For those who don’t remember, Eggs was Tara’s love interest-turned-possessed-murderer, all thanks to that crazy maenad Maryann during season 2. Many thanks to the producers of Law & Order: SVU for the scoop!

Previously, the event involved meeting the stars, Q & A sessions, photo opportunities as well as plenty of people roleplaying their fave characters. This year looks set to be just as fun!
The first confirmed True Blood cast member is Mehcad Brooks, who played Benedict “Eggs” Talley in Season 2, but there should be plenty more to follow, if last year is anything to go by.
Tickets and event information are available now and can be found here. Prices are as follows:
Standard Adult Programme at £78 Silver Programme at £135 – Limited to 150! Gold Programme at £195 – Limited to 150!
The event is being held at the Park Inn hotel in Northampton from Friday August 5th to Sunday August 7th, 2011.

Mehcad Brooks who played Tara‘s love interest Eggs on HBO‘s True Bloodcan now be seen in the new State Farm ad airing on television stations everywhere. Co-starring with Selita Ebanks, Brooks appears shirtless as a “replacement” boyfriend after the State Farm representative arrives. Enjoy!
Hold on to your hats, ladies (and gents?)… the time has arrived for People’s Sexiest Man Alive. Of course some of the fellas from HBO‘s True Blood had to make the top 100 list! Did you ever doubt? I didn’t think so. Without further ado:
Sexy Chests to Be Thankful For
Joe Manganiello, ‘Alcide Herveaux‘
Manganiello plays Sookie‘s (Anna Paquin) new friend and protector, who happens to be a werewolf. We are very much looking forward to seeing more of him in upcoming seasons.
From People Magazine:
“True Blood‘s lone wolf doesn’t have any qualms about displaying his bare essentials for the HBO hit. ‘Werewolves don’t shift shapes with their jeans on!’ he explained to PEOPLE of his racy scenes.”
And are we ever thankful for that!
Stephen Moyer, ‘Vampire Bill’
Moyer plays 170-year-old Civil War veteran vampire Bill Compton, who is also Sookie’s on-again, off-again boyfriend. Lucky for us, vampires’ bodies don’t change, and what we’re left with is a strong and fit delight of a man. Yes, ma’am.
Mehcad Brooks, ‘Eggs‘
Brooks played ‘Eggs’ Tally, Tara‘s love interest in Season 2. It was sad to see him go, but thankfully we can still see him in other roles (the latest being Angelo Bembrey in Just Wright), and in the Spring 2010 Calvin Klein underwear ads. If you haven’t seen him in the ads, grab something to fan yourself with and have a seat. They are hot!
Sexy at Every Age
Joe Manganiello, fully clothed this time, looking quite handsome in a suit:
There you have it! Three cheers for our three studs! We are so proud.

TheTVJunkie had the opportunity to speak with Mehcad Brooks who played Eggs on Alan Ball‘s hit HBO TV vampire series True Blood during the 2010 TCA Summer Sessions. Although we will not be seeing Mehcad on True Blood any more, he did talk about his time on the show.
Our good friend Rebecca Murray from About.com had the opportunity to speak with Mehcad Brooks, aka Eggs, at the Los Angeles premier of the sci-fi thriller “Splice” and to discuss with him his appearance on True Blood and his upcoming directorial debut of “The Wolf.”
If you are missing Mehcad Brooks, who played Benedict “Eggs” Talley, in HBO’s True Blood, then don’t worry. He is going to be starring in a new pilot series by ABC entitled Generation Y which:
“revolves around a group of former high school students, tracking their paths over the past ten years and the events that have led them to where they are in the present day.”
Mehcad Brooks will play a character who has been overseas in Afghanistan and is trying to get home to his expectant wife and see the birth of his first child. Right now you can catch Mehcad as a handsome lawyer on ABC’s Deep End, then starting on March 21st you can catch him as “Eggs” in HBO’s encore showing of Season 2 of True Blood.
As Mehcad Brooks suits up for his role as a lawyer on ABC’s “The Deep End,” he reminisces with iF Magazine about time spent on the “True Blood” set, where he played Eggs, Tara Thornton‘s boyfriend in season two.
He said he had a lot of fun giving Eggs definition as a character — and he’s not talking about his muscles. The character is only in the novels the series is based on for a few chapters, so he and the writers got to make things up as they went along. He also had a longer run than expected — Eggs was only supposed to be in three episodes, but after his audition, Mehcad was asked to join the show.
Mehcad said his experience on the show was incredible, save the unsavory task of shooting scenes in a sweltering swamp.
“My last day of shooting “True Blood,” I was trudging through the swamps in between Lafayette and Baton Rouge. It was about 103 degrees, probably 110 heat index. They called, ‘Cut!’ and I said, ‘Next job I have, all air conditioning, all suits.’ … Swamp notwithstanding, I had an incredible experience on “True Blood.” It was an amazing show to be a part of, very well-received and it’s always a nice thing when people really appreciate the hard work that you put into something, so I could not have asked for a better run.”
