True Blood Season 7 Spoilers: Goodbyes, Weird Sex & Love Triangles

Could an Original Cast Member Die in Episode 9 of HBO’s True Blood ?

Tara Buck stars as Ginger in HBO's True Blood Season 7It seems Episode 9 (entitled Love is to Die) will say a final goodbye to yet another original cast member of HBO’s True Blood! But will they die? It seems the devil is in the fine print of what TVGuide had to say about the upcoming episode recently:

With only two episodes to go, there are a lot of narrative threads to tie up, including the issue of Bill [Compton]’s mortality. I will only say this: At least one original cast member will say goodbye for good this week. In possibly related news, a longstanding love triangle will be resolved and you’ll see one of the show’s weirdest — and funniest — sex scenes between a long-unrequited pair.

How interesting is that news? With the admission of a long term love triangle also being resolved, one could assume that with Bill’s (Stephen Moyer) death, Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) finally chooses Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard).  Consolation prize anyone? However, there is another love triangle going on at the moment – that of Hoyt Fortenberry (Jim Parrack), Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) and Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten). Perhaps TVGuide are referring to that triangle instead? Maybe Jess and Hoyt get back together and Jessica decides to move to Alaska to be with him? After all, it doesn’t specifically say the cast member will die.

And what of that sex scene, huh? Who do we know on True Blood that is part of an ‘unrequited pair’? Could it be Sookie and Eric? Probably not, since they have been intimate before. But it sure doesn’t leave many other options. Perhaps Arlene (Carrie Preston) and Keith (Riley Smith)? Especially since TVLine had this spoiler to announce:

Not everyone will get a happy ending on True Blood… but I think it’s safe to say that Arlene and Keith will be among the lucky few. Though we’re not going to get another pool table scene, this Sunday’s episode does show the effect Arlene’s relationship with Keith is having on her. (Spoiler Alert: She’s a very happy woman.)

But they haven’t been an item for very long, and many wouldn’t even really consider them as such. Oh, hang on a minute – what about Ginger (Tara Buck) and Eric? Now that would potentially be hilarious and weird!

True Blood Season 7 Sees the Return of Past Characters?

Even Dead True Blood Characters May Get a Look In:

Group still of HBOs True Blood Season 7E!Online has revealed that HBO’s True Blood Season 7, besides being the very last season for the vampire show, may bring in some old characters – possibly even some we thought were long dead.

Showing an image of Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare)E!Online reminds fans that sometimes dead just ain’t dead on True Blood! They also suggested that one cast member to return could be Todd Lowe (who played the recently deceased Terry Bellefleur). This seems entirely plausible considering the amount of flashbacks that are expected in Season 7. Also, when questioned in the video below, he neither confirmed or denied the return of his character.

But who else could we expect to see?

Maybe Steve Newlin (Michael MacMillian) will do a Russell Edgington and reappear to cause more havoc? Would someone really want to save Steve though?

How about Crystal Norris (Lindsay Pulsipher)? Remember her? She was a werepanther from Hotshot. Sure Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten) escaped her clutches – but could she be back for more?

Or will we just get to see a variety of flashbacks during the course of the show’s final season? Which is nice, but not at all okay if HBO are just baiting us with this delicious piece of information. Would HBO be that cruel? Only time will tell, I guess!

True Blood Season 7: Meet the Newest Character!

Brigette the Microbiologist:

HBO's true blood season 7Over the years many Truebie fans have complained at the extensive and sometimes confusing list of characters that arrive and depart in every season of HBO’s True Blood. Well it seems Season 7 is no exception to this rule! Not only have two new villains been introduced to play alongside long time resident baddie, Sarah Newlin, but we now have a microbiologist to add to the list!

According to E! Online, we have the following details:

We’re going back in time to meet Bill’s parents, William Compton Sr. and Margaret Compton in 1855. We’lll also see Caroline Compton (Shannon Lucio) give birth to one of Bill’s kids in the 1850s. And in the present, get ready to meet Brigette, a smokin’ hot…microbiologist.

So, it’s only a small snippet of information, but it still leads us to wonder why exactly there would be a microbiologist in True Blood Season 7? Could she be investigating what is going on with those rabid, zombie-like vampires we saw at the very end of True Blood Season 6? That seems completely likely. However, some are wondering why Brigette’s inclusion in True Blood was noted alongside the reported flashbacks to Bill Compton’s (Stephen Moyer) past –  is there a possible connection between the two? Only time will tell.

Make sure you tune in for the premiere of HBO’s True Blood Season 7 on June 22nd 2014 to find out!

