True Blood Season 6: Werewolf Jamie Gray Hyder Reveals All About Revealing All

Newcomer Jamie Gray Hyder Talks About Being A Werewolf on True Blood:

Jamie Gray Hyder stars as the werewolf Danielle in HBO's True Blood Season 6Being a werewolf in HBO’s True Blood means one thing: expect nudity! So how did newcomer Jamie Gray Hyder deal with it when her character, Danielle, had to strip off for the first time in True Blood Season 6? Well, it seems, according to her interview with PopSugar, she took it all in her stride. Even though she was nervous and went out of her way to get in shape before hand, she felt comfortable in knowing that the crew would help her through it. She was quick to point out that all the cast and crew have dealt so much with nudity on the show over the years, that it is possibly the best place to get your gear off as far as TV studios goes.

And how has the True Blood fame been treating her?

The fans are so amazing. We have the most loyal fan base in the entire world. They know so much about you and what’s going on and that’s been such an awesome experience.

She also added that working for True Blood and HBO is such a great career move, with so many other studios willing to hire you are HBO has put their faith in you.

Surprisingly, though, even though Hyder is a True Blood cast member, she was just as in the dark as the fans when it came to the death of Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe). It seems the cast only get to see the scripts for the scenes they are in, so when she was asked earlier on in Season 6, who the big death might be, she really couldn’t answer since she had no idea herself.

Kristin Bauer van Straten And Joe Manangiello Discuss The True Blood Season 5 Finale

The Actors Sat Down at San Diego ComicCon to Discuss HBO’s Vampire Drama:

truebloodpam_hollywood_reporterJust before the ComicCon panel for HBO’s True Blood, Joe Manangiello and Kristin Bauer van Straten sat down together to discuss their characters in the series’ Season 5. Mr. Manangiello plays hunky werewolf Alcide Herveaux and Ms. Bauer van Straten portrays snarky vampire Pamela de Beaufort.

Both actors look forward to and enjoy the fan interaction of their ComicCon appearances. They agreed that the True Blood panel was as close to being a Beatle as either of them will ever get. Ratings numbers and internet chatter does not provide the same pleasure as seeing the enthusiastic faces of fans.

Mr. Manangiello readily revealed that Alcide will be having a great deal of sex during Season 5.

“I really feel like I’m having the full True Blood experience. I get to have sex with a bunch of people. I get around sexually, I kill people. It’s pretty rad.”

Both actors agreed that True Blood is very much about relationships in Season 5, both the sexual and the emotional. Ms. Bauer Van Straten, however, is disappointed that her character has yet to kill anyone on screen. She says she watches Alex (Skarsgård) ripping bodies apart and wishes she got to do that.

Ms. Bauer van Straten’s character Pam, has become a maker in Season 5, having turned Tara (Rutina Wesley) in order to save her life. At the same time, Pam has been released by her own maker, Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård).

“Everything really is at stake for Pam. It expanded this year for me. Pam became totally 3D.”

Kristin and Joe Discuss Sex with Werewolves and the True Blood Season 5 Finale

Mr. Manangiello revealed that there is a rougher version of Alcide’s drunken make-out session with Sookie (Anna Paquin) than the one that finally aired. That footage, however, is on the cutting room floor. He also told about conversations he had with showrunner Alan Ball, before the filming of Season 5 regarding what sex with a werewolf would be like.

“We both agreed that the girl wakes up in the morning and does that ‘Oh’ thing, and then does the cowgirl walk the whole day.”

Ms. Bauer van Straten confessed to being a geek herself over the television show Battlestar Galactica. At a previous ComicCon she met Tricia Helfer (Cylon Number Six), who had never seen True Blood and didn’t realize Ms. Bauer van Straten was also an actress.

“So I have this really awkward photo with Tricia Helfer somewhere.”

When asked about the True Blood Season 5 finale, neither actor could say much without spoilers. Ms. Bauer van Straten was happy with what Pam got to do during her scenes. Mr. Manganiello was thrilled to have Robert Patrick (Terminator 2) playing his father and said his scenes are sufficiently bloody.

This video is a very entertaining watch. The actors interact with friendship and humor that can’t be described and do it justice.

Video: True Blood Cast Dishes Spoilers at Season 5 Premiere

New Couples, Old Adversaries, a Long Awaited Backstory:

Alexander Skarsgård, Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer at True Blood Season 5 PremiereWhen the cast of HBO’s True Blood turned out for the Season 5 premiere, they were interviewed on the red carpet. Everyone was happy to share information and insights into their characters and the events of the show itself.