Mehcad‘s role as Dallas-based lawyer Malcom Bennett on “The Deep End” has him tackling an entirely different role, he said, though he does draw from his experience working at his father’s law firm during high school. His character is blunt and guarded and always has the right answer.
“He’s somewhat guarded as a person, but he’s also glib and unapologetically dynamic. He’s always got the right answer, even if he doesn’t sugarcoat the pill, so you have to go to him and deal with him, even if you don’t like how he puts it. He’s very blunt. Perhaps it seems like he ignores feelings.”
Mehcad stars alongside Billy Zane, perhaps most famous for his “Titanic” role, and fellow HBO alum Tina Majorino, who played Heather Tuttle on “Big Love.”
Although we may not be seeing Mehcad Brooks in season 3 of Alan Ball‘s hit HBO TV vampire series you can still catch him on his new show, “The Deep End” or at various events such as this 0ne. Mehcad took time out of his busy schedule to attend the “GQ Best New Menswear Designers Party” held at the IAC Building on February 11, 2010 in New York City. Looking good!
Several members of the True Blood cast were interviewed in yet another video taken at the SAG Awards. Amongst those were Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica Hamby), Alexander Skarsgard (Eric Northman), Mariana Klaveno (Lorena), and Mehcad Brooks (Eggs).
There were several small topics discussed in the video. First was about being at the SAGs. In that portion of the video, Deborah said “I think I was most excited about seeing my boyfriend in his fabulous suit. We’re such jeans and t-shirts kind of people that it’s nice to see him gussied up a bit.”
Alex talked directly about the SAG awards, commenting, “[It’s] very humbling… Amazing. Very flattering to be nominated.”
Mariana talked about how the SAGs allow actors to see their peers. She said, “It’s a little surreal. I just passed by Betty White and Joan Allen and I’m a little starstruck.”
The next section of the video was about how and when different actors got their SAG cards (you must have a speaking line in something before you are eligible to get it). Alex played the joker in this section of the video. His response “I thought you were going to say ‘When did you get this tall?'” was rather amusing!
Mariana said she got her SAG card because [she] was blown up on Alias. (I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants to see her character on True Blood have the same thing happen to her!)
Another portion of the video had the stars talking about the SAG Awards as a whole. Mehcad had this to say: “It’s us… You know it’s us voting for each other, it’s us patting ourselves on the back, it’s us respecting each other for work that we really appreciate and connect to.”
Alex‘s comment was more about being around the cast of True Blood than the SAG Awards themselves. He said, “It sounds kind of boring but I’m actually really excited because it’s seventeen of us in the cast—we’re all here tonight and we don’t—we never work together because there’s so many storylines going on on the show… I’m actually quite excited to hang out with the whole group tonight.”
In the final part of the video, which showed some various show casts with their awards, there is a two-second glimpse of Patrick Gallagher (Vampire Chow) saying “Thank you, thank you” for winning his award for his work on GLEE.
This is a rather long video (around 11 minutes), but just to see the cast of True Blood makes watching the whole thing worth it! After all, who doesn’t enjoy seeing actors we all love dressed to the nines?
Mehcad Brooks was recently interviewed by Jim Halterman from jimhalterman.com, and during the interview (which is mostly about his character on the new ABC show The Deep End), Mehcad talked about what it was like being Eggs on True Blood.
The main True Blood question Jim asked was what was Mehcad‘s experience during Season 2 of True Blood. Mehcad‘s response was pretty funny! He said:
It was just insane. It was weird. It was crazy but it was actually kind of therapeutic and great for an actor. It’s the type of role that you dream of. You’re able to have the dramatic moments and have these dramatic storylines and arcs but at the same time you get to devour heart pie! One moment you’re having an orgy in the middle of the woods and it’s 45 degrees outside and you can see your breath. You’re actually discussing Kafka and Puccini between pelvic thrusts. And you’re pondering how it is you’re being paid for this and trying to make it seem real.
Mehcad‘s experience sounds immensely entertaining, and the mental imagery to go along with his statement is pretty fun too!
Of course, there are many other questions in the interview, including one about Mehcad‘s willingness to portray a gay character if he were offered such a role.
This is definitely a very interesting interview with Mehcad that everyone should read and we encourage you to visit the site to read it in its entirety.
Also, we must extend a big thank you to Jim Halterman for informing us about his interview with Mehcad and sharing it with us.
The very handsome men of True Blood walked the red carpet at the 16th Annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards on Saturday, January 23, 2010 held at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center. True Blood fans will remember Mehcad Brooks as Tara Thornton‘s (Rutina Wesley) boyfriend Benedict “Eggs” Talley who was controlled by Maryann to do some nasty deeds and met a deadly finish at the end of season 2. Now Mehcad is set to star as a regular in the ABC upcoming legal drama “The Deep End.” as Malcolm Bennet, an associate at a prestigious LA law firm where the show is set.