True Blood Season 7 Spoilers: Bill Compton

Prepare for More Flashbacks to Bill’s Past:

Stephen Moyer stars as Bill/Billith in HBO's True Blood Season 6With the start date announced for HBO’s finale season of True Blood, fans are starting to wonder how everything will be tied up neatly in a mere ten episodes. For those of you who are particularly fond of vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer), there has been some interesting spoilers released in relation to his role in True Blood Season 7.

With fans concerned about what would happen to Bill after turning into a blood puddle and reanimating as Lilith/Billith at the end of Season 5, and then with all his adventures in Season 6, it will be very interesting to see how this season will pan out for him.

And now, with the announcement that there will be a flashback involving Bill, how will this tie in to his constantly evolving story line? Well, here at TrueBloodNet, we have compiled a list of Bill Compton spoilers – read ahead with caution!

What to expect:

  • The flashback will occur in the 1850’s – 1855 according to E! Online. There we will meet Bill’s parents, Margaret and William Compton, Sr. Not sure why we need to see Bill’s parents, since he was turned after he was married to Caroline (Shannon Lucio), but it must be important.
  • Another flashback is due to occur in 1862 (which is only three years before Bill’s ‘death’). According to Examiner.com, Bill will be clashing with some local residents of Bon Temps about his views on the Civil war that was raging at that time. A casting sheet in relation to this scene reveals a 5-year-old Sarah Compton will also be present.
  • A spoiler site (although Examiner.com did not reveal which one), has claimed that we will also see a flashback to the 1850s where fans can witness the birth of one of Bill’s children.

So what does all this mean? Will Bill be fighting with his inner demons yet again? Or will there be a final closure for him? Let us know all your thoughts and theories in the comments below!

Spoiler: True Blood: Will Eric Northman Meet the True Death?

Alexander Skarsgard Teases True Blood Season 6:

True Blood's Eric Northman

With the human war on vampires in full swing on Season 6 of True Blood, all the fans are curious to discover who will actually live through the season! Alexander Skarsgard, who portrays the hunky Viking Eric Northman, teases about the war on vampires:

“There’s a war going on this season because for the first time in 1,000 years, humans are a real threat. Eric’s been busy fighting witches and other vampires, but never humans. You’ll find out how and why, but humans have become a danger”.

Skarsgard hinted that one particular scene was very emotional for him:

“I recently had to do a very emotional scene with a blood bag. I can’t talk about it too much, but that was quite difficult”.

Is this the end of Eric Northman? Is our favorite Viking meeting the “True Death”? It is a valid concern, considering Skarsgard is becoming quite the movie star.  He has three movies in theaters this summer: The East, Disconnect, and What Maisie KnewThe East is a suspense-thriller co-staring the indie favorite Ellen Page (Juno, Inception) It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year.  Disconnect explores the effects of modern technology on human relationships.  What Maisie Knew co-stars Julianne Moore and concerns two parents stuck in a bitter custody battle.

Skarsgard’s star is on the rise, which means True Blood might be losing our favorite vampire.  Let’s hope Eric is hanging around for another 1,000 years.

True Blood Season 6 – Will Sookie Die?

Lauren Bowles Has The Answer:

Anna Paquin plays Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood Season 6

With all the speculation about who will die in True Blood’s Season 6 after Brian Buckner spilled the beans early this month, Truebie fans are starting to panic!

And I don’t blame them – even the least liked main characters have been an integral part of our lives for more than five years now. Many people are speculating over how ‘major’ the major character really is. After all, would HBO kill off Sookie (Anna Paquin), Bill/Billith (Stephen Moyer) or Eric (Alexander Skarsgard)?

It seems the answer is no – or at least not Sookie. Lauren Bowles (who plays Holly Cleary) had this to say to EW.com about the major death occurring in True Blood’s Season 6:

It completely surprised me. There’s not much to say other than it’s completely heartbreaking. It’s heartbreaking. But I really will say it’s one of those that I cried when I read it. Everyone at the table read was crying because in addition to who it is – and by the way, I’m saying that meaning it might be Holly, you don’t know – it truly could be anyone. I think it’s safe to say it’s not Sookie but other than that, it really could be anyone and it is so beautifully done. So it really is heartbreaking.

Well, if it’s not Sookie, who is it then? At the live True Blood Season 6 premiere event, Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur) also had this to say about it:

This is a season that takes its toll on the humans, for sure.

So does that mean the major death will be a human character? Well, only time will tell!

SPOILER: True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard Talks Season 6 ‘Eric’

Just How Far is Eric Willing to Go?:

Alexander Skarsgard as Eric Northman

Alexander Skarsgard as “Eric Northman”

We are less than one month away from the June 16 premiere of HBO’s True Blood, and as the excitement and anticipation escalates, Alexander Skarsgard has revealed what we can expect to see from the powerful Eric Northman in the upcoming Season 6!