*Warning: Mild spoilers ahead!

Alan Ball said that Season 5 is the season of church and state. It’s the season of politics and religion from the vampire perspective. When asked about Scott Foley’s character, Patrick, Mr. Ball explained that he made a bad decision in the heat of battle and it has far reaching consequences. Finally, Mr. Ball alluded to the introduction of some new romantic couples. He couldn’t elaborate because it would give too many story details away.

Jacob Hopkins (Alexander) described his character as feisty and strong minded. He says Alexander grew more obnoxious with each episode.

Denis O’Hare (Russell Edgington) said that vampire politics are the focus of Season 5. Mr. O’Hare explained that when people are brought back to life, they have to lose something. With Russell’s resurrection, he has lost his vicious ambition. In its place are a playfulness, ease, and humor. But make no mistake, Russell is still really dangerous. He still kills a lot of people, and kills them with glee. When asked, Mr. O’Hare said it took Russell about 4-5 episodes to heal. Most intriguingly of all, Russell unexpectedly falls in love again.

“Something happens from across the room. Something happens while sharing a body. Someone you know. You’ll be very surprised  by it.”

Lucy Griffiths (Nora) explained that Nora and her ‘brother’ Eric love each other very much but haven’t seen one another in a long time. Their relationship can be very fraternal, in that they can be very aggressive toward each other. They make a great team when they work together but otherwise they just mess each other up.

Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton) talked of the close relationship that developed between his character and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård).

“We’re good friends and it’s been a lot of fun. And we sort of love each other.”

Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam) shared that Nora’s appearance caused a little bit of trouble for Pam. Ms. Bauer van Straten explained that she and Alex have been asking for Pam’s backstory for years and were thrilled to finally see it played out. She says the story explains the Pam we know.

Kelly Overton plays a new werewolf character named Rikki. She describes her character as a strong, resourceful werewolf, the opposite of the damsel in distress. She’s determined to find out what happened to the Pack Master and is not loving Alcide at the moment.

Rutina Wesley said that, despite people’s doubts, Tara is coming back.

Michael McMillian (Steve Newlin) said that becoming a vampire might be the best thing that’s ever happened to Steve. At first, he wondered if Steve would be self-loathing but the reality is, he’s very attracted to power. Jason is the guy Steve always wanted to be and he’s coming after Jason. But, Jason has a new vampire friend in Jessica.

“If you mess with Jason, you mess with Jessica.”

Apparently, the first four episodes are a Pam tour de force, and the origin story between Pam and Eric is fantastic. Fans don’t have long to wait now. Season 5 of True Blood premieres on HBO June 10th.

Check out the video below, if you’d prefer to skip to the good stuff (strictly True Blood related), it starts right before the 3-minute mark. Enjoy!

Joe Manganiello Dishes on “Magic Mike” and the “Season of the Werewolf”

 A Werewolf Stripper?

Joe Manganiello Scream Awards 2011As fans eagerly await the return of True Blood’s Season 5 this summer, Joe Manganiello seems to be the most prolific celebrity spoiler for the show.  It has been noted that if we were to call season four the season of the witch, season five will be the season of the werewolf.  That means a whole host of hot new werewolf cast members.  Manganiello told Access Hollywood correspondent Tim Vincent (at GQ’s Men of the Year Party in LA) that he’s looking forward to the season.  Last season, Alcide “helped end the reign – and life – of packmaster Marcus… and actress Dale Dickey recently joined the cast as Marcus’ – presumably grieving – mom.”

Manganiello said:

“I can’t wait to work with her (Dale Dickey) and I think there’s gonna be some werewolves who are gonna give Alcide some trouble this season, as well.  I’m anxious to see who they’ll cast.”

The actor has revealed that he’s on par with the fans in wanting to see his character bump nasties with Paquin’s.  “Alcide likes Sookie a whole heck of a lot.  She’s single, Alcide’s single… I totally want to see them hook up.”  Apparently, Manganiello’s mother is a big Paquin fan as well, and wants to see her son’s character “find love with Bon Temps’ fairy-waitress.”

He also raved about the disastrous return of Russell Edgington.  “I love Denis O’Hare,” he said.  “Him coming back – it’s not good for Alcide, but it’s definitely good for the show.”