His days as Benedict “Eggs” Talley in True Blood may be over and we’ll never see the great chemistry shared by him and Tara ever again. But Mehcad Brooks’ oozing hotness is just beginning to sizzle. On his recent interview with Honey Magazine, Mehcad talked about a funny incident on Facebook, his sexiness, thoughts about settling down, Prop 8, celebrity crushes, and more. Looks like we’ll never get over him.
Mehcad said that his Facebook account has been canceled due to the grounds that they thought he was impersonating himself. He said that the guy who’s pretending to be him has his account still. But if you’re on Twitter, you can follow the “real” him @MehcadBrooks.
Now owning one of Hollywood’s great bodies is not as easy as some might think. Mehcad has been working out heavily since he was 17 and he used to go to the gym four or five days a week. Recently, it has been slim down to two days a week – probably because of his tight schedule. For him, working out in the gym has to do with mind, body, and spirit. This is why he started doing yoga this year. He also reads a lot of books based on personal power and laws of attraction.
Fact – he has a body to die for. He’s got those sexy abs and now he’s been equated as one of the sex symbols in Hollywood. But he seems to just laugh it off and would rather be known for something else. He said,
“It’s nice to be appreciated for whatever reason…Looks fade, so that’s not the main focus…I’d rather not be known for that. I’d rather be known for being good.”
And not just that. Mehcad is also awkward in claiming his sexiness.
“I mean, it’s just a strange thing to claim. I can own the fact that I’m a good actor, because I work really hard at it. I can own the fact that I’m athletic because I work really hard at it. I can own the fact that I have a lot of stamina and I have lot of strength because I work really hard at that. But one person may find me sexy, and another might not find me sexy. That’s all subjective, an opinion. I can’t go around proclaiming that I know other people’s opinions about me. Plus, I see myself everyday, and I see everything that’s wrong. I don’t see everything that’s right, most of the time. It’s all relative. Sometimes I’m running and working out and sometimes I’m just trying to chill, stomach hanging out, chilling.”
Funny thing about Mehcad is that he doesn’t consider himself as a sex symbol nor does he think he’s sexy. Talk about being humble again! He said,
“The thing is I don’t really consider myself a sex symbol, because I don’t find myself sexy.”
He also said that he doesn’t mind being bare-naked, while walking out on the streets.
“I don’t have any problem taking my clothes off. I don’t even like clothing. If you have to wear them, you may as well look good in them. But if I had my way, I’d just walk around the street, you know, chillin … with just a pair of socks on.”
But believe it or not, Mehcad is a self-proclaimed nerd and a film dork. Well, we can forgive him for being a film dork – he’s a film student. But a nerd? I know. It’s really difficult to digest that. He must probably be just bluffing. But when asked what makes him a nerd, he said,
“The books that I read. The fact that I read at all. I don’t follow sports a lot. My sport is politics.
Actually, he’s just not into following the sports stats, but he sure does watch the Super Bowl and the NBA playoffs and those other big stuffs that he think matters.
Moreover, Mehcad revealed that he loves women. He finds a lot of women very nurturing and good listeners. And the reason why it was really easy for him to end simply going into one relationship after another is because he has a lot of female friends. And lately, he’s been trying to focus on his career and finding the right woman is not his top concern as of the moment. But he would want to have a wife and kids someday. He said,
“I’ve been trying to focus on other things, like on my career. And just focus on who I am as a human being without being wrapped up in relationships. Finding the one is not my top priority right now.”
Mehcad, equipped not only with an awesome body, but also with sheer intelligence, speaks his mind out about the whole Prop 8, which he finds abhorrent.
“I find it really offensive. I just find it really problematic when you start throwing people’s rights away. Until we get our gay brothers and sisters back into a realm of consciousness that everyone else is in, it’s just not right. A woman who’s getting married — it’s probably going to be a gay man who made her dress, and a gay man who’s doing her hair and makeup, but he can’t get married.”
He also confessed about his celebrity crushes. He said that he has a huge celebrity crush on Halle Berry, which won’t fade away. Also, he has a crush on Rachel Maddow’s mind. And for his ideal woman, he said,
“I really like an attentive listener. And support. And a woman who has her own, who can support herself and feel secure in her own skin. I complement her and she complements me.”
Alright, let’s face it. Mehcad Brooks is really out of True Blood, but just like everybody else on the show, he’s already made a name for himself. And ladies, if you’re a good listener and supportive, maybe you’re the girl Mehcad’s been looking for.
Mehcad Brooks, who portrays Tara Thornton‘s love interest, Benedict “Eggs” Talley, on Alan Ball‘s highly successful HBO TV vampire series True Blood has landed the role as a regular in ABC’s upcoming legal drama “The Deep End.” Mehcad has been cast in the role of Malcolm Bennet, an associate at a prestigious LA law firm where the show is set.
Now this announcement has many True Blood fans wondering what does it mean in regards to his character on the show. Will Mehcad return to True Blood for season 3 or is this an indication of something about his character leading many to speculate on the fate of Eggs in the season finale. We will have to wait and see what will happen in the season finale of True Blood which will air on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 9pm on HBO.