In a statement with Hollywoodlife.com on May 20 at Piaget’s screening of Fox Searchlights The East in NYC, Alexander said “[Eric’s] doing some evil stuff this year, some stuff that’s not so nice.” Alexander adds:

“I like them both,” he told us about ‘good’ Eric and ‘evil’ Eric. “It’s fun to go back and forth, you get to play around with both sides. It’s always more interesting than one extreme or the other … when you have both within, and it’s an internal struggle.”

We can expect that Eric’s character will continue to evolve as he struggles with what is right, and who he really is.  Amongst rumours that a major character will meet the true death in the upcoming season 6, I hope that Eric’s naughty side doesn’t secure his place once and for all, meeting his maker and the ultimate true death!

UPDATE: Title Change for Episode 3 (Season 6) of HBO’s True Blood

‘Rock Hard Times’ Gets a New Name:

HBO's True Blood Black Promo PosterRecently, True Blood Net reported that Episode 3, Season 6 of HBO’s True Blood would be titled ‘Rock Hard Times’. As is the case with television shows that are evolving as they are written and filmed, SpoilerTV has reported a name change. Episode 3 will no longer be known as ‘Rock Hard Times’, but has been retitled as ‘Abducted’.

Along with this name change, there is another casting call. HBO are on the look out for someone to play the recurring guest role of Dr. Overlark. This character is 50-years-old and a ruthless advisor to the Governor, Creighton Burrell (played by Arliss Howard). Along side this role, they are also keen to find someone to fill the role of Hido Takahashi. Hido is another a 50-year-old, but one who likes to talk about himself!

Besides these recurring roles, HBO are also looking for a guest role. Maggie is a 35-year-old woman who is pregnant and thinks her husband has run off with another woman. And, finally, they are looking for co-star roles in the form of two police deputies who have to search a cabin.

So many tasty morsels here. Why was Episode 3’s name changed? And who are all these interesting new characters? At least it will give us something to think about until HBO announces the start date for True Blood.

Premiere: True Blood Season 5 Episode 1 “Turn, Turn, Turn” Recap

So Many Twists and Turns!

Bill Compton, Eric Northman and his sister NoraWell folks, the most anticipated True Blood episode – the premiere – has come and gone. Now that the dust has settled, let’s take a look at what happened. For those of you in Australia and other countries that still have to wait until THIS Sunday to view this episode, please take a complimentary Tru Blood and step away from the spoilers. Feel free to discuss the upcoming Tru Blood convention, if you like.

During the break, probably the top two questions on everyone’s lips were: “Will Tara survive?” and “Why does Rev. Steve Newlin have fangs?” The next most pressing issues appeared to be: “What will happen to Eric and Bill for their little ‘oopsie’ with Nan Flanagan?”  “What will the fallout be with Sookie killing Debbie Pelt?” and “How will Russell Edgington heal and then retaliate?”

Well, didn’t we get some answers to most of those questions!  Here, let me break the story lines down for you:

*WARNING! Spoilers ahead!*

We start with finding out how Bill and Eric have reacted to being dumped by Sookie. Bill is still smitten, whereas Eric seems more than just a little peeved. And whether they decide to help Sookie or not when Debbie arrives on the scene is moot once they are trapped and abducted.

Pam then appears on the scene while Sookie and Lafayette are trying to revive Tara. In the heat of the moment Pam agrees to turn Tara and Sookie now owes her a favor – nothing good can come of that, I’m betting. Kudos go to Pam in this scene for producing yet another of her famously naughty lines!

We then switch to find out how Jason is faring with the fangy Steve Newlin at his door. I might add that this turns out to be one of the best scenes of the night – both for humor and for excitement.  This story is later expanded on when Steve glamours Jason and offers a glimmer of back story with announcing he was turned by a woman, before professing his love for Jason Stackhouse. Jason is polite but announces that “this dog don’t bark that way.” Jessica arrives (still sporting everyone’s favorite red riding hood costume) and stakes her claim on Jason. Deborah Ann Woll is magnificent in this scene.

We then flip back to the Tara storyline. Pam has donned a very unattractive yellow Walmart tracksuit and is having Sookie and Lafayette bury her with Tara’s body. It will be interesting to see how this maker relationship pans out.

The werewolf storyline is expanded on next with Sam being hounded by the pack to admit who killed the pack master. This story is spliced throughout the episode and results in Sam ‘fessing up to protect Luna and her daughter. He is then tortured and finally has to watch the pack master’s parents eat their own son.