Finally, in a separate interview with Access Hollywood, Manganiello spoke about his role in the new, star-studded, male-stripper movie “Magic Mike” in which he plays Big Dick Richie (Gasp! Drool.)  While the movie was “loosely inspired by Channing Tatum’s own past,” the actors were treated to lessons from the likes of Britney Spears’ choreography team.  “Body rolls, some hip stuff,” Manganiello mentioned.  His costars include Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Adam Rodriguez, and Alex Pettyfer.

I personally am waiting with bated breath for the release of this film (in post-production) along with the return of True Blood, of course.  Who’s with me? Leave your thoughts in the comments section, and check out the two full interviews that I have listed as sources if you need anything juicier.

Spoiler: New Weres Cast for True Blood Season 5

Lions and Tigers and Weres, Oh My!

Louis Herthum (new werewolf season 5)Well just when we thought True Blood couldn’t get any juicier, it appears that the Were world is going to secure some new story lines in the upcoming Season Five. There has been confirmation that two new actors have been cast as recurring roles.

The Last Exorcism’s Louis Herthum has been cast as (reportedly) Alcide Herveaux‘s (Joe Manganiello) Father JD, who will play a “marine type” who refuses to submit alligence to the new Shreveport pack leader. Herthum has signed on for 5 episodes, hopefully the story of Alcide and his father will have a happy ending, though if it follows suit to the rest of the series storylines, I doubt that is likely.

Kelly Overton (new werewolf season 5)The second addition to the True Blood cast is Kelly Overton of The Ring 2. Overton will play Rikki, a sexy new were, who is determined to find out what has happened to the old pack leader Marcus Overton has signed on for 6 episodes, hopefully she doesn’t meet the same fate as the one she is searching to find answers about…

One thing is certain, the writers for True Blood are expanding the scope of the supernatural world, and letting the world know, that vampires are not the only sexy supes out there… though this point was already made loud and clear with the role of Alcide and the sexy Joe Manganiello.

Joe Manganiello Hints on Season 5 of True Blood

“The Year of the Werewolf”:

Joe Manganiello as True Blood’s Alcide Herveaux Last year HBO’s True Blood was without a doubt all about the witches (besides the ever present vampires). This year, Joe Manganiello (who plays uber-hot werewolf, Alcide Herveaux), has suggested it will be time for the weres to take a stand:

“They’re casting a lot of new werewolves, a lot of hot werewolf chicks.”

Some of which may cause Alcide grief, as he suggested to Access Hollywood correspondent, Tim Vincent. Take Dale Dickey (from Winter’s Bone), for example, who has been cast to play the mom of Marcus, the pack leader that Alcide disposed of in Season 4.

“I think there’s gonna be some werewolves who are gonna give Alcide some trouble this season, as well. I’m anxious to see who they’ll cast.”

Manganiello has also revealed in Los Angeles, as he strolled down the red carpet for the GQ 2011 Men of the Year party, that he knew exactly what was in store for Season 5.

So we need to make sure we all listen very carefully to anything that Joe Manganiello says about True Blood – like we don’t already!

Manganiello Answers: Do Werewolves Wear Underwear?

Dishing on an Alcide-Sookie Romance, Raw Meat on Set, and ‘The Sock’:

Joe Manganiello as alcide-true-blood-season-4-episode-4True Blood star Joe Manganiello (Alcide) recently chatted with Access Hollywood Live, dishing on plenty of behind the scene details. And the answer to hosts Billy Bush’s and Kate Walsh’s burning question:

“No, werewolves do not wear underwear.”

But they do wear ‘The Sock’. For those not familiar, the infamous sock is worn on set by male cast members for health purposes and modesty.

Manganiello also dished on the possibility of an AlcideSookie romance. While Sookie (Anna Paquin) is currently in fang deep with amnesiac Vampire Sheriff Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård), we’ve got to wonder if it will last? The actor weighed in:

“Obviously my character’s very close and she (Sookie) has stuff going on with Eric right now, but as you can see from the last episode, the ghost of her grandmother channeled through this medium (Marnie) and told her to not give her heart to the guy she may be falling in love with. So obviously, the door’s still open.”

We’ve got to wonder – what does this mean for Alcide and Debbie?

Aside from romances, Joe shared insight on the real wolves on set:

“Here’s the thing, when the wolf is present and they bring them out on big thick chains… My brother jokingly said he was gonna sneak into my trailer and switch out my sock for a sausage casing. But there’s literally a trainer standing in back of me, waving raw meat at this thing to get it to look at me… and I’m naked.”

As soon as you’re done wiping the drool off your face, tell us Truebies — do you see a future for Alcide and Sookie?

