bill spots Hoyt Fortenberry leaving a crypt near the back of the cemetery then hurry to his truck before speeding away. He wonders what the love sick, young fool was up to. He really doesn’t hold out much hope for a relationship between Jessica and the young man. After all, it’s much more likely that Jessica will drain him during a necking session than it is a newly turned vampire being able to control her natural instincts. As a matter of fact, Bill figured this wasn’t going to amount to anything other than the baby vamp learning a cruel lesson and possibly one dead road-crew worker.

He has to admit however, he might be softening on the matter of their relationship since Jessica seems calmer and more mature with Hoyt in her life. Her attitude lately was definitely an improvement over the petulant child he had been saddled with after being forced to create her.

Bill slips inside the small dank building and searches around the musty crypt before spotting a neatly folded piece of paper peeking out of an urn. After pulling it from it’s hiding spot he drops it suddenly, startled as a spider skitters across the back of his hand. Bill lets out a few curse words then looks around embarrassed that he, a century old vampire, was just scared by a spider. Ugh.
Muttering, Bill reaches down and retrieves the paper then unfolds it and begins to read:

My Dearest Jessica,
I hope by now you got my message that I’ve left this letter here for you. I’m not sure if Vampire Bill will allow me to come to your house. I’m not so sure how to do a lot of stuff around vampires. So for now, I‘ll just leave my letters for you here and hope you‘ll leave some for me too.

Jessica, there are so many things I’d like to tell you but I guess the best thing to do is to just start at the beginning.

Meeting you in Merlotte’s the other night was the greatest thing that ever happen to me in my life. Before you walked in that door you know I was just thinking, “How come you never meet any nice girls, Hoyt?”

Then BAM, like a bolt of lightning, the sight of you hit me and froze me to the spot. When I watched you walk to the table next to mine in that beautiful yellow sundress, it felt like I was standing in a pure ray of sunshine, only not the kind that beats down on me when I’m workin’ on the road crew with Jason. And your pretty red hair with those big bouncy curls, made me want to reach right out and touch it just to see if I‘d get burned by it. It’s like you walk around carrying the warm glow of summer with you where ever you go, which is kinda’ funny since you can‘t go out in the sun at all.

When you sat down and started reading the menu then glanced up and smiled at me, I knew there was something between us. Just sitting with you talking, getting to know each other felt real good. I gotta’ admit though, I was a little taken aback when you ordered a True Blood. But that smile, along with your pretty blue eyes make me forget you’re a vampire, not that it matters to me even when I do remember you‘re one.

And when we finally kissed! WOW! My heart felt like it was ready to explode! I couldn’t even believe that you could possibly like me as much as I like you. I felt luckier than the day I won that fifty dollar scratch off!

I especially thought it was cute when your fangs popped out. But I meant what I said when I told you “Don’t be embarrassed about what you are. You’re Great!”

If you really think about it, there are more good things about being a vampire than there is bad. For example: You won’t get fat, old or ugly like my mama. Not that I care one bit about any of that, except that you don‘t get all mean like her, but I don‘t think you will. Another cool thing is you’re super strong! Heck, you could even lift the car if I ever need to change a flat tire. I really do like you a lot Jessica, and I really hope you feel the same way about me. I promise that we can take this real slow. I know we have to get used to different things about each other. Even guys and girls who aren’t vampires have to do that. I just want you to know I think we could have something real special here and hope you think so too.

I will check back here every day for your reply.

Yours,
Hoyt Fortenberry

Bill couldn’t help chuckling as he returned the folded paper back to its hiding spot in the urn. He had to admit, although Hoyt wasn’t exactly a poet he had no doubt Jessica would hug herself silly over his earnest words. He could already picture her responding with a few flowery words of her own. Not many women were able to resist the power of a love letter. With that thought, Bill hurried from the cemetery thinking of all the things he would include in his letter to Sookie.

True Blood Season 3 Finale Ratings

Bill Compton, Sookie Stackhouse, True Blood, Anna Paquin, Stephen MoyerThe ratings for the True Blood’s Season 3 finale have finally been revealed. The finale, Evil (Is Going On) was able to pull in 5.4 million viewers at 9 p.m and an additional 1.1 million during its encore at 11 p.m.

While the numbers were down by 60,000 viewers from the last episode, the season finale did increase by 5% when compared to the Season 2 finale. Though the VMAs on MTV took the lead Sunday night with a 6.2 rating for adults 18-49, True Blood was able to post a 3.0 rating for adults 18-49; this is quite impressive when it was going up against an award ceremony that had the charming Joe Manganiello presenting.

If we don’t count the finale, True Blood was able to pull in 12.7 million viewers this season, which include linear plays, DVR recordings and HBO on Demand. This is quite impressive; who knew a little vampire show could gain so many followers?

What exactly do all these numbers mean? Well, it means more of Sookie’s fae revelations, more of Bill’s southern charm, more of Lala’s cooking, lots of weres, lots of witches, and more summer nights with Eric Northman!

Stephen Moyer a Potential Candidate for Dr. Strange Film

Stephen Moyer, True Blood, Bill comptonIt’s a sign of how much fans have come to love Stephen Moyer from playing Bill Compton on True Blood that they are suggesting him for a number of roles in upcoming films. We just can’t get enough of that man.

Last week there were reports that Stephen had a lot of vocal support for the part of Roland in the adaptation of Stephen King’s Dark Hunter series. Now SciFiSquad.com is saying that people want him for the title role in Dr. Strange. At Dragon*Con in Atlanta a couple weeks ago, the legendary Stan Lee announced the adaptation from the classic Marvel comic book series, complete with a cameo from Stan himself.

Dr. StrangeIt is not scheduled for release until 2012, but we’ve all seen how much hype and publicity surround these comic book movies—and how the good ones become major worldwide blockbusters that launch their actors to superstardom.

Brad Trechak at SciFiSquad says he could see Stephen as the doctor (coincidentally, named Stephen Strange) “provided he could pull off the character’s required mustache.” Here’s hoping the casting director sees people talking about Stephen—he’s certainly talented enough to bring the master magician to life, and it would be great for his career.