So what of Bill and Eric? Well, seems that being stuck in the trunk of a car is no hindrance to them. They devise a plan to blow the car up by igniting the fuel: a magnificent explosion results. So does the death of the driver – not by the new bromance couple, but by Eric’s ‘sister,’ Nora. A sister who is a little closer to her brother than most – only in True Blood, eh? A twisted plot in the running of vampire politics unfolds here. Personally, I think this one will end up twistier than the others. Especially since Bill and Eric will have to assume new identities.

After Sookie and Lafayette dispose of Debbie (wonder where they buried the body?), they discover the disappearance of yet another corpse – this time it’s Jesus’. Layfayette attempts to contact him on the other side but to no avail.

The next scene is one of those awkward-hilarious ones that True Blood and HBO are so great at delivering. Ever wonder what would happen if your grown children were to walk in on yourself and your partner? Well, Andy and Holly found out the hard way in this episode!

The Terry storyline finally gets its time in lights. Who is this mysterious military friend and why are Terry and his old squadron involved in so many fires? This storyline is looking more interesting than I first suspected – maybe baby Mikey is not the black sheep we first thought?

Now we flash to Sookie and Alcide. If it weren’t for Lafayette butting in, I would imagine things would have gotten real hairy, real quickly if Sookie had have been left to explain just what she’d done to Debbie without his intervention.

We get a heap of storyline snippets next: Hoyt and Jason, Eric and Nora (and a rather saucy sex scene in a disused shipping container) as well as a particularly tasty morsel: Why are live humans being thrown into that room – who is eating them? Russell perhaps? Who knows just yet…

The most cringeworthy scene follows. Do we really need to see karaoke? Even if it is to expand on the confusion Jason is feeling at falling for Jessica and Jessica making it clear (by flirting with someone else) that she doesn’t want a serious relationship yet. The jury is still out as to whether Jason really would have a conscience around a hot chick either. The only good thing about that scene were Jessica’s killer heels!

We round up the first episode with an absolute cliffhanger. While Eric and Bill are given new identities and being sent on their merry ways, snipers start shooting.  The only three left standing are Eric, Bill, and Nora. They are taken prisoner by people announcing themselves as the one true Vampire Authority!

With so many great story lines this season, which was your fave and why? Let us know in the comments below.

Spoiler! Season 5 True Blood Premiere Song Speculation!

HBO True Blood vampire Steve Newlin-former Church of the Sun leader, played by Michael McMillan, in Season 5 Premiere

True Blood Season 5 Premiere

We recently revealed, here at TrueBloodNet.com, the title of the first episode of season five of HBO‘s hit series, True Blood. Warning! Spoiler Alert! If you don’t want to be spoiled you should not read further as the title often reveals important episode themes. Long-time viewers know, the title of the episode often ties in with the final song that plays during the closing credits of each episode of True Blood. Radio DJ Gary Calamar is responsible for picking these often-surprising tunes that play in the final credits. Mr. Calamar is the music supervisor on True Blood picking the songs to accompany not only the final credits but also tunes heard during the show whenever the talented Nathan Barr isn’t creating original scores for our favorite series. According to this piece we presented last year:

Every episode of True Blood is named after a song. According to Gary, this is difficult due to budget concerns. Some licensing can be too expensive or just not available. In a few cases, the episode titles were changed because the song didn’t work out as planned. But, as music supervisor, this touch makes his job more fun and interesting.

Turn! Turn! Turn!

The name of the season 5 premiere episode of True Blood is “Turn! Turn! Turn!” While the most obvious implication is that dead/or dying Tara Thornton, who’s brains were splattered across Sookie Stackhouse‘s kitchen at the end of Season 4, will be turned into a vampire, Alan Ball and his devious writers could be throwing us all off track with the premiere’s title. Perhaps Ball and the writers are throwing us a curve ball by merely refering to the recent turning of Steve Newlin former head of the ‘Church of the Sun“, Bon Temps anti-vampire religious extremists, into the vampire that showed up at Sookie‘s door last season with the foreshadowing title. Maybe they are hinting at various characters turning over a new leaf this season. They can but assume that the title of the episodes would be known before the premiere show’s airing on June 10th, 2012 and they could be evilly twisting the obvious meaning.

Nevertheless, we thought we would speculate on not only which song is going to play at the end of the first season five episode but also which band’s cover of the piece will be selected.