A True Blood Newbie Teases her Character Over the Airwaves

Janina Gavankar Talks True Blood on LA Talk Radio

Janina Gavankar

The newest blood to join the True Blood cast is Janina Gavankar and she’s already dropping hints about Season 4. Fans will come to know Janina as Luna, the newest shifter in Bon Temps as well as her being the first Native American character on the show. She chatted with her good friend Sheena on LA’s talk radio program the Sheena Metal Experience during  the two year anniversary of her radio show.

Though she wasn’t into weres and vampires when she was a girl, Janina looks forward to reading the Sookie Stackhouse novels to see who the Luna in the books is, although she wants to create her own version of the character. The actress who is of mixed Indian and Dutch descent even enlisted the help of make up artists to changed her skin tone to add a red tone she doesn’t naturally have in order to really show the character’s Native American blood.

As with all shape-shifters and weres on the HBO series, Janina does have to get naked, but she isn’t too bothered by it. For her it’s all about the character and the fact that transforming from one vessel to another is the shape-shifter way. She does reveal that viewers will get a lot more insight and history on shape-shifters and she even gets a scene with shifter Tommy played by Marshall Allman. That’s right Truebies! When we left the season finale, Tommy’s fate was unknown, but it looks like Janina has spilled the beans and fans everywhere are relieved that she did!

All About the Music

Aside from loving her character, what else does she love about True Blood? The music, of course! Janina herself is talented singer and she, like all fans of the show, sees how much the music influences and creates the scenes we all know and love.

It seems the world of the shape shifters is expanding with Season 4 and with Janina’s dedication to creating a well developed character, the who’s better competition between vamps and shifters will be heating up.

Team Vampire vs. Team Werewolf: Can You Choose?

Who deserves to win this long-time blood feud?

Alexander Skarsgård as Eric Northman attacking a wolf

It’s pretty common knowledge that vamps and weres are sworn enemies–some would call it a “blood feud,” and their rivalry goes way, way back. The long-standing bad blood between vamps and weres has been chronicled time and again over the decades. It goes back before Charlaine Harris’ introduction of her Sookie Stackhouse character to werewolves in the 2002 book Living Dead in Dallas and later to the huge, hunk-a-licious were, ‘Alcide Herveaux’ in 2003’s Club Dead. It goes back before vampire ‘Selene’ and vampire-were hybrid ‘Michael’ fell in love in the 2003 movie Underworld‘. It even goes back before Joss Whedon’s 1990’s pop-culture vamp vehicle,Buffy the Vampire Slayer,’ when the Sunnydale slayer encountered teenage werewolf, ‘Oz’  in 1998.

You have to go all the way back to the most famous cinematic vampire and werewolf characters of the 20th century to see how these two iconic supernaturals began not playing nicely. In ‘The House of Frankenstein‘ (1944) and ‘The House of Dracula’ (1945)  Lon Chaney, Jr. as ‘The Wolf Man’ took on ‘Count Dracula’ (John Carradine).  That is one long feud!

Vampires and Werewolves: Did you know that…?

What is intriguing about the ubiquitous theme of vampires and werewolves being sworn enemies is that legend has it that dead werewolves would rise as vampires!

Also, though we’ve often seen vampires being portrayed transforming into other creatures such as bats as well as wolves, did you know that the Slavonic word volkodlak, which means werewolf translates into the word vampire in Serbian?

Coincidence? You decide.

Reasons why vamps and weres (maybe) should try to get along:

  • Both creatures sport big fangs
  • Traditional vampires and werewolves come out only at night
  • They both hate silver
  • They’re both demonized by humans, considered unholy monsters

The folks at TV Guide.com are currently posing a seemingly easy-to-answer question:  If you had to choose sides–Team Vampire or Team Werewolf–which team would you choose?

So what do you think? Have you thrown down for the vampires or werewolves? Whose team would you be on: Team Vampire or Team Were?

Joe Manganiello’s Hopes About Sookie and David Bowie For Season 4

Season 3 of True Blood was a lot sexier thanks to Joe Manganiello, who plays werewolf Alcide Herveaux. Now a series regular, Joe spoke about Season 4 at the Alice and Olivia New York Fashion Week event.

He talks a little about the future for his characters as well as Sookie, but what’s really interesting is his hope to have David Bowie guest star on the show. David Bowie in Bon Temps? That would make for high ratings…maybe someone at HBO should take Joe’s advice.

Check out the video interview to get your True Blood fix as well as some juicy details about Season 4.

Joe Manganiello’s Work Out Tips

Nowadays actors not only have to act well, but they have to look good doing it too. True Blood has the sexiest and most attractive cast right now on television. But how do they keep their bodies so toned? Resident werewolf Alcide Herveaux, played by Joe Manganiello reveals in his interview with Muscle & Body magazine the work out regime that keeps his body in shape.

Before True Blood or the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama for that matter, Joe‘s goal was to be a naturally lean and fit athlete. As a varsity basketball, volleyball, and football star, the 6’5″ athlete snubbed steroids, looking for a natural way to develop body he always wanted.

It’s his role as a werewolf on True Blood that has given Joe the opportunity to create his ripped body. Joe plays Alcide, who has been assigned to protect Sookie Stackhouse as she searches for her vampire beau Bill Compton. In order to channel his inner animal, he beasts through a cardio and protein intensive regimen he refers to as the Werewolf Workout, which is a 6 day, twice a day routine originally created by celebrity trainer Ron Matthews (known for sculpting Hugh Jackman‘s body for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men movies).

The 33 year old Pittsburgh native has used his classical training and natural athleticism to dive into the acting world. He’s done television sitcoms, such as “How I Met Your Motherand “Til’ Death”, as well physically arduous action roles in “Spiderman” and” Behind Enemy Lines: Colombia”. He’s been known to do his own risky stunts, even pulling a back muscle when he learned slamball on the CW drama “One Tree Hill”. For Joe, he attributes his success to the blue collared work ethic he learned from his family growing up and his work out regimen is simply part of the job.

As a kid, Joe prayed to be a werewolf. Michael J. Fox is partly to blame for this when he made being a werewolf look cool in his movie “Teen Wolf”. The bigger inspiration for being a were was from the black and white monster movies with Bella Lugosi, Boris Karloff and Lon Chaney Jr. From these movies, Joe’s inspiration was sparked; he drew monsters and read Stephen King books to the point were his dad has to take them away from him. During his daily trip to church every morning with his Catholic elementary school, Joe spent the time praying to become a werewolf. As a kid, he heard that if you prayed hard enough for something, God would answer you. After a few weeks though, when his prayers weren’t heard, he started questioning God. Now it seems his faith has been restored through Alan Ball‘s True Blood.

With his role as a werewolf, he’s finally allowed to let the beast within out. Joe notes,

“That’s what is so interesting to me about werewolves in the pantheon of monsters. Growing up as a naturally big kid, you’re taught to be responsible, not lash out, not use your size. I think there’s a definite parallel between that and Alcide. Being a werewolf, there’s a real sense of catharsis letting that beast out.”

For Joe, it’s important to look the part. For a character who spends a lot of time as an animal, Alcide’s body needed to reflect that of his wolf counterpart. Animals are generally leaner and very muscular. Alcide, in Joe‘s eyes, needed to have a more primitive look.

When he teamed up with Ron, in order to get into shape, Joe began to focus on cardio and diet. The 6 day program includes a 45 minute cardio work out before breakfast and then another work out during the day with weights. Joe adjusted quickly to the regimen citing,

“A lot of actors he trains do not come from an athletic background, so they’re really kind of working out for the first time, or they’re trying to pack on a lot of muscle in a short amount of time. I was an athlete growing up and right up to the point when I started studying acting. So I come from that background, and it’s more about cutting up and sculpting and working on strengths that I already had.”

As for his diet, Joe has a lot of protein in his diet. He’s constantly eating to keep his metabolism up, which tends to get the people around him–his girlfriend, his cast mates, people on the set–joking that he’s never without food in his hands. Sometimes he can be found at Fogo de Chao, a Brazilian steakhouse, where you can eat all the meat you want. Joe reveals he can sit at the restaurant for 2-3 hours eating protein. The only carbs Joe has in his diet is oatmeal in the morning. He also has had to give up sugar and bread in exchange for clean forms of protein and fibrous vegetables. Though he does have some fruit, he’s eats a lot more high protein low fat meat, such as salmon or buffalo meat. He’ll also have lots of egg whites and whey protein throughout the day.

Aside from eating all day, Joe also researches his role as Alcide. Before becoming friendly with the wolf trainers on True Blood, Joe watched National Geographic videos about a man who lives with wolves. Now that he’s made friends with his golden American timber wolf counterpart and the trainers, he’ s been allowed to take the wolf on a 45 minute walk.

Though he can’t actually become a wolf, Joe does do a lot of his own stunts. Though he isn’t an actual stuntman, as an actor he’s had opportunities to use his athleticism. The producers tend to draw the line on what Joe can’t do before Joe draws the line. He’ll do whatever they let him do. However, for extreme stunts, his stunt double is called in. However, the stuff he has been allowed to do has been exciting and has made his heart race. Being able to do some of his own stunts has made him a better actor.

Thankfully, Joe has made it through all his stunts in one piece. Though he has had some injuries: a broken elbow, a broken thumb, and a torn MCL. In a four episode arc in One Tee Hill involving slamball, Joe ended up pulling a muscle next to his spine, which made it hurt to sit, to lie down, and even stand up. However, all of his injuries healed completely.

Was it an injury that changed his plans from sports to acting? For Joe, had he not been accepted into Carnegie Mellon, he would have pursued sports in college. However, another decision for him to change his future goals was that the people around him were starting to use steroids. It was starting to look as if he wanted to compete with these people, he’d have to start using steroids as well.  He didn’t want that. Instead he sculpted his body naturally; though it may have taken longer and a lot of hard work, he can be proud of his body.

Alan Ball has called Joe, the complete package. To explain this Joe says,

“I come from an [acting] background where they taught us all the forms of classical theater. What’s great is I get to work on a project as great as “True Blood” where I get to combine that classical training with dialect work and include my athletic background. When I was a kid thinking about what I wanted to do for a living, I kind of envisioned something that could combine athleticism with research skills. I love reading; I love history. Thankfully, it’s all come to fruition.”

How does Joe keep his work out regimen while shooting True Blood? While Joe doesn’t like doing heavy work outs before he acts, he does have weights in his trailer for long 16-18 hour workdays. Working out twice a day and eating nonstop is like a full time job. The Werewolf Work Out has kept him busy. When he has time off, he looks forward to playing basketball again.

His training discipline has definitely helped Joe’s acting. He says,

“I approach the artist’s lifestyle, the actor’s lifestyle, from an athletic perspective. But I think it’s also that I come from Pittsburgh and a blue-collar background. I used to work in construction. People can say whatever they want about talent, but I just try to get in there and work harder than the next guy. I also think coming from team sports [helps] — TV is a team sport; it’s collaboration. I come from that type of mentality.”

Joe Manganiello Thinks Debbie is Psychotic

Although Comic Con 2010 is over, there are still questions to be asked of our favorite True Blood characters. Vanity Fair talked with Joe Manganiello about events surrounding  his character, Alcide Herveaux.

Joe said he did, indeed, read book 3 of Charlaine Harris Southern Vampire Series, Club Dead, to prepare himself for his audition. He now has the entire set and said he does refer to them from time to time.

In a humorous moment, Joe shared that he got to hang out with Charlaine Harris at Comic Con 2010. Talking about preparing for this fan favorite character, he said to her:

Charlaine, so he’s got biceps the size of boulders, huh? Do you know how many hours I spent in the gym trying to match your description of this guy?!”

When referring to the Club Dead bar in the book, Joe said it was revamped into the show’s werewolf bar, Lou Pine’s. The book bar was for all types of supernatural creatures – witches, were-owls, and a were-lynxs. But the storyline of True Blood is keeping with the werewolves at the moment.

A question was asked about the two occasions of “trust” – Alcide told Sookie, “I trust you” and in another scene he told Debbie, when she threatened him,”I believe you”. Joe said that nice-guy Alcide goes on instinct.

“I think there’s a lot of instinct; werewolves come from their heart – they act first and think later – saying, “I’m a good guy, trust me”. I think there’s a vibe that he radiates.”

And what about Debbie and Sookie? What’s in store for Alcide‘s romantic life? With reference to Debbie, Joe says no way in hell is Alcide getting back with her. He thinks she’s psychotic. It was actually helping Sookie that got Alcide back into that whole scene.

In fact, Joe revealed that Sookie is the “catalyst for the emerging leader that comes out of Alcide“. He wants nothing to do with werewolf politics, but events happen that change things.

Speaking of Sookie and political events, Joe gave us a few little spoilers. Alcide transitions from an “unlikely hero” to a leader. He has already made some enemies and he will form some “unusual alliances”.

“And you’re going to see Alcide very much in the middle of a courtship with Sookie. You’re going to see him positioning himself among her potential suitors.”

It’s certainly a nail-biting, fang-extending season. Watch more blood sucking as Season 3 continues.