The Byrds

The most famous version of this song was done by The Byrds in 1965 where it reached number on on Billboard’s Hot 100. However, The Byrds didn’t write “Turn! Turn! Turn! (to Everything There Is a Season)” to give the song it’s full title. That honor belongs to Pete Seeger who wrote the song in 1959 and recorded it on his album, “The Bitter and the Sweet” in 1962.

Seeger repurposed the words from the King James Bible version of the Book of Ecclesiastes, using the words almost verbatim, with a bit of rearranging and the addition of exactly six words of his own. Besides Seeger and The Byrds, “Turn! Turn! Turn!” was also recorded by Judy Collins in 1963 on her “Judy Collins 3” album, The Seekers in 1966 on their “Georgy Girl”; Wilson Philips in 2004 on their “California” album. Other prominent musicians who’ve recorded this title are Bruce Springsteen in 2006 and most recently by Tori Amos in 2010.

So whose version of this song do you think we’ll hear on June 10th during the season 5 premiere of True Blood? Do you like one better than the other? Do you have a sentimental favorite? Or do you know of a more obscure version of the song that you think is better suited to the dark and twisted story lines of True Blood? Be sure to take your guess in the comments section below!

The Lyrics

Turn, Turn, Turn by Pete Seeger and sung by The Byrds

To everything, turn, turn, turn
There is a season, turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of peace, I swear it’s not too late

Season 5 May Reveal How Pam Became A Vamp

A Trip Back In Time For Pam?

Kristin Bauer van Straten as vampire PamMany True Blood fans love the show’s in depth flashbacks, and judging from recent casting calls Alan Ball may be gearing up to give fans a flashback we’ve all been anticipating for a long time during Season 5.

Ball is looking for two characters in particular. A non-threatening man in his 30s and a prostitute oddly named “Washcloth Helen.” Both of these characters will be introduced to fans during a flashback to a San Francisco brothel in 1905.

The significance in this may be in the date. According to author Charlaine Harris, this is the year that Pam became a vampire. In the novels her transformation takes place in London, not San Francisco, but this may just be one of the many changes Alan Ball has made to the series. I for one am glad to still have Lafayette around!

Of course there is always the possibility that this scene has nothing to do with Pam or how she was made into a vampire. Now that she’s all pretty again, I hope we get to see lots more of my favorite sassy vamp this upcoming season!

True Blood Season 5 Spoilers From Co-EP Raelle Tucker

Co-Executive Producer/Writer Spills the Scoop on Season 5:

True Blood vampires by HBOWe have more news on what to expect in Season 5 of HBO’s True Blood, straight from co-executive producer and writer, Raelle Tucker. Remember when Stephen Moyer said there would be “an omnipresent power” next season in this article?

Raelle Tucker backs this up by saying:

“There will be a very significant, strong, mysterious woman at the center of one of our main stories next year. That will be a very familiar and compelling character. It may be someone you’ve heard of before.”

The show will delve pretty deep into the world of fairies, giving us all (including Sookie) a better understanding of the fascinating creatures.  Speaking of Sookie and Supes, as we saw in the finale, she has seemingly sworn them off — at least romantically.  But can one ever really be rid of Supes in Bon Temps?  Highly doubtful.  So what does this mean for Bill and Eric?  What the heck will they be doing, if not fighting over Sookie?  According to Tucker, seeing as how they offed Nan Flanagan,

“The consequences of their actions in the finale are going to chase them for a while next year.”

What about creepy Rene, Terry, and Arlene?  Well, it seems Rene was right!  Terry is going to be nothing but trouble next season, thanks to his old buddy Patrick.  Fitting that Terry’s past would come back to haunt him on All Hallow’s Eve, don’t you think?  But poor Terry isn’t the only character whose past is coming back to haunt him — we now know that Steve Newlin is back (as a vampire, who saw that one coming?!), and so is the King of Mississippi!  Uh oh.  I smell trouble.  That little fella is NOT going to be happy.  Three cheers for Russell Edgington and his crazy antics!

What do you think, Truebies?  Is Season 5 already shaping up to be a good one?

Video: Stephen Moyer Spills on Season 5 — Spoilers!

Vampire Bill shares Spoilers for Season 5:

Stephen Moyer as True Blood’s Bill ComptonMTV recently interviewed Stephen Moyer (the handsome Brit who plays vampire Bill Compton on HBO’s True Blood) at the junket for his latest movie, The Caller. When asked for Bon Temps Spoilers Moyer said:

“I know there is going to be an omnipresent power in season five. I know what it is. I think we could be heading towards an even greater season.”

Sounds marvelous! What could this “omnipresent power” be? More witches? Fairies? Another Supe? Will Jesus fly down to Bon Temps and decide he can’t miss all the fun? Wait, Moyer has more to say about the coming season:
